Bondita's Pov

"Bondita!! Now Spill the beans." Alia is after me since yesterday.

"What do you mean?" I asked, feigning ignorance. I knew what we were talking about—Anirudh, our encounter, and everything that had happened between the two of us.

"Don't play innocent now," she scolded me, her voice laced with a hint of curiosity. "I can see the sparks flying between you two from a mile away. Spill the tea, girl."

I sighed, knowing I wouldn't be able to fool her. "Trust me, there's nothing really to say." I said, trying to brush off her inquiries.

"And please there is nothing between us. Chakal dekha hain apne bhai ki? Pata nehi kya samajta hain wo apne aap ko!"

Alya raised an eyebrow, not quite believing my words.

"So Madam ko mera Chera pasand nehi hain?"

Anirudh had been standing nearby, listening to our conversation intently. I could feel his gaze fixed on me, a mixture of curiosity and skepticism in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes in irritation. "Your face is not the problem here." I shot back at him. "Besides, why would I want to care about how you look?"

He smirked at my response, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Oh, so you do admit you care." He said, his voice laced with a hint of triumph.

"Are you deaf Mr Anirudh Hazarika! I said I DO NOT CARE!"

His smirk widened. "Sure you don't." He said, his tone dripping with smugness. I felt my temper flare, my fists clenching in frustration at his insolent attitude.

"Stop assuming things," I snapped, my voice rising slightly. "I'm sick and tired of your constant arrogance. You're not irresistible, you know."

"Guys! Have you forgotten me!? I'm also here " I spun around, slightly startled to find Alya still there beside us. I had been so caught up in the banter with Anirudh that I had almost forgotten we weren't alone.

"Sorry," I muttered, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Meanwhile, Anirudh chuckled softly, enjoying the sight of me being flustered.

"This is quite amusing," he commented, his eyes never leaving me. "I have never seen you so flustered before, Bondita. It's almost endearing."

"So what Mr Anirudh just leave me alone!"

He raised an eyebrow at my impudent tone, but his smirk remained in place. "Oh, so you're giving me orders now, are you?" he retorted, his voice dripping with condescension.

"Yes, Do you have any problem?"

"Not at all," he said, his smirk turning into a full-blown smile. "I actually like a little challenge. So, keep giving me orders, sweetheart."

Y-you! Just Stay away!'' I pushed him away from me and Pulled Alya.

"Let's go"  Alya stumbled a little as I towed her away from Anirudh, his smirk never leaving his face as he watched us walk away. He let out a low chuckle, clearly amused by my defiance.

"Tumhare bhai ke pas aur koyi kam nehi hain kya mujhe parisaan karne ke alawa?"

"Pata nehi," Alya said, shaking her head. "Bhai ke dimaag me kabhi kabhi kuch bhi chal jata hain."

"And I'm sorry yeah sab mere wajah se ho raha hain?" She added.

"Are you crazy?" I responded, a chuckle escaping my lips. "Why are you sorry for something that's out of your control? You didn't start all of this—it's that cocky jerk who started everything."

''B-bu-- "

I cut her off, shaking my head. "No buts. This isn't your fault, no matter what Anirudh might say."

"Alya!"

We both turned to see a tall, handsome man approach us. He had strong, chiselled features andpiercing brown eyes, and was clearly of Bengali descent. A hint of excitement flickered in Alya's eyes as he waved hello. This must be her boyfriend, I concluded.

"Hey, Aman," Alya greeted him with a warm smile, clearly happy to see him. "What're you doing here?"

"I thought I'd surprise you," Aman replied, his eyes gleaming with affection as he gazed at Alya. "And who's your friend here?"

"This is my best friend Bondita," Alya introduced me. "We're in the same class together." I gave Aman a polite smile and shook his outstretched hand.

"It's nice to meet you, Bondita," Aman said, his voice friendly and warm. "I've heard a lot about you from Anirudh."

My heart skipped a beat as soon as he mentioned Anirudh's name. Why was everyone bringing him up these days? "Oh...You know him?" I asked, trying to sound casual.

"Yes, He is my best friend"

I felt a sense of tension in my stomach upon hearing his words. It seemed like I couldn't escape Anirudh no matter how hard I tried. "I see...That's nice." I replied, trying to keep my voice steady.

"I have a question,'' I said to Aman.

" Ask away"

How came a sweet guy like you be friend with that arrogant jerk?"

Aman chuckled softly. "Anirudh isn't as bad as he seems," he said. "He may have a tough exterior, but deep down, he has a good heart. He's like a brother to me."

I raised an eyebrow, not quite convinced by Aman's words. I had seen a different side of Anirudh, one that was cold and arrogant. It was hard for me to see him as anything other than a jerk. But I held my tongue, not wanting to offend Aman.

"Besides," Aman continued, "he's always there for me when I need him the most. He might come off as a jerk sometimes, but deep down, he cares about the people he's close to. And trust me, when he does care, he cares deeply."

I smiled politely.

"WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?"

We spun around to see Anirudh standing behind us, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. I felt a little shiver run down my spine as his intense gaze landed on me.
