Violet's POV-
I gasped awake, instantly transforming into my Dendrix and going into defense mode when realization hit me. I wasn't in some basement or cell, I wasn't chained up and drugged with wolfs bane or flossom. I was perfectly fine and in William's bedroom.
What? What happened?
"William?" I croaked out and I saw a blur in front of me, the sound of a door banging shut and a sudden weight on top of me as William laid on top of me, hugging me close and inhaling my scent.
"William- what happened?" i asked, my body felt weak, my voice was croaky and I was starving and not for food...for blood.
"You were knocked out by the hunters. They were so close to taking you, but my wolf took control. I snapped out of my weak state and killed every hunter that stood in my way. I needed to get to you because even the thought of not having you next to me for even a second hurts my soul and it feels like a punch in the gut and a twist in the heart. I can't have you away from me," he answered and my heart and entire  body melted at his words.

"William I'm hungry," I said after a few moments of letting the information he told me sink in. I understood he was going to be protective for a while. I mean I was almost taken from him and who knows where I would be if he hadn't rescued me.
"I'll get someone to make you something," he said but stopped when I shook my head, "What?" he asked confused.
"I-I need blood," I whispered and his eyes went wide in realization.
"Right," he came over and sat next to me on the edge of the bed.
He tilted his head to the side...
"Go for it," he said. I took a deep breathe, he didn't need to ask twice. My hunger for blood stood out quickly as my fangs quickly came out. I gently sank my teeth into his warm neck and moaned at the taste of my mate.
William's arms went around me and held me tight against him. After twenty minutes of me satisfying my hunger, I gently pulled my teeth out of William. I stared at the four punctures in his neck and gently licked them closed.
William pulled away and smiled gently at me, I laid back down on the bed.
"Thank you," I smiled.
"No need for a thank you. I love being needed," he smiled, making his dimples pop out.
"How is everyone?" I asked.
"Everyone's fine, after my wolf took over, most hunters retreated when they saw my Alpha wolf. Nobody got injured and nothing was damaged," I breathed a sigh of relief. The guilt would eat me alive if someone got hurt because those hunters were here for me.
They found me, they know I'm here. I'm already putting everyone in danger by being here. What do I do though? Do I leave my mate behind in order to protect him and everyone he loves or do I stay and put everyone in danger....I think I'm going to have to go with the first one whether I like it or not, I refuse to put my mate and his pack in danger like this.
"William...you know I have to leave right?" I whispered shifting my gaze to my lap.
"An Alpha never runs," he growls out. "You're soon to be queen of the Dendrix and you're running from a threat? Your role as queen is to put an end to all the terror!" he said in a hard tone.
"I'm not a coward! But you don't understand! They were able to fight me off! I've been trained since I could walk, I'm trained to fight and win in any type of situation I would ever be put in. I was taught by the best, my father and our elders. If I was going to be queen, I needed to be able to defend my people against any threat! But I failed! They were able to get to me, the person whose supposed to be the deadliest killer!" My anger was getting the best of me.
"I was forced to leave, sent away from my people, I left them defenseless!" I was disappointing in myself. Even if I left unwillingly, I never went back....
I let a tear slip down my cheek, Will was quick to wipe it away and cup my face with his hands.
"Don't cry, you're not a coward. You were forced into leaving, you didn't leave, they made you leave. I understand these hunters can be dangerous, but that's only if you give them a reason to feel dangerous. You don't fear them, they're supposed to fear you...No more running Violet, it's time to face them head on and destroy them once and for all. And you have me, your pack, and your kingdom. We're all here for you, because without you, we wouldn't be complete," William place his forehead against mine, while I sniffed and forced the new tears back.
"You have such a way with words," I said making him chuckle.
"No more running." He said sternly.
I sighed, "No more running," I said confidently.
"We're going to war," he said and I nodded. "We're going to war, together."

Something I knew for a fact was that we wouldn't be going to war for at least 6 months. I was with these hunters for a long time. I know how they strategize and I know that they take up to months to finally calculate their next move and act on whatever they came up with.
Some breathing time before we focus and tell everyone we're at war. Not the best idea, but there is no way William will let me train. He doesn't let me out of his sight and when I am out of sight, his wolf takes over.
"Can you get me a blanket please?' I asked William, fake shivering.
He was hesitant, but quickly went, knowing that the sooner he got it, the sooner he could come back.
"Need a breather huh?" I looked over to Bates walking into the kitchen.
"Its been a week! He doesn't let me go anywhere alone! I love that he cares so much, but I mean come on, he tried to follow me into the bathroom the first time!" I groaned.
"He's like a puppy," Bates chuckled.
"Who's like a puppy?" William asked as he rushed back in and picked me up from my chair, sat down, place me on his lap making sure I was curled up against him, with my legs tucked in and wrapped the blanket around, while placing my head in his neck, almost as if he was trying to hide me from the world.
I sighed and cuddled into him, "No one," I kissed his neck and closed my eyes.
"So what's up Bates?" William asked.
"Nothing, I just came to ask Violet something," he turned to me. "My mate, wants to meet you and take you shopping," he quickly turned to William who opening his mouth to protest. "And William, Heather told me she would come over here and I quote "beat the living shit out of her if you keep her away from her new sister," William went quiet. (Heather is mentioned in Chapter 2, she is William's younger sister and Bates (the Beta) mate)
"YES!" I jumped up as soon as I heard shopping, shopping meant leaving this house for a few hours. William growled lowly. "Tell her she can come tomorrow," I smiled.
William snarled as he tightened his arms around me. I motioned Bates to leave, as I hugged William to me and kissed his jaw, trailing up his jaw, his cheek and finally his lips.
"Please let me go, I want to go shopping," I pouted.
"You want to go shopping? Fine, I'll give you my lap top and credit card," I groaned.
"Nooo, online shopping is great, but I want to go to the mall myself," I made my eyes wider, stuck out my bottom lip and gave him my best pout ever.
He groaned and I knew I had him!
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I hugged him.
"I'm still assigning you and my sister five guards each," I looked at him like he was crazy.
"I can protect myself, and Bates' mate is your sister?"
"I know you can protect yourself, but I won't let you go without guards, and yes sadly my sister is stuck with that fool that is my best friend," he rolled his eyes.
"Fine," I groaned.
If taking ten guards to go on a shopping spree with us, then it doesn't really matter as long as they kept their distance and we were allowed to leave this house. FINALLY!

It took me sooo long to update and I'm sorry! Please forgive me!
I'll try to update in the next few days, but my life is gonna get pretty hectic in the next few months. So many exciting things that are going to happen! One of them being I'M MOVING BACK TO NEW YORK IN LESS THAN 4 MONTHS! I CAN'T WAIT!
