Chapter 87- Sports day A few days passed and the news of Harry Winstonâs incarceration had died down. The day for the kindergartenâs sports day had finally arrived.
Aaron put aside his work to spend time with his family. He was supposed to be in Europe that weekend for a business meeting, but he sent his assistant instead. He wouldnât miss the kidâs sports day for the world.
Family comes first.
That was his new motto. No matter how busy he was, his family would always be his number one priority.
He had taken them shopping and they bought matching sports attire for the event. They were all in navy track pants and white tees. The weather was nice and warm so they didnât have to wear track jackets.
The kids were the most excited. They were hyper and sang songs while in the backseat of the car.
Aaron drove them to the schoolâs location. When they arrived, they matched towards the sports field where the event was taking place.
There was a white tent in one corner meant for parents and guardians to sit and watch the children Another tent meant for the children and the teachers was on the opposite side of the field. The tracks were painted with white lines in readiness for the races âDaddy, you have to cheer for me when Iâm running get a lot of pictures of me, ok?â Willa demanded as their teacher came forward to lead the kids to their tent The teacher smiled at Aaron and Tessa and greeted them, âWelcome, Mr and Mrs Wentworth. I hope you enjoy the event.â
âPlease take care of them,â Tessa responded since Aaron didnât like talking to people he was not close to unless it was necessary.
He glanced at Willa and brushed her hair lovingly before responding to her request, âIâll cheer the loudest and take many pictures of you, princess When they went to take a seat, Josh came forward with the bags that Aaron had prepared beforehand but didnât want the triplets to see. They were gifts he intended to give them as a reward for participating in the activities.
âHow good are our kids? Are they all going to win?â Aaron asked Tessa.
For some reason, he was nervous to see his children compete for the first time. He was worried that they would feel bad if they lost. Regardless, he was excited to experience this for the first time.
The parents who were already there recognised the couple and secretly took pictures. It was like they were celebrities. The other parents were excited to see the richest man in the City sitting so close to them.
They felt like they had made it in life.
One of them took a selfie with the couple showing in the background. Their caption read... [ Guess who Iâm rubbing shoulders with?? The billionaire couple! So excited!]
Others whispered among themselves, âI had to use most of my salary to bring my kids to this school when I heard the billionaireâs triplets were enrolled here. I canât believe Iâm seeing Aaron Wentworth in the flesh!â
âIsnât it sweet that he put aside his work to attend his childrenâs sports day? The rumours are true! Heâs a family man. A man like that is hard to find!â
âWow! What a beautiful couple! Take more pictures! I need to show my neighbours!â
âI would like my kids to be friends with their kids! It would be like having connections with royalty!â
Meanwhile, Tessa ignored the whispers about them and chuckled at Aaronâs question. She gave him a side glance and said, âReagan is a fast runner. Heâs very competitive and heâs never lost in a race. However, this is his first sports day in Ashford, perhaps thereâs someone faster than him here.â
âNo way! My son is the best!â Aaron said proudly.
Tessa laughed and shook her head. She continued, âNia may be quiet but sheâs also competitive. She always won too. But Willa canât run... her cute short legs canât even reach the finish line. Sheâs my cute lazy munchkin.â
Aaron chuckled at that. He remarked, âWell, it doesnât matter if they win or lose. As long as theyâve participated and had fun.â
After a few announcements from the school principal, the event finally began. The kids were separated into two teams. Luckily, the triplets were in the same team.
The first sport was sprinting for 50 meters and the girls were going to start. Two participants were picked from teams A and B making a total of four. Being in team A, Nia and Willa wound up being picked first.
Willa stretched her neck and grinned when she saw her father looking at her. She clutched her. pants with one hand and waved at him. Aaron smiled at her and waved, shouting, âGo, Willa! Go, Nia!â
The kids were told to position themselves at the starting line. The two girls glanced at their parents and saw them stand to their feet, cheering them on.
âYou can do this girls!â Tessa encouraged.
As she clapped, Tessa told her husband, âYou will see how Willa will stop in the middle of the race and act like sheâs tired. She does it all the time to avoid running.â
When the whistle blew, the girls began to run. Tessa and Aaron began to run, following the kids on the side as they cheered their children on.
âGo, Nia! Go, Willa! Daddy is here to watch you!â Aaron shouted.
Hearing their parentsâ cheers motivated the girls to run faster, boasting their energy and confidence.
The other parents cheered for their daughters likewise.
Tessaâs eyes widened when she noticed that Willa was running fast with her short legs. She surpassed the other two girls and was only a step away from her sister who was leading at the front.
Aaron was excited seeing his girls leading. He sprinted to the finish line to wait for his girls. while Josh followed with the bag of gifts. Tessa followed and they both waited for their kids. while cheering, âGo, girls!â
Seeing their parents waiting at the finish line with smiles on their faces, the Wentworth kids ran faster, wanting to run into their parentâs arms.
Soon, Nia finished first and threw herself into Tessaâs arms. âI came first!â
Tessa chuckled and hugged her daughter, saying, âYes, sweetie! You did well!â
Willa crossed the finish line and was received by Aaron, she screamed, âDaddy! I came second!
Aaron grinned and twirled her around, saying, âThatâs my girl! Iâm so proud of you!â
He then put her down and carried Nia, giving her the same treatment. âYouâve made me so happy!â
When he put her down, he got the small bouquets he had prepared and gave them to the girls. âCongratulations on winning the race!â
âThank you, Daddy!â The girls beamed as they received their flowers.
They rushed back to their tents and Reagan was the next to race. Just like his siblings, he did. exceptionally well. He came out first and was received by his father and a bouquet was handed. to him, although he complained.
âDaddy, Iâm not a girl. Flowers are for girls,â he blushed.
âWho said boys canât receive flowers?â Aaron chuckled and ruffled his sonâs hair. âBoys can receive flowers too. They deserve to be cared for too just like girls.â
Reagan nodded and rushed back to his team. Several other races were done, like the egg and 3/5 spoon race. The participants would speed walk while carrying an egg on a spoon until the finish line. If they dropped the egg, they had to go back and get another one before resuming the race.
The triplets won every race that followed and Aaron couldnât be more proud. He would cheer the kids on and shower them with gifts each time they finished a race.
After the kids had their fun, it was now time for the parents to race among themselves. The mothers were the first to compete.
Before Tessa went to take her position, Aaron cupped her face and kissed her cheek, âAll the best, Mrs Wentworth.â
Tessa blushed and replied, âThank you, Mr Wentworth.â
She took part in the race but she wasnât a very good runner. She came third but the kids and Aaron still cheered her on, âMy mommy is the best!â Reagan said.
âNo, mine is the best! She won the race!â One of the kids interjected.
âIt doesnât matter who came first! All I know is my Mommy is the best! To me, sheâs number one!â Reagan declared.
When it was time for the fathers to race, Aaron hugged Tessa and waved at the kids. The triplets waved at him and cheered, âGo, Daddy!â
Reagan glanced at Alan, one of his friends. He puffed out his chest and pointed at Aaron,â Thatâs my Daddy! Heâs the best too!â
The triplets cheered as the race started. Aaron and the other men were running for 100 meters. Aaron began to sprint as soon as the whistle blew. He was so fast that he quickly left the others.
behind.
Seeing their father leading, the triplets cheered, âYay!!! Daddy is winning!â
âGo, Daddy!â
âGo, Daddy!â
When the race was over, the ladies were drooling over Aaron and how handsome he looked as he ran. They couldnât help but comment dreamily.
âOh, my God! He can do anything. Not only is he rich, he is athletic too!â
âSo handsome.â
Tessa squinted her eyes at the women who were practically eye-fucking her man. When they saw her glowering at them, they quickly shut their mouths and giggled before whispering, â Mrs Wentworth is so protective of her man.â
Reagan and his friend were still talking about their parents. Alan glanced at Reagan and said, â
My parents are giving me a baby brother so they are the best!â
âA baby brother?â Reagan fell silent for a moment. He was mulling over what his friend had said and soon became intrigued.
âHow? Is the stork going to deliver the baby?â He asked and Alan shook his head.
âNo. The stork doesnât bring babies. My mommy is growing him in her belly!â Alanı responded.
Reaganâs eyes widened and he gasped, âIn her belly?â
The little guy was confused because he recently watched an animated movie titled âStorkâ where babies were delivered to the familyâs doorstep.
Alan nodded and pointed at his mother standing next to the tent with a huge pregnancy belly. He said, âLook, thatâs my mommy.
She has a big belly because sheâs growing a baby brother for me in there.â
Reagan suddenly spotted a man with a big potbelly. He giggled and asked, âIs he growing a baby too?â
âNo. Mommy told me only mommyâs can grow babies,â Alan said and Reagan nodded in understanding.
An hour later as the family was returning to their mansion. Reagan suddenly asked his mother, âMommy, can you grow me a baby brother?â
