Chapter 44: Extra 1: The Wedding(i)

Qi Le’an and others went to a beach in bright sunshine where many beauties in bikinis were playing and swimming.

Wei Changfeng and Qi Le’an came out of the closet at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Regardless of the attitude of the authorities, the box office record for Abduction of Children had broken the record again.

What made people happier than the overnight success was probably to strike it rich.

Luckily, Wei Changfeng had rejected all the investors earlier and completed the production of Abduction of Children on his own. Although he had to share the profit with many partners, his remuneration was still unimaginable.

Qi Le’an lay on his beach chair, feeling that he probably wouldn’t have to lose weight anymore.

A beach volleyball came from afar and hit his forehead. Qi Le’an got up angrily and saw Chen Shan in the distance.

Chen Shan was wearing colorful boxer shorts revealing his six-pack stomach as he was playing with Xiao Li.

Qi Le’an picked up the volleyball and hit it at him. Chen Shan  stretched out his hand to catch it and smiled at him.

Wei Changfeng walked over and handed an iced coconut to Qi Le’an.

Qi Le’an sucked it through the straw and asked, “Where are babies?”

Wei Changfeng said, “The sunlight is too strong outside. Mom is playing with them in the pool.”

Qi Le’an nodded and smiled at Wei Changfeng.

A month after the award ceremony, Wei Mama’s condition was stable. Wei Changfeng fulfilled his promise and invited his friends to a small island in Maldives.

It was a private island where the sea water was pure, the beach was white, and many luxury family villas were distributed with excellent amenities. There were many entertainment projects at sea, and the staff including the housekeepers, lifeguards and coaches waited beside them and served them. They only greeted guests for less than five times a year.

They originally needed to rent the island, find a custom-made company, charter a plane, invite friends and do other things… But Wei Changfeng took all of them on himself and didn’t let Qi Le’an interfere at all.

According to what he said, Qi Le’an just needed to have fun.

“I’m a little nervous,” Qi Le’an suddenly said.

Wei Changfeng lay down on the chair beside him and smiled, “When you won the award, I didn’t see you were nervous.”

Qi Le’an rolled his eyes upwards, adjusted the angle of the sunshade, and said, “How can the award compare to the wedding?”

A shadow of a smile touched Wei Changfeng’s mouth.

There were less than twenty four hours left before the two of them were going to hold their wedding ceremony on the island, an otherworldly sort of place.

Something rumbled above his head. Qi Le’an looked up and saw that the helicopter was hovering above him. His nervousness turned into a wry face as he said, “They even have rented a helicopter…” It really cost the media an arm and a leg.

The two of them didn’t intend to hype their love. As for their wedding, they naturally declined to be interviewed. However, the people coming to the island were too influential. Leaving aside the domestic Award-winning actors, even the Oscar-winning actress Emma, the best director Damien and the famous person Amco were on the island. The interview with any of them would absolutely hit the headline!

The media were anxious and all of them tried their best to obtain the reporting right of the wedding. However, the Award-winning actors did not give the chance to them, then some paparazzi thought of an idea and rented a helicopter to hover above them.

“It’s not a big deal,” Wei Changfeng said, “I’ve booked all the nearby organizations that can lease helicopters. No one will disturb us tomorrow.”

Qi Le’an was startled. There was only one word in heart to describe it, nouveau-riche.

It was really good to be rich.

A cloud flew over and covered the sun. Qi Le’an got up from the reclining chair and asked, “Should we go to pick them up?”

Wei Changfeng nodded and said, “You just stay here. I’ll go to pick them up.”

Qi Le’an smiled, “Do you really treat me as a bride hiding in the boudoir?”

Wei Changfeng couldn’t help but smile, “Then are you a bride?”

Qi Le’an put his head against Wei Changfeng’s and whispered, “Well, I’ll only be your bride.”

Wei Changfeng couldn’t help but kiss Qi Le’an.

With the steady rhythm of waves lapping the shore, there was the gooey sound heard on the beach. The two of them was just kissing each other when a volleyball fell towards them from the sky again.

Qi Le’an was speechless.

He turned around to look at Chen Shan angrily. Chen Shan burst into laughter, gestured at Qi Le’an and left with Xiao Li.

Qi Le’an sighed and said worriedly, “What should Brother Chen do in the future? His mother still doesn’t know anything…”

Wei Changfeng threw the volleyball back to the court and said, “Leave him to worry about it by himself. Let’s go.”

Qi Le’an stood up and went back to the villa with Wei Changfeng for a shower, then they changed clothes to pick up the people at the airport on the island.

The guests arrived here one after another with their blessings. Emma even acted as if she was walking down the red carpet of the Oscar and her dress was gorgeous and stunning.

Qi Le’an smiled and said, “Luckily I’m not the bride. Otherwise, I would have been upstaged by you.”

Emma blinked and said with a smile, “Don’t you know that there is no bride at the wedding?”

Both of them laughed.

The last group of guests to the island were Professor John and Rev. Jack. The two of them had helped a lot when they got the marriage license. When Wei Changfeng held the wedding, he specially invited them to be witnesses at their wedding.

Professor John and his students hugged each other and he smiled, “Fynn, you just accidentally created a box office legend.”

The huge box-office success of Abduction of Children even amazed the entire European and American film circle.

Wei Changfeng said to his teacher, “It’s your teaching…”

Professor John laughed and asked, “Is that guy Spear here?”

“He has already arrived here.”

Wei Changfeng also left an invitation for Director Spear when he was sending out the invitations. He originally thought that the director was busy, but he didn’t expect Director Spear to call him immediately, saying that he would definitely come to their wedding.

After the last two guests got on the car, Wei Changfeng drove to the villa. There were many houses on the island. There were house villas and small cottages by the sea. Wei Changfeng arranged the accommodation according to the guests’ personal preferences, and he let the familiar people live together, so as not to make everyone feel awkward.

The light was beginning to fail and the housekeeper informed everyone to have dinner. The cafeteria on the island was huge enough for everyone to have the meal. Wei Changfeng invited a three-star Michelin cook to make the dishes palatable to westerners and easterners as much as possible.

Having too many friends was also a kind of annoyance. By the time Wei Changfeng and Qi Le’an returned to the room, it was already after 11 at night.

Wei Changfeng drank a little and his eyes were glistening. Qi Le’an collapsed on the bed while Wei Changfeng stared at him.

Qi Le’an had sensed something and asked, “Wei Sama?”

Wei Changfeng smiled.

“Wei Sama… are you drunk?” Qi Le’an ventured.

Unexpectedly, Wei Changfeng shook his head and said clearly, “No… I am just too happy.”

Qi Le’an couldn’t help but laugh, “I also…”

He didn’t expect that he would get married in his life, and he even didn’t expect to marry Wei Changfeng.

The two of them hugged each other.

The next day was the wedding. Chen Shan knocked on the door and awoke the two people who were still sleeping.

Chen Shan shouted outside, “Will you get up or not?! Are you still going to hold the wedding?!”

Qi Le’an opened his eyes and watched the clock, finding that it was already 8 a.m.

He originally planned to get up at 6 a.m.

This brought him out in a cold sweat, and Wei Changfeng beside him also woke up slowly. When he saw the time with his sleepy eyes, he suddenly sat up.

The two of them glanced at each other. Then they quickly leapt out of bed, washed up and put on their clothes.

Five minutes later, he opened the door for Chen Shan. Chen Shan was dressed in a groomsman suit and hummed at them, “Are you awake in the end?”

Qi Le’an was a little annoyed, “Brother Chen!”

Chen Shan hurriedly raised his hands and said, “I originally wanted to awake you at half past six! It was your mother who told me to let you sleep longer!”

Qi Le’an could not help but laugh.

Chen Shan pushed Qi Le’an and said, “Alright, alright. I’ve already arranged everything well for you. There won’t be any mistakes.”

He turned to Wei Changfeng and said, “I will lead him away. You can go to your place by yourself later.”

Wei Changfeng nodded while Qi Le’an was unable to tear his eyes away from his Wei Sama.

Chen Shan was speechless, “…You’re not parted forever, why do you have to be like this?”

Qi Le’an looked at Chen Shan angrily and said, “It’s me who gets married today!”

The effect might be the same as shouting “It’s my birthday today”. Chen Shan suddenly shut his mouth and took his stepbrother to the dressing-room for bridegroom.

There was no bride or bridesmaid, and Qi Le’an and Wei Changfeng only had groomsmen by their side. Qi Le’an invited Chen Shan while Wei Changfeng found Li Che.

There weren’t many groomsmen, but they were the best of friends.

Before the wedding, Qi Le’an asked Wei Changfeng if he wanted to find two more people, but Wei Changfeng shook his head and smiled at him, “There is a position left… for Qin Xing.”

Qi Le’an knew that he was the best friend in his Wei Sama’s life.

Chen Shan looked unreliable, but his arrangements were appropriate. Besides, there were parents of both families at the wedding, so even if they got up two hours late, they didn’t delay anything.

Director Chen’s daughter, Tong, held up the camera and recorded the two of them for fun. A professional team from Hollywood on the side were also recording the wedding.

Qi Le’an couldn’t help laughing when he saw Tong, “I didn’t have time to say that yesterday… Haven’t you gone too grown?”

Tong looked sad and said, “My idol, you have changed! You have a sharp tongue now!”

Qi Le’an said innocently, “I’m just telling the truth.”

Tong sighed and said, “This is the imprint of Africa!”

A few years ago, she called out to help Africans and be a borderless volunteer. Who would have thought that one day, she would really go there and bring everyone a lot of shocking photography work.

Qi Le’an was quite impressed by women like Tong.

“I really didn’t expect it,” Tong smiled with her camera in hand, “One day you will marry Wei Sama. I was stunned when Papa told it to me.”

Qi Le’an thought about the script for Better Days that Tong gave to him at a bookstore many years ago and sighed, “Who would have expected it?”

Tong smiled and said, “No matter what, I wish you live happily!”

When they were chatting, Qi Le’an had already made himself up and stood up to hug Tong. Tong looked intoxicated and sighed that this was her idol’s last hug before he was single.

The wedding ceremony was held at 12 o’clock. Everything was almost ready at about 11. Even the children also put on the clothes for ring bearers and flower girls.

There were only three children at home and they just lacked a little boy. In the end, Director Spear brought his grandson here to act as a ring bearer. The five-year-old boy with blond hair and light blue eyes endeared himself to Little Orange and Chen Shan’s sister as long as he joined the children’s group.

Chen Shan’s sister learned a lot of English in kindergarten and kept talking with the little boy. Little Orange couldn’t understand their talk very well so she just smiled beside them.

When Qi Le’an went out, he happened to see the four children. Little Orange also saw Qi Le’an at a glance and stumbled over, pulling Qi Le’an’s pants and calling him ‘papa’.

Qi Le’an squatted down and kissed her face. He said in a low voice, “You’re so pretty today!”

Chen Shan’s sister rolled her eyes, ran over too and cried, “Ann! Where is Fynn?”

Qi Le’an smiled and said, “You only look for Fynn and ignore me, right?”

Chen Shan’s sister shook her head in a hurry and said seriously, “No! I want to tell Fynn to have a good wedding with you! And I will marry Bob in the future!”

Bob was just Director Spear’s grandson, a cute boy.

Qi Le’an didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, but Chen Shan’s sister suddenly ran away in her small leather shoes, shouting, “Fynn!”

Qi Le’an raised his head and saw Wei Changfeng in a white suit came towards them like a prince.
