It wasnât easy. Straffe still had his superior sense of sound. Though itâd been years since they had parted ways on unpleasant terms, not necessarily negative, in the back of his mind, Straffe knew there was a possibility Reshod would uncover the bad things he had done. Itâs inevitable, he thought, and when he sensed Reshodâs approach, he knew there was anger in each step. Biding time, his canine companions kept Reshod at bay, not able to enter the compound therefore not able to confront his mentor. But he was bloodied and screaming and people inside the compound started to take notice. The growing commotion needed to be abated, so Straffe went and met his protégé at the gate. And let him in.
