CH 12

I headed to the capital with Macbeth and two other guards to attend the party.

We arrived about two days early due to the fact that the road to the royal capital of the Dukedom was newly widened and improved.

When we arrived, the capital itself seemed to be abuzz with excitement over the princess’s birthday party, and as expected, everyone seemed to be busy bringing in food and gifts for the party.

Not only the aristocrats, but also the commoners seemed to be enjoying themselves, so they might be happy with the secondary benefits, the children also seemed to be enjoying themselves, so the princess must be very popular.

Well, even though they adore her this much, I’m sure they’ll turn against her sooner or later. I have to make sure that I don’t get emotional.

“We’ll meet up at that restaurant over there!”

“No, you should at least escort one of them.”

“It’s okay. Chris-sama. If someone sees Chris-sama now, they won’t think he’s a nobleman. And honestly, you’ll be fine even if something happens.”

Macbeth narrowed his eyes and answered proudly.

“No, you don’t have to be so proud…”

“Chris-sama has been training with Yulis-sama since he was three years old, every day without fail. It’s a good opportunity to know what the outsiders are capable of, so why don’t you give them a try?”

Macbeth and the others laughed, looking really funny.

And then the three of them left, smiling at me.

I chased after them as hard as I could, but they easily outran me. Damn it. I bet you just want to go to that kind of place. Take me with you!
