[CHARLIE'S POV]
"Come on! All we need to do is find you a dress, get your hair and nails done, and do your make up! We only have four hours, so hurry up." Kylie and my friends continue torturing me.
They push me into yet another boutique. This one is different from the other dozens that we had been to today. Instead of being all pink and feathers, this one was painted beige. The walls were adorned with gold framed mirrors scattered here and there. Instead of slutty bright clothing, its racks were hung with elegant blacks, and deep purples.
"Why are we here? Lets go to Catiana's, it's right next door." Ellie goes to pull me with her, but my eyes are already zoned in on something hanging across the shop.
Its the perfect dress. Its white, and appears strapless at first sight. But taking a closer look, you'll see that the neck of the dress, is a lacy net material. Strewn across the bottom and the neck, are sparkly gems.
"It's perfect!"
They all push me forward, forcing the dress into my hands and shoving me into a dressing room, ushering me to try on the dress.
I quickly strip of my skinny jeans and floral blouse, tossing them to the floor.
I slip the soft material of the dress, gently over my head. It was the only dress of its kind in the store, and yet it fit perfectly. Maybe it was a little tighter than intended, but that can't be helped.
It hugged my waist in a way that made it look smaller. The gems made my eyes pop and the lace gave it a classy look.
It was exactly what I was looking for, and as I strut out of the dressing room, I could tell the other girls know that too.
Their faces lit up when I twirled around them. They practically ripped the dress off me, in order to pay for it quick enough.
Somewhere in all the confusion, someone had grabbed pair of strappy white heels and bought those too.
"Now for your nails!" They squealed.
They pulled me from place to place, forcing a French manicure onto me, and then having a hair dresser force my unruly hair into a braided bun. A few lone tendrils fell around my face.
Finally after about two hours, we headed home. When we arrived home, it was six fifteen- the date starts at seven.
I was their pretty, little, Barbie doll for forty five minutes.
The only thing we needed to do was dress me, and do my make up.
They spent almost fifteen minutes picking out the 'proper' bra, and underwear.
"Tonight, you'll need it." Kylie had said, sending me a wink.
Finally, five minutes before Cole was supposed to show, they finished. The stranger in the mirror was gorgeous.
My usually dull blue eyes popped out drastically, thanks to the eyeliner they had applied. The sparkly silver eye-shadow I had on brought out the purple flecks in my eyes, and the light pink blush made my cheekbones look sharper, more prominent. The bright red lipstick they added at the last second was a startling contrast to the other neutral colors I wore. The few tendrils that framed my face, softened my features enough that I still looked my age.
As the girls were putting on the finishing touches (those included persuading me to stuff my bra with toilet paper, and repeatedly asking me if I had enough 'protection') the door bell rang.
"I'll get it." I said, pushing past the girls.
I opened the door with a relieved breath.
That breath was stolen once I looked at Cole.
He looked absolutely dashing.
He wore black dress pants and a dark blue dress shirt. His hair was slightly damp, I assume from a shower.
And in his hand, was a gorgeous bouquet of pink roses.
I smiled smugly in my head as I saw he was just as breathless as I was.
"You look... wow." He breathed, still dazed.
"I could say the same for you." I giggled, working hard to keep my demeanor.
"Um.. these... are for you." He seemed to struggle getting the words out, and as he awkwardly passed me the flowers, I laughed at how adorable he was.
"Lets get going. If we don't they'll harass us for pictures and act like its freaking prom." I motioned to my friends that where watching us like we were the new twilight.
He chuckled at me and hooked his arm through mine.
As we approached his car, a sleek black Mercedes, he dropped my arm. I almost whimpered at the emptiness I felt, until I realized he was opening the at door for me.
I smiled at him as I slid into the car. "Maybe chivalry isn't dead, after-all."
As he went around the car and sat in the drivers seat, he had a wide smug smile adorning his face.
"You know, cocky isn't a good look for you." I teased.
He feigned hurt. "How dare you? everything is a good look on me." He spoke the second sentence in a startlingly female voice.
"I worry about you sometimes, you know. Ellie have suspicions about something going on between you and my brother." I try to suppress a giggle at his disgusted face.
"What? I just- What?" He continues to stutter over the words, making me let out a very unladylike snort.
A few minutes of content silence surrounded us. I looked out the window and noticed the town getting replaced by forest, houses turning into trees.
"Where are we going?" I ask curiously. Not much is out in the forest. Only a few sheds with some clothes for first time shifters.
When we were younger, before all the bad stuff, my brother, Cole and I built a tree house out here. I hadn't visited it in years, it was probably torn down by now.
"It's a surprise." He grinned at me, knowing fully well how much I hated surprises.
"No fair! You have to tell me! I'll go mad if I don't know." I pleaded with him, sounding like a whiny child.
"You won't go mad." He chuckled. "You'll find out soon enough."
I sat there quietly, a pout on my face, arms crossed over my chest.
Of course my childish antics were long forgotten the second I saw what he had put together.
