He still traveled the country-side, but now unarmed. Unarmed with weapons or the desire to kill for he too was tired and defeated. Suicidal. He vowed to never take up another weapon, not even against himself, so he tried to starve himself but each time near death, an unwanted stranger would find him dehydrated and malnourished and instead of ending it, the good Samaritan would encourage him back to health and he was too weak to resist.
