Chapter 9: 209. The Alliance

That night, the driving lasted for a long time. Qi Le’an’s heart was in his throat. There were five adults altogether in the small car. Luckily, Er Niu fell asleep due to exhaustion.

At one o’clock in the morning, the five people arrived at the nearest city to the village. There were volunteers waiting for them at the appointed hotel.

The rain had stopped and Qi Le’an was exhausted. He carried Er Niu and got out of the car. The female volunteers who were waiting for him quickly took Er Niu from Qi Le’an. Qi Le’an said, “She’s drenched in the rain. Change her clothes. Check her if she needs some medicine.”

The volunteers took the girl and said, “I’ll bring her up now. Thank you for your hard work; get some rest!”

Qi Le’an shook his head, indicating his courtsey. He asked another person, “Where’s He Guang?”

No one answered. The driver who had driven the tank said, “The rain is so heavy. He might still be on the road. He called the police station in advance.I hope nothing would happen to him.

Qi Le’an was not reassured by this answer. It was raining so much… Would the police go out to save He Guang?

The few people waited for more than ten minutes before the second car came back with two volunteers. He Guang was still not on the car.

“Why don’t you go up and rest first?” The volunteers said, “You have been busy for a whole day. If I get He Guang’s news, I’ll inform you immediately.”

It wasn’t helpful to wait on, so everyone went back to their room first.

By the time Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng lay down on the bed, it was almost three in the morning, but there was still no news of He Guang.

Qi Le’an lay beside Wei Changfeng and listened to the buzzing sound of the air conditioner.

“What are you thinking about?” Wei Changfeng said softly.

“I’m thinking about… Wei Sama didn’t even have time to eat the birthday cake.”

Wei Changfeng’s birthday had passed. This must be the worst birthday Wei Sama had ever had in all these years. Qi Le’an sighed at this thought.

“We rescued a child today,” Wei Changfeng looked at Qi Le’an beside him and said, “We saved a family.”

He kissed Qi Le’an and they seemed to have the damp smell of the storm on their bodies, “This is much better than a birthday party.”

Qi Le’an was tickled by Wei Changfeng and couldn’t help laughing.

He smiled and found that Wei Changfeng was silent.

Wei Sama fell asleep.

Qi Le’an looked at Wei Changfeng who had already closed his eyes with surprise. He did not expect that Wei Sama was already asleep.

He gently kissed Wei Changfeng and closed his eyes to think that everyone must be very tired today.

In Wei Changfeng’s even breathing, Qi Le’an fell asleep as well.

Even though he was very tired that night, Qi Le’an woke up in less than five hours. He stood up and looked at his phone, realizing that it was only eight in the morning.

On the side, Wei Changfeng was still asleep. Qi Le’an washed his face and walked out of the door.

Seeing that Qi Le’an was up so early, Tingting was shocked and asked, “You’re awake? I thought that you guys would still have more sleep.”

Qi Le’an shook his head and asked, “How’s He Guang?”

“He’s not back yet… but he sent a text to report that he was safe last night. He had contacted the local police.”

Qi Le’an felt a little relieved, so he asked, “Where’s Er Niu?”

Tingting sighed and said, “She’s not crying. But she still treats us as outsiders. Uncle Zhu and his family are already on their way; they can arrive at noon.”

Things are not good or bad, but everything was always going in the direction of hope.

“Thank you this time… Do you want to see Er Niu with us together?”

Qi Le’an was idle too, so he went upstairs to check on Er Niu.

Er Niu still recognized Qi Le’an, but Qi Le’an didn’t know if he had been classified as a “bad person”. Qi Le’an played with the girl for a while and received a text from Wei Changfeng.

After replying to Wei Changfeng’s text, Qi Le’an left Er Niu and went downstairs. In the room, Wei Changfeng had already washed up and changed into clean clothes.

“How is it?” He asked, “Is there any news from He Guang?”

Qi Le’an shook his head and said, “I only received a message to report that he was safe.”

Wei Changfeng also couldn’t help but sigh, afraid that something might happen to He Guang.

At noon, Uncle Zhu and his family came over with the help of the volunteers. Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng witnessed the reunion that was not very happy. Er Niu’s mother hugged the child and cried. Er Niu’s father almost knelt down to thank the volunteers, but Er Niu herself was frightened by this scene and kept crying.

Qi Le’an looked at it and felt very complicated in his heart.

He thought, this might be “scent of life” mentioned by Elder Ge. To learn the most appropriate emotion, an actor must experience it in real life.

The next day, He Guang was sent back by the police at noon. When he came back, his head had been turned into a pineapple bun. Everyone was shocked, but He Guang said, “It’s alright! It’s alright!”

The police who went to pick him up were from the nearby city, and they were well aware of the abduction of children in the coastal villages. However, they were helpless about it, so they could only provide some help afterwards.

“You can leave with the child quickly,” the police advised, “When they find out where you are, it will be difficult to leave. Taking their daughter was to break their income of the family!

“This IS the daughter of their own family.” He Guang said to the police when he smiled.

The police officer shook his head and said, “They are unreasonable people. You’d better not argue with them. Let’s go now!”

Actually, everyone had already booked a ticket to Hai City that night. He Guang smiled and said to the police, “Thank you for your help.”

Without the police, it would be difficult for him to leave the village.

The police did not say anything. They left and watched He Guang in the distance, “What a man!”

In the afternoon, the volunteers gathered together for a simple celebration. Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng also participated. The two of them were highly praised by the volunteer team. Some even invited them to take part in long-term rescue missions, but they were refused by He Guang.

He Guang said, “Don’t make a fuss! Changfeng and Le’an have their own jobs! They come here just for an experience!”

Tingting asked curiously, “Will you really shoot a movie about this?”

Wei Changfeng looked at everyone’s expectant gazes and said, “I have plans…  but I’m not certain if I can succeed.”

A volunteer said, “You are the Best Actor! If you say you can succeed, then of course you can!”

Everyone laughed.

Wei Changfeng said that he had plans, and he was not boasting. On the day he returned to Hai City, he didn’t even go home. He went straight to the house to talk to He Guang. Qi Le’an wanted to send Er Niu home, so he didn’t follow him. However, Wei Changfeng told him a lot when he came back at night.

“There is an alliance of finding the lost children in Hai City,” Wei Changfeng said, “They will hold regular gatherings to encourage each other, and they also organize tours. If the police manage to solve any large-scale human trafficking cases, they will go over to check it out.”

Qi Le’an met the Zhu Family today. Everyone came to express their blessings when they heard that the child had been found. This kind of big occasion shocked Qi Le’an. He said, “Looking for a child is indeed changing a family.”

Wei Changfeng was massaging Qi Le’an’s shoulder. Qi Le’an was holding Er Niu all the way yesterday; his arms were a little sore.

“I’m going to this visit this alliance to take a look…to collect some materials.”

Qi Le’an sat cross-legged on the bed while Wei Changfeng massaged him.

He thought about it. This topic was good enough to shock people and publicize positive energy. It didn’t need much production; as long as the script was good, it could move people.

What’s more, if they really did it, they might be able to help those families!

“Is there anything I need to do?” asked Qi Le’an.

Wei Changfeng pressed Qi Le’an’s shoulder heavily. Qi Le’an squinted and Wei Sama said, “How about being my male lead?”

“I’ll be your male lead of your life,” Qi Le’an said.

The two of them was tickling each other happily again.

The next day, with the guidance of He Guang, Wei Changfeng came into contact with this small, hidden circle. Most of the people in the alliance didn’t want to share their experiences; the only wanted to share it with people who were in the same pain.

It took Wei Changfeng nearly a week to gain the trust of most people, thanks to his participation in Er Niu’s rescue.

Qi Le’an also had a new job. Coolrunning wanted him to shoot a national advertisement for the new product.

The two of them started to get busy again. After the advertisement shooting ended, “Lala Land”, which was led by Qi Le’an, was officially released overseas as well as in Hongkong and Taiwan.

“Lala Land” was like a flowing spring. It was quiet in the first three days after it was released, but it came to an uproar after that, as if the flowing spring finally accumulated into a huge wave.

A week later, “Lala Land” recieved great reviews on the Internet, and the audience in Hongkong and Taiwan loved it very much. Some of Qi Le’an’s fans even went to Hong Kong to watch the movie. After they finished watching, they broke into tears and shared their photos on Weibo, saying that Le’an was so handsome.

Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng also took time to go to Taiwan to watch the movie in a small cinema full of artistic atmosphere.

The domestic video websites took actions quickly, and immediately bought the copyrights from the company in the United States. Three months later, the audience in Chinese mainland would also be able to watch “Lala Land” in cinemas.

Tresse was full of praise when he called, “An! I’ll sign a contract with companies in Chinese mainland next week!”

When Qi Le’an heard that Tresse was about to fly to China, he was surprised. “Why didn’t they fly to America to sign the contract?”

Tresse laughed and said, “I miss you and Fynn! I want to see you!”

Qi Le’an thought to himself, ‘you just want to come and play.’

“The movie is a blockbuster in America, Enda and Emma both asked me to bring you their gifts and wishes! By the way, when are you going back to New York City?”

Qi Le’an looked at Wei Changfeng, who was transferring the audios from a recording pen to his computer, and said, “It’ll take a long time…”

Tresse asked, “How long can it be? You will have to come back when you accept the Oscar Award!”

Qi Le’an felt amused when he heard Tresse’s joke.

With a wonderful director like Tresse, would Wei Sama’s movie make a greater progress?
