"My eyes..." I say dumbstruck.
I noticed that I had a small golden rim around my pupil and that they had a way darker color then usual. It was barely visible, but if you knew you couldn't avoid it.
"So you finally figured the eyes out. Took you long enough."
"Excuse me?!"
"What?! The guy before you had it all figured out in a matter of hours. Now that was an interesting mortal."
"Well better get used to it because I'm not that guy. Neither have I ever had an immortal in my head."
Athena makes me roll my eyes. I hear a knock on the door.
"Skyler? You okay?" Carol's voice calls out.
"Y-yeah... Just a moment." I respond.
"Will you please let me keep control while I'm around other people?" I plead to Athena.
"Fine, but the moment you start speaking nonsense I'll be taking over again."
"Deal." I say, glad that I would have most control.
I walk out the bathroom and see both Carol and Cristy waiting for me.
"Who were you talking to?" Cristy asks suspicious.
Athena reacts faster then me.
"Just myself."
I want to yell at Athena for taking over, but then I realize...
What would I have said?
"Okaaay weirdo." Carol laughs.
She gives me a strange look, but lets it go.
"Anyways, you guys want anything to eat or drink?"
Cristy is still looking a bit suspicious.
"Yeah, something to eat would be nice." I respond, avoiding Cristy.
We head back to our boot and Carol takes our orders. Cristy ordered her sandwich and I ordered my salad. Both of us also have a coffee.
~line break~
After having lunch we said our goodbyes to Carol and went back on our way home.
As soon as we arrived Cristy plopped on the couch. She mumbled something I didn't quite catch.
"What was that?" I ask.
"Mmm?"
"You were saying something. What did you say?"
"Oh... Urm... Nothing just that I need to remember something." She says almost too quick.
"Okaaay." I head to my study.
I remembered in the car that I still had some work to do.
I enter my study. Papers are everywhere on my desk. One might think a hurricane had just past through here. Yet I knew exactly where everything was.
I took out my computer from underneath a pile of paper and start typing away.
Time passes by and before I knew it it was 6pm. I heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." I reply with my eyes glued to the screen.
"Hey Sky, what's for dinner?" Cristy asks as she comes inside.
"I don't know yet. I'll see what we have in a minute."
"Okay." And with that Cristy leaves again.
I save the document and close my computer. I leave my study and walk to the kitchen. I look in the pantry and fridge but there isn't really anything for a good meal.
"Cris is there anything you want for dinner?!" I yell from the kitchen.
"How about mashed potatoes with some chicken?!" Is the response coming from the living room.
"Sure, I'm gonna have to go to the store first though." I say while walking towards the living room.
Cristy just nods as I walk by to grab my bag. Without any other words I leave.
The store isn't that far away so I decide to just walk. As I walk my headache starts building up again, notifying me of Athena's presence.
With that I also suddenly am in the mood for some olives. It kinda freaks me out considering I hate olives.
"Athena?"
"Mmm?"
She acts surprised.
"What are you planning?" I ask cautiously.
"Oh, it's nothing dear."
"Uhu?"
Athena stays quiet. Part of me is glad because people were starting to give me strange looks, but the other part of me wants to know what Athena is up to. I decide to just ignore it and keep walking.
A few moments later I enter the store. I grab some potatoes and chicken. Also some fruit and other vegetables.
"Say, Skyler would you mind doing something for me?" Athena asks out of nowhere.
"Depends." I respond.
A woman walks by and gives me a strange look.
'Probably cause you're talking to yourself.' It flashed through my mind.
"Could you maybe, just maybe grab some olives for me?" Athena asked.
"Why? It's not like you can eat them?"
"Yeah, but you can..."
"So what? I don't even like them why would I bring them just for you?"
"We share a body now remember? I see what you see, I feel what you feel... I taste what you taste."
"I don't think you heard me. I. Don't. Like. Them."
Again people passing by avoided me. A woman even pushed her child along and told the kid not to look.
"Fine. Then I'll go get them myself."
I felt all control slip away. I tried fighting the icey feeling I get when she takes control over my body. I couldn't fight it though. I was watching my own body from a third person's point of view.
Except this wasn't my body. Not really. My hair was a little longer and my jawline sharper.
"Is this what you look like Athena?"
I saw the woman speak the words. It was weird hearing my voice, but seeing it come from a totally different body.
"My features yes."
"Wow...you're... Pretty." I say a little dased by the beautiful woman.
I shouldn't be surprised though. She's a goddess after all.
I see her walk though the reyons of the store, until she finds what she's looking for.
When she does she takes everything we(?) bought and pays for it. Only when we are halfway home I feel my mind shift and my body is my own again.
"Is that what you always see, but then with my body?" I ask Athena.
"Yes." is all she says.
I walk home, both in awe and creeped out by what I just experienced.
HI guys. We have another update for you! It's been a while we're aware, but we're kinda busy with school these days so yeah. Also sorry these chapters are a little slow, but we kinda wanna show you how Skyler adjusts to Athena and what Athena is capable of doing. The good things are still yet to come trust us ;).
