Give Me a Hand

It was the same as what she had seen last time. He looked just like before, except that this time he seemed even more uncomfortable.

At the very least, Jin Chen had saved her father’s life previously. She could not just stand by and watch.

Su Hanyan took a few steps forward. Grabbing the man’s other hand, she placed it on her shoulder to help support him.

Lu Feifan was shocked by this young lady’s behavior.

Ever since he was born, he had never seen such a bold lady. She did not bother with the fact that it was inconvenient for a man and a woman to be seen together in public and instead placed Jin Chen’s arm on her shoulder.

If she was a female nurse, it would not be hard to accept. After all, the medical staff’s duty was to save the dying and heal the injured. In the eyes of doctors, there were no men or women, only patients.

She clearly was not one…

Seeing that the young doctor was staring at her, Su Hanyan flashed him a bright smile. “Doctor, my comrade, let’s go! I don’t have much strength, so I won’t be able to hold on for too long!”

“Let’s go, let’s go.” He collected his thoughts and answered with a smile. “Thank you!”

“You’re welcome.” As Su Hanyan spoke, she turned to look at Jin Chen. “Still… Do the people in your hospital not care about their lives when it’s busy? Last time, he’s also very tired, and there were dark circles under his eyes… This time, it’s even worse.”

Lu Feifan smiled helplessly. “It can’t be helped. Our hospital is busy, and he’s the best doctor we have. Don’t be fooled by his young age; his skills are top-notch.”

“No wonder he’s so busy…” she muttered softly, “and no wonder his temper is so bad…”

If a normal person was as busy as this and was unable to rest well day after day, their temper would probably turn bad, too.

Lu Feifan could not help but chuckle when he heard her soft murmur. “You can only say that when he is asleep. If he hears it, the consequences will be dire.”

“Not to that extent.” He could not help but laugh. “At most, he will just throw another tantrum, but please be forgiving; we’re really too busy!”

“Mm.” Su Hanyan could understand that.

Doctors were hot-tempered because of their profession. The regular resting time which normal people had was rare to these doctors, who were always rushing to save lives.

It was understandable for a person to have a bad temper when they could not even satisfy their basic needs for food and rest after working under stress for so long.

Jin Chen had both his eyes closed, but he was not asleep.

How could he fall asleep when he was under so much pain? The conversation between the two was, thus, clearly transmitted to him.

If it were any other time, he would definitely lose his temper when he heard such clamoring around him. He did not this time, though, which felt strange.

All the pain he was feeling gradually faded from the moment this lady held his hand.

The ear-piercing ringing and the unbearable headache had gone away completely, too.

The irritation within was gone, replaced by a feeling of peace and harmony.

It was the same as the previous time they met.

At that time, he did not take note and only thought that it was a coincidence, but this time, it could not be a coincidence again, could it? No, it was definitely not!

“Come, give me a hand.” Lu Feifan dragged his friend into the doctors’ on-call room. There was a temporary bed behind a white curtain at the corner. “Let’s put him there and let him have a good rest.”

“Okay.”

Jin Chen did not fall asleep. The moment his body touched the bed, he exerted some force and lay down gently.
