After getting dressed quickly, I stopped at Athena's place to pick her up and we walked to the park. I was surprised to see mostly everyone was there, except for Asher who showed up a few moments after me.
I walked up to everyone, holding Athena's sleeve to drag her with me. "You'll be fineee, come on."
"What if it gets really awkward cause I'm here?" She asked with a bit of a worried tone.
Before I could reply, I was tackle-hugged to the floor by none other than Honey Cohen.
Athena, of course, fell with us due to me holding her sleeve. It turned into a big idiot sandwich.
"Ahhhh!! Sorryyyyy!!!" Honey jumped up and helped us off the ground.
Connor chuckled from behind her but quickly shut up when she glared him down.
"Well, you met Honey. Let me introduce you to everyone else." Athena said hi to everyone and somehow was immediately welcomed into the group.
We found ourselves in the same places as last time, just with one more person. I was with Asher on the swings, Connor and Honey on the slide, Eli and Ivy on the monkey bars, Liam and Violet at the sandpit, and Ian spinning his brains out at the merry go round but this time with Athena.
I talked with Asher for a bit about random things that weren't really important.
*Honey's pov*
I went down the slide yelling,"Weeee!!" and squealed in shock as Connor met me at the bottom with open arms.
"Connor, you're gonna drop me!" I said in a laughing fit as he picked me up from the slide and spun me around. I had to make sure my yellow sundress didn't show any of my lady bits.
"I'm too strong to drop you! Are you questioning my ability to carry fair maidens?" Connor said in an old timey accent that I couldn't help but giggle at.
"No, you're like the strongest and coolest guy I know..." I could feel my ears turning pink. "But don't do that Shakespeare accent or I'll take it back!!"
I started struggling in his arms and neither of us could stop laughing. I accidentally made him lose his balance and he grasped at me. As a reflex, I wrapped my legs around his waist and we became eye level to each other. We both stopped laughing.
"Y-Your eyes, they're just..." He trailed off as he looked right at me.
"They're just what?" I asked, losing my breath.
We both stayed quiet for a moment and took in every inch of each other's faces while we got the chance.
"They're... They're..." He tried to find the words. I could tell he was losing his train of thought as if something was distracting him. I thought I might've seen his eyes flicker to my lips.
I looked at him, waiting eagerly for his answer. Instead, I got a different answer. He pulled my body closer to him and kissed me like it'd been a thousand years of waiting. It surely felt like it was.
I put my hands on his jaw and held his face to mine while he held me up. We simply couldn't get enough of each other. Ironically, his lips tasted like honey. Somehow, I might've integrated my entire being into his life, whether it be by my actual presence, my name, or the color yellow. At least I think by the increase of yellow in his closet recently when we started hanging out more.
He bit my bottom lip and tugged on it which made me giggle. We both pulled away, breathless. We just looked at each other as we tried to catch our breaths.
We pressed our foreheads against each other and laughed at how good it felt to finally do that.
"I like you more than you could ever imagine, Honey Cohen. You're the sunshine in my life." He leaned forward and gave me a peck on the nose.
"As you are to mine." I stroked his cheek with my hand softly.
He pulled me into a hug and I squished my face into the crook of his neck. His arms felt so nice and warm around me. I felt like I could stay like that forever.
"Oh my lord." Someone said from behind us.
We both turned our heads to find our friends standing a few feet away from us with looks of surprise.
"How long?" Anikah asked.
"Just now." I replied, sheepishly.
"Wow, so much in my first day here." Athena grinned and crossed her arms.
"Damn it, everyone's getting together. We might not be the power couple anymore." Anikah looked at Julia, then down at the ground in disappointment.
Julia lifted up Anikah's chin and gave her a peck on the lips. "We'll always be the power couple here."
Ugh, those two were just too cute! They started being all lovey dovey so everyone went back to their places and I didn't want to invade their privacy. So I turned to Connor.
"Wait, so what does this mean for us?" I asked nervously.
He put me down, went down on one knee, and gently grabbed my hand. "Honey Cohen, will you be my girlfriend.
I just laughed and nodded my head eagerly.
After that, we went back to playing on the slide. The only difference this time was that we didn't have to hide our love for each other.

*Hazel's Pov*
I sat again with Asher on the swings. We were slowly moving ourselves back and forth, dragging our feet on the wood shavings under us.
I laughed nervously as I turned my head to him. "All of our friends are becoming couples now. I'm pretty sure there's something going on with Liam and Violet, too." I looked at them, throwing sand at each other in the sandbox and being all flirty. I sighed.
"Yeah, it's kinda freaky. What a coincidence that all these people are just perfect for each other in the same group." He looked at me with a sheepish smile.
I bolted up from my swing. "I mean, that doesn't have to mean anything for some of us." I laughed awkwardly to the point where it sounded fake. "Ian, Athena, you,... me."
I rushed up behind Asher and started pushing him on his swing because I didn't want him to see my face.
"I mean, I guess so. But don't you think-"
"Don't you think that everything is kinda really fast. I don't mean anything in particular. Everything is just, it's just so fast and blurry and oh my god the world is spinning." My heartbeat started speeding up and I started pushing Asher's swing really hard.
"Hazel, stop pushing me." He said in an antsy voice. "Hazel. Hazel." He finished with a hint of worry.
I immediately stopped the swing and fidgeted with my hands. I tried to calm my breathing but everything was just spinning and my glasses weren't helping me see clearly anymore.
Asher got off the swing and stood in front of me. "Hazel, calm down. It's okay. You're okay." He put his hands on my shoulders and I wiped at the tears forming in my eyes.
"I-I know. I just, ughhhh. I don't know. I'm sorry. I know that I'm being frustrating I just don't know what to do." I looked away and sniffled.
"Hey, no. I get it. You're scared. You've been through some shit and it's had an effect on you. You're not inclined to feel any sort of way. I get it." He stroked my shoulder lightly with his hand in a comforting circle.
"You do?" I asked in a meek voice. Maybe I wasn't alone.
He laughed. "Yeah. You know, I have a lot of problems with my older brother, Jax. I don't even fully know why. I think it was this weird time where I thought my family liked him more so I envied him. It was all in my head I guess but it really broke the normal sibling bickering relationship we had. He still tries to look out for me sometimes when he's home but it just isn't the same. It's affected me in ways I'm still figuring out. The things we go through change us, but we just need to learn to push through."
I stared at him in awe. "Wow. I-I didn't know. I'm sorry. I feel like I haven't really considered the things you go through and haven't been a good listening ear." My lip wobbled.
"Hey, no it's okay. I don't need to talk about it. If anything, you just being around makes it all better." He gave me a sincere smile.
The first teardrop fell from my eye and I jumped onto Asher with a bear hug.
He was surprised at first, but quickly hugged me back. He gave the best and most comforting hugs in the world. I never wanted to let go.
After a bit, we reluctantly pulled away.
He wiped my drying tears away with his thumbs. "Don't be sad. Whatever it is you were scared of, you don't have to do anything about it right now and that's okay. I'm sure it'll be there for you when you're ready."
I nodded and laughed through my puffy eyes.
After that, we just sat on the swings and talked to each other about all of our fears and what we looked forward to in the future. At that moment, I realized:
Asher was my person.
