Chapter 8: 208. Taking Actions

Qi Le’an walked to the side of the table with a stern face. Wei Changfeng was talking to the village head about the movie shooting.

Qi Le’an suddenly grabbed the bowl on the table and slammed it onto the ground. This was not enough, and then he kicked the table in front of him.

The old wooden table couldn’t bear this kick and it collapsed immediately. There was a loud sound when the dishes were smashed to the ground.

Everyone was startled by this move and their eyes were focused on Qi Le’an.

The volunteers squinted and walked to the children.

The children were also attracted by this noise, and they stared at Qi Le’an.

“This… what’s wrong?” The villager head was afraid, “What’s wrong?”

Qi Le’an looked at Wei Changfeng and the others coldly, then he turned to leave.

“Le’an!” Wei Changfeng yelled, but Qi Le’an was did not answer.

Wei Changfeng gave everyone an apologetic look and went out to chase after Qi Le’an!

At this moment, the volunteers made their move and said to the children, “Which one of you will help to bring me a glass of water? Whoever does it will get a red envelope!”

The children also knew about the red envelope which contained money in it, so they quickly ran away, and the volunteer said, “Er Niu!”

Er Niu turned her head and the volunteer said, “Come, come to Sis.”

At the door, Wei Changfeng turned around and said anxiously, “Le’an is gone! Help me him please!”

He Guang cooperated him and shouted, “How can he disappear? Did he drive away?”

“The car hasn’t moved!” The anxiety on Wei Changfeng’s face looked so real, “It’s already dark… It’s dangerous to go out! Everyone, please look for him!”

Originally, no one thought there was anything wrong with darkness, but the expression on Wei Changfeng’s face made everyone anxious. He Guang said, “Hurry up and help find Qi Le’an! If he is missing, everyone has to face a lawsuit and there will be no movies!”

This sentence stunned everyone. The scene became chaotic and only the volunteers whispered gently to the girl, “Er Niu, Sister has left the red envelopes in the car. Let’s go and get them. What do you think?”

Er Niu nodded timidly and the volunteers asked, “Then Sister will carry you over?”

When the volunteers saw that no one was looking over, they immediately grabbed Er Niu and walked towards the backyard. There was more than one door in the village. Yu Sheng’s yard also had a back door. There were volunteers waiting there long ago and they brought Er Niu into the car.

All of this happened in a minute. Wei Changfeng and He Guang were taking people out and they got into the car with the volunteers when villagers did not notice them. The village head had everyone look for Qi Le’an. No one realized that a child had disappeared!

It wasn’t until three minutes later that Er Niu’s brother and her friends returned and suddenly realized Er Niu had disappeared.

“Er Niu is gone!” Er Niu’s brother called out.

The grandmother, who was in charge of taking care of Er Niu, was still talking to people in the front yard. How could she hear the little boy’s voice? The grandmother disliked this little boy and never gave him a good look. The little boy gritted his teeth and ran to the house to find his mother.

His mother wasn’t in the house.

The boy shouted, “Where’s my mother!”

In the house, there were a few women who came to help. One of them looked up and asked, “Your  sister should be playing in the backyard! This place is chaotic. Get out!

The boy bit his lip and ran out of the courtyard. It turned out that they did not listen to him at all. Most of the men followed the village head out to find Qi Le’an, leaving only a few women cleaning up the table that Qi Le’an had turned over.

“What a waste!” The boy’s mother, Yu Sheng’s wife, was picking up the food on the ground and said, “This movie star is silent in normal days, but I didn’t expect him to have such a temper!”

“Movie stars are all like this!” On the side, her good friend said, “As long as they give you the money… Oh yes, they must have given you a lot of money, right?”

“Hey!” Yu Sheng’s wife smiled and said, “Don’t listen to people’s gossips… Han’er! Why are you here? Where’s your sister?”

The little boy named Han’er was pale as he looked at his mother.

He remembered that before Er Niu came to their house, he could enjoy all the good food and toys. Later, Er Niu came to his home, and he was often scolded for not taking good care of his younger sister.

Then he didn’t dare to speak anymore. He heard that his sister could earn the dowry for the family as a big fortune in the future, but he didn’t know what “dowry” meant.

The face of Yu Sheng’s wife turned pale as well. She put the things in her hand down and ran to the backyard, shouting, “Mom! Where’s Er Niu?!”

The grandmother saw her anxious expression and said, “She isn’t here… Where’s Er Niu? Did you see Er Niu?!”

All the children around shook their heads. Yu Sheng’s wife felt like she was in a trance and her eyes were turning dark. She turned around and found her son. She shook the little boy and said, “Where’s your sister?! Where’s Er Niu?! Where is your sister?!”

The boy was so scared that he cried and couldn’t say a word.

Yu Sheng’s wife stood up and shouted, “Yu Sheng! Yu Sheng! Our daughter is gone!”

But she could not see her husband in the courtyard. Her man had gone out to look for Qi Le’an.

Yu Sheng’s wife immediately fell to the ground.

Too late… too late! The thing she was worried about most had happened. The daughter she bought had been taken away!

At this moment, Er Niu, who was already sitting in the volunteer’s car, realized that something was wrong and started to struggle desperately. The volunteers locked the door and window and said to the driver, “Hurry up and drive the car! We must leave this place before they find out!”

Er Niu was shouting and crying, while the volunteer coaxed him, “Zixuan, good girl… Sis is taking you to find Mommy!”

The eight year old girl didn’t react at all when she heard the word “Zixuan”, which was her original name before she was kidnapped.

The volunteers couldn’t help but cry.

It was only the first step for them to help these abducted children return to their homes.

Wei Changfeng and Qi Le’an were already in the car. He Guang said to the driver out of the car, “Hurry up and leave!”

Qi Le’an asked, “What about you?”

He Guang glanced at the people in the distance and said, “It will cause suspicion if we all leave here! You! Hurry up and leave! Tingting had already taken the child away in another car!” Tingting was the volunteer who was holding the girl.

Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng looked at each other. He Guang said, “Don’t worry! I have my own way to leave.”

From afar, Yu Sheng had already known that his daughter was gone. He took two steps while crying out, “Fu*k the outsiders! It must be them! Shooting movie my ass! They are coming to steal the child!”

Yu Sheng gritted his teeth and said to a man around him, “Shui Niu, drive the car! Let’s chase them back! Drive down the small road! They won’t be too far away!”

The people on the side agreed, and the village head also clapped his hands, “Yes! Chase them back!”

The three cars of the volunteers had already rushed towards the direction of Guangzhou in darkness, and one car was left behind to block the road by He Guang himself.

As soon as they saw He Guang’s car, the villagers started throwing things to the car and shouted, “Son of b*tch! Give back the child to us!”

He Guang had called the police half an hour ago, saying that a case would happened here. It would take at least an hour for the police to arrive. In other words, he still had to hold on for half an hour.

He Guang looked at his digital watch. It was a little worn out. It was a present his uncle gave him.

He Guang took a deep breath and opened the door.

“What are you doing? I can’t understand! Our people were gone too!” He Guang acted as if he was surprised.

His acting skills were not as good as Wei Changfeng’s and Qi Le’an’s, but his had practiced hard before this.

The weather was changing drastically. First it was the white mist, then it was the thundering.

There would be a rainstorm.

Qi Le’an sat in the car and said worriedly, “Wei Sama, will He Guang be alright?”

Before Wei Changfeng could say anything, the driver in the front said, “Don’t worry! He Guang is quite capable!”

Qi Le’an was still a little worried. Suddenly, a thunder came and the pouring rain fell. The raindrops were hitting the car like drumbeats and the windshield wipers were swaying all the time, but they could not clear the rain on the windshield completely.

The car was shaking left and right. On their left side was a sea on the right side was a mountain. Qi Le’an looked at the side of the sea and he saw huge waves.

“The speed is too fast!” Qi Le’an shouted to the driver, “Speed down!”

“We can’t slow down!” The driver shouted, “Everyone in the village knows the path! We can’t leave if they catch up with us!”

Wei Changfeng grabbed one of Qi Le’an’s hands and the driver’s phone rang wildly.

He picked up the phone, then he blurted out a “Sh*t!!!”

He pressed on the brakes hard, which made Qi Le’an feel like he was about to be thrown out.

“Tingting’s car has broken down! We have to go back and pick up the child!”

With such a heavy rain and such a narrow road, the car had to turn itself around.

Many years later, Qi Le’an still thought it was the most thrilling night in his life.

Tingting’s car was one kilometre behind them. The driver turned his head and said, “Don’t worry! I used to drive a tank! I will definitely send you back safely!”

Qi Le’an was a little speechless.

The driver shifted gears and turned the car around, and he drove in the rain with zero visibility. Three minutes later, they finally found Tingting.

There was only a driver and Tingting with Er Niu sitting in the car. The rain was so heavy that they couldn’t hear each other. All they could do was to call out. “Take the child and leave first!” Tingting shouted.

Er Niu’s cry was integrated with the sound of rain. The driver said, “Stop the car by the roadside! We all get on! No one should be left behind!”

The only working car could barely contain the three of them. They tried to comfort Er Niu.

Tingting shoved Er Niu into Qi Le’an’s embrace and said, “Don’t stay here! It’s too dangerous! Hurry up and leave!”

The visibility was so low. As long as a car drove at high speed towards them, all of them standing on the road would surely lose their lives.

Er Niu was struggling and screaming. Qi Le’an had never thought that an eight-year-old girl actually had so much strength. It was hard to imagine how Tingting had just kept Er Niu in control.

Qi Le’an could only hold the child tightly in his arms and get into the car.

There was no dry place all over his body. Wei Changfeng was still standing outside and said, “All of you! Get in the car!”

Then, he pressed Tingting into the car and pushed the broken car to the middle of the road with the driver to block the coming villagers.

In the rainstorm, Qi Le’an couldn’t even see Wei Changfeng’s shadow, but he could hear his heartbeat clearly, which was beating with his heart together.
