Athena's pov:

Hestia and I ran out of the elevator and into the labyrinth of hallways in front of us. We'd have a couple of minutes at best before Oizys would have her goons spreading out and searching the entire grounds.

"What do we do?" Hestia asked as we hid behind a corner.

"I'm thinking." I reply, peaking around the wall. They aren't here yet, but I can hear them getting closer.

"Can't we fight them?" Skyler makes me say.

"No there's too many."

"But I have my flames." Sam's voice argues.

"You barely have the flame of a candle kid. There's no way you can take them out." I shoot him down.

It earns me a scowl from Hestia, but I don't care right now. I'm not bringing that child in danger because he thinks he can toast a bunch of goons.

"Can't Hestia strengthen his flames?" Skyler suggests, not completely giving up on the idea.

"We don't have the energy to. In order to do that he'd have to be fully rested and in perfect shape." Hestia shook her head.

"What about Athena. Can't she summon her soldiers and make them do something good for once?" Sam mimiqued my tone from when I shot him down.

"Same problem kiddo." I scoff.

I peak around the corner again. To my horror I can see them getting closer. We have to buy ourselves some time. Make it harder for them to follow.

"Move, quietly, but fast. Come on!"

At my command Hestia and I sneak to our next hiding spot.

Oizys' pov:

There is nothing quite so thrilling as to see the pure fear in your enemies eyes. Especially if that enemy is the famed wisdom goddess Athena.

"Now what boss?" A satyr asked.

"They disappeared into the cave systems."

I smirk. They're trapped and they know it.

"Keep a couple of guys up here. The rest of you goes down with me." I order, walking up to the elevator.

"Mistress. We can't all fit into the elevator can we?" A cyclops asked behind me.

I roll my eyes. I expected this. The people I work with are such idiots.

"Go in groups you idiot!"

I flash my eyes at him. A sign they all know. A sign to tell them they shouldn't test my patience.

Hestia's pov:

Athena as usual picked the most strategic hiding spots. We sat right next to a group of guys. She signed me to be silent. Obviously.

She peaked around the corner and snuck forward. I didn't even hear her move. I crouched to her earlier spot so I could see what she was doing. In a few quick and deadly silent moves the four guys were down. Athena joined me again behind the corner.

"Are they... You know." I ask in a hushed tone.

"No. They'll live. But they won't bother us anymore either." She replied.

The thing that scares me the most is the ease and silence the goddess in front of me used to take those men down. As if it didn't even bother her. As if she'd never done anything else.

"There's more coming."

Without another word Athena disappeared again. Total silence for a couple of moments and she was back in front of me.

"We have to keep moving come on." She whispered.

She pushed me along and I could feel Sam struggle within me. He didn't want to listen to the scary lady. He wanted me to tell him everything would be alright, but I couldn't make him a promise I couldn't uphold.

"So what's your plan. Taking out the patrols one by one?" I question as we sit in our next spot.

"There's not much of a choice is there?" Athena replies, not even looking at me.

"There is no way you can keep that up! Besides, think of your host."

"She'll be fine."

"No she won't. After all she just went through, this is about the stupidest thing you can do." I whisper yell at her.

"I know what I'm doing!" Athena replies at the same tone.

I grab her wrist. She can't be serious here! Sometimes you need to press Athena's nose on the matter at hand. She tends to skip over a lot of problems if they seem small enough. But all those small problems usually end up becoming one big problem.

"Really?! Because it seems to me you're missing a couple of key points he-"

I stop mid-sentence. I swallow hard as I see who is standing behind the grey eyes goddess.

"Well hello. Look who we found here." A woman's voice says.

It's chilly and sends shivers down my spine. I feel Sam freeze with fear. There is only one woman, one goddess, who has this effect.

Oizys.

Before Athena can even do anything. Oizys has her pinned up against the wall.

"Fancy seeing you here princess." She cackled.

"It's about time we met eye to eye once again. You and I have some unfinished business as I recall."

"I recall our fight being finished." Athena smirked.

Oizys releases a growl as she lunges forward. No, I can't let her hurt Athena! I ignore Sam's screaming voice inside my head as I too lunge forward. I push my shoulder in Oizys' side and rely on my momentum to knock her down. Surprisingly I was successful.

"Thanks." I hear the mixed voice of Skyler and Athena say.

I nod at them and grab their wrist, pulling them along through the hallway.

"Oh no you don't!" I hear Oizys yell behind me.

When I take a look over my shoulder I see she's already chasing us.

"Stop them!" The goddess of misery screams at whoever is on her side.

"Hestia, watch out!" Athena warns.

Too late. I hit my head against something hard. It hurts so much. Black spots are dancing in front of my eyes. What was that? Athena kneels next to me. Since when do we have two Athena's? Or is that Skyler? But they're the same right? The last thing I see is Oizys' smirk as she drags Athena up by pulling her hair.

"Thought you could escape misery huh?"
