Bondita's Pov

We spun around to see Anirudh

standing behind us, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. I felt a little shiver run down my spine as his intense gaze landed on me.

"Hey Anirudh," Aman greeted him with a friendly smile, unaware of the tension in the air. "What's up?"

Anirudh's eyes flicked between Alya, Aman, and me, a hint of anger in his expression. "I could ask you the same question," he said coldly. "What are you all doing here?"

"We were just chatting," I replied with a shrug, trying to sound nonchalant. "Is there a problem?"

Anirudh's gaze flicked to me, and I could see a hint of irritation in his eyes. "No problem," he muttered. "I just didn't expect to find my best friend hanging out with you that's all."

He said the last sentence with a hint of disdain in his voice, his eyes locking with mine for a brief moment. I felt a pang of defensiveness, but I held my ground and met his gaze firmly.

"What's wrong with me?" I retorted, my voice laced with a hint of defiance. "We're just having a friendly chat."

Anirudh smirked, his usual cocky attitude returning. "Friendly chat, huh?" he said. "I wouldn't call spending time with two girls a 'friendly chat', but whatever floats your boat."

I bristled at his words, feeling my irritation grow. "What's it to you anyway?" I shot back, my tone sharper than I intended. "You don't own us. We can hang out with whoever we want."

He chuckled darkly, clearly amused by my reaction. "Oh, don't get your panties in a twist, sweetheart," he said, his voice silky smooth. "I was just stating the obvious. Are you sure you're not getting too cosy with my best friend here?"

"Bhai bhai, tu galat samaj raha hain. Teri bandi tu hih sambhal. Main toh ushe apni behen bana raha tha" I glare at Aman's comment.

Anirudh's expression darkened. "Shut it," he snapped at Aman. "I don't need you to give me advice on who I should be worried about."

There was a hint of possessiveness in his tone that sent a shiver down my spine. Why was he so bothered about who I was talking to?

"Chill, man," Aman said, clearly trying to diffuse the tension. "We were just having a harmless conversation. No need to get all worked up about it."

Anirudh's jaw tensed, but he didn't say anything. He shot a glare in my direction, seemingly wanting to say something else but holding himself back.

"Fine," he said finally, his voice cool and controlled. "But keep your distance, okay? You don't want to get too comfortable around my best friend." He said looking at me.

I rolled my eyes at his words, feeling a mix of irritation and amusement at his possessiveness. "Why, are you afraid I might steal your best friend away from you?" I asked, my voice dripping with sarcasm.

Anirudh's jaw clenched, and I could tell my words had hit a nerve. He stepped closer to me, his face inches from mine. "Don't test me, sweetheart," he said, his voice low and dangerous.

Despite my best efforts to remain composed, I couldn't help but flinch slightly at how close he was to me. His eyes were burning into mine, filled with a mixture of anger and some other emotion that I couldn't quite identify.

"Guys Guys!!" We were interrupted by Alya, who spoke up, trying to break the growing tension between me and Anirudh.

"Aman main tumse baad main milti hu, abhi hamari class hain. Bye, guys." I willingly let Alya pull me away from Anirudh, relieved to put some distance between us. As we walked away, I couldn't help but glance back over my shoulder, catching sight of Anirudh's intense gaze following us as we left.

Once we were out of earshot, Alya turned to me with a grin. "Damn, that was intense," she said, shaking her head. "What's going on between you and bhai, huh?"

I shrugged, trying to play it cool. "Nothing is going on between us," I said firmly. "He's just being his usual pain-in-the-ass self."

Third-person POV.

"Kya tha wo? Meri behen tujshe kyu milegi baad main?" Anirudh asked his friend curiously.

"W-wo yeah sab chor tu bata. Tete aur Bondita ka kya chal raha hain. But bolna parega bhabi hain toh khubsurat."

Anirudh let out a gruff chuckle at his friend's words. "Pagal hai kya? Kuch nahi hai humara. She means nothing to me." His tone was nonchalant, trying to convince himself more than anyone else.

"Are you sure?" His friend pressed on, a hint of scepticism in his voice.

"Haa, bilkul sure hoon," Anirudh replied firmly. "She's just another girl in our class. Nothing more, nothing less."

Ok then, I'm taking back my words for making her my sister. Because now I will directly date her!"

Anirudh's expression darkened at his friend's words. "What do you mean you're going to date her? She's off limits for you."

"Why? Are you suddenly interested in her?" His friend raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips.

"Of course not," Anirudh retorted. "I just... Don't want you getting involved with her, okay?"

His friend chuckled. "Why? You're sounding awfully possessive, bhai..."

"I'm not being possessive!" Anirudh snapped, irritation lacing his voice. "I just know you. You'll break her heart, just like you do with every other girl you date."

"Oh, so now you're her knight in shining armour, huh?" His friend teased, clearly enjoying getting under Anirudh's skin.

Anirudh gritted his teeth, clearly fighting to keep his temper in check. "I'm just looking out for her, okay? She deserves better than you."

"And you think you're better than me?" His friend asked a hint of challenge in his voice.

"When it comes to treating women right, yes, I am better than you," Anirudh replied, his voice firm.

There was a tense silence between them, and then his friend let out a loud bark of laughter. "Dude, seriously, what is going on with you? Are you falling for this girl or something?"

"What? No, of course not!" Anirudh shot back quickly, his eyes darting around as if terrified someone might overhear.

His friend chuckled again, clearly not convinced. "Yeah, right. You're just getting all protective and possessive over a girl you claim to mean nothing to you. I'm calling it now, bhai, you're falling for her."

Anirudh's face turned red with anger. "I am not falling for her! I don't feel anything for her! She's just... She's just an ordinary girl, okay? There's nothing special about her."

"But you're acting like there is," His friend pointed out, a knowing glint in his eye. "Why else would you be getting so worked up about the idea of me dating her?"

Anirudh clenched his jaw, struggling to find a response. "I... I just don't want to see her getting hurt, that's all," he muttered, his voice softer this time.

His friend's smirk widened. "See, you do care about her. And if you care about her, that means there are feelings involved."

Anirudh's expression darkened. "Shut up, okay? I don't have feelings for her. She's just a girl in my class, nothing more. Alright?"

His friend chuckled, clearly not buying his denial. "Keep telling yourself that, bhai. But I know what I see. You're falling hard for her, and you don't even realise it yet."

Anirudh let out a frustrated growl. "I have had enough of this. I don't have feelings for her, and I never will. So you can drop this whole 'falling for her' nonsense, alright?"

His friend held up his hands in surrender. "Fine, fine, if you say so, bhai. But don't say I didn't warn you when you finally realise the truth about your feelings for her."

Anirudh rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed at his friend's persistence. "Whatever. Can we please change the topic now?"

His friend smirked but mercifully decided to change the subject. "Alright, if you say so. But remember, I'm always here to say 'I told you so' when the time comes."
