Athena's POV:
It was rather painful to watch how a twenty two year old gets beaten by a nine year old. Especially when that nine year old is armed with a stick that is twice his size.
I could feel the stinging pain in Skyler's upper arm and leg.
This was bad. Seeing Oisys again had made me realise that this conflict isn't over yet. It also made me realise how little Skyler actually knows.
Suddenly Sam rolled behind Skyler and poked her in the back with the stick.
She fell face forward to the ground. I was too late to do anything about it.
"Auww.." she moaned.
Hades' dark laughter filled the room.
"Oh this is rich." His voice boomed.
"Athena... With a person... Who can't even dodge... A f*cking nine year old with a stick."
Ocasionlly the laugh stopped as Raymond tried to get in control, but he couldn't push Hades away.
When he finally got the control back he got to Skyler who had rolled over so she was on her back.
She wrapped her arms across her face as Ray kneeled down beside her.
"I'm sorry about that Skyler. But there is nothing to be ashamed of. All of us started out like this. We can work on this I promise."
Skyler didn't respond. She felt hurt by Hades' words.
'Don't let Hades get to you.' I tell her.
'It's not worth it. You have other skills.'
"Like what?" Skyler asks out loud, making Raymond raise a brow.
'Like designing. Hades couldn't even come up with a design if his life depended on it. Yet you, day in day out, start a sketch from scratch and design the most beautiful houses and the tallest skyscrapers.'
I can tell she doesn't want to but Skyler smiles.
A warm and proud feeling fills her entire body. There we go. That's a lot better.
Raymond notices the energy change and helps Skyler up of the ground.
"One last thing and then we're done here I promise." He says.
Skyler just nods. I can tell she just wants this to be over.
Skyler's POV:
"The last part is special abilities that come with the gods themselves." Hestia explains.
"For example." Hades continues.
Raymond walks to middle of the room and stomps his cane on the ground. His eyes light up with a white light. Immediately boney hands break from underneath the ground.
A minute later an entire skeleton army is standing in the same room as all of us.
I am officially terrified. A dozen of skeleton warriors started at me with empty eye sockets.
At Ray's command they marched a few steps forward as if they had one mind. Then he made them move back and eventually back into the ground where they came from.
The only proof that they had been here was the actual holes in the ground. That and the adrenaline I got from the fear. If I ever needed someone for Halloween decoration I guess I'll just call Raymond and Hades.
Raymond's eyes stopped glowing, but I noticed he was severely leaning on his cane for support. The skeletons had barely been here for five minutes and it seemed to have completely drained him. Imagine how tired he'd be if he actually took them into battle.
"You're turn little man." Raymond said to Sam.
Sam nodded. He held his hands together as if he was praying. A moment later his eyes shot open, with the same white light I saw in Raymond's eyes moments before.
As he took his hands apart a small flame started growing in between. It became a small ball of fire.
Sam made the little ball roll over his palm. Then up his wrist, twisting around his arm all the way to his shoulder.
Next the little ball rolled across to his other shoulder. Spiraling down his other arm back into his palm.
Once the little flame was there he folded his hands together again. As the flame faded so did the white light in his eyes.
"Wow.." I breathed.
"That was quite impressive."
Sam gave me a little smile.
"You've been practicing haven't you?" Raymond winked at the little boy.
"What do you think I do by the fire each night?"
Sam grinned from ear to ear as raymond ruffled with his hand through his hair.
I smiled. It looked adorable. Suddenly both of them looked at me.
"What can you do?" Sam asked.
"Urm... I.. Don't know..." I reply honestly.
"Then it's a good thing I do." Athena said.
Raymond's POV:
Now this is something I'm curious about. I've heard so many stories about Athena from the other gods.
They told me all about how she can give an entire army the strength of three. How she fearlessly marches into battle, knowing she'll be victorious.
Zeus above all likes to brag about her. Hades never likes it when he's on a rant again, but I actually find it interesting to see each god's diffrent abilities.
Skyler seems hesitant at first, but the moment Athena takes over all of that melts away like snow in the sun.
The white light that I know all too well shines from Skyler's eyes. As she focuses I feel Athena's aura flowing into the earth.
At first nothing happens. Then slowly Skyler raises her hands. From each of the holes of my skeleton warriors grows a small tree. Not just any tree. An olive tree.
"Typical Athena. It's always olives and olive trees with her." Hades snorts in my head.
"Shut up, she isn't done yet." I reply.
Hades just grunts.
In a matter of minutes each of the trees is fully grown. And at the twist of Skyler's wrist the branches start moving.
Athena's aura is overflowing the room. It's incredibly strong. One I've only felt within the big three gods. Hades, Zeus and Poseidon.
The trunk of the trees starts moving too now. I'm speechless as I look at what's happening in front of me. Slowly, but steadily these trees turn into soldiers. Each of them had a helmet with a blue plume and a blue cape.
I can only imagine the amounts of energy this must cost. I blink for a second and the transformation is completed. Right there in the middle of the room stands a dozen Athenian soldiers to attendance, waiting for orders.
The next moment the light dissappears from Skyler's eyes and she drops to her knees holding her head.
My mouth drops. This is insane. Even for my standards.
