I had gone home that night happier than I had been in a while. My mother seemed to notice as I walked to my room- well skipped really. She stood in my doorway and knocked on the frame. I turned my head and smiled at her. "Yes, mama?" I asked with a smile. She took this as an invitation to come in, she walked over and sat on one of my chairs.
"What's got you in such a good mood?" she puzzled. I smiled and looked down at the ground. I peeked back up before answering.
"Jacob asked me to be his girlfriend," soulmate actually but I wasn't gonna tell her that, "and I said yes!"
She gasped in delight. "I always knew you two were right for eachother. And he's such a gentleman. Not to mention what a handsome young man he is! I'm so happy for you, Y/N," she rambled before pulling me into a hug. I hugged her back. "Well, I gotta go get started on dinner," she pulled away, "we're having chicken and mashed potatoes." I nodded and plopped backwards onto my bed. I sigh, realizing I have math homework to do.
I got up and trudged over to my desk and opened my textbook. I hated the subject, but it was easy to get through. About halfway through my work, the landline on the desk rang. I sighed and picked it up, half expecting it to be a telemarketer. "Hello." I answer bluntly. "Hey beautiful," a smooth voice spoke over the phone.
"Jacob!" I smiled, "why are you calling- I just saw you an hour ago?"
"Well, I had something I wanted to ask you," he mused.
"And what would that be?"
"Do you want to meet the pack?" he asked hesitantly.
At this question, a huge smile grew on my face. The pack was like his family, and since I already know Billy, this is Jacob asking me to meet his family.
"Are you serious?" I questioned.
"If you think it's too soon I understand, you're just really important to me and-"
"Jacob, stop," I interrupted, "of course I want to meet the pack. I'd love to, actually."
On the other side I could hear him breathe a sigh of relief. "Great. How would you feel about tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow sounds great. Noon?" I confirmed
"Sounds great. Well, I better go. Sweet dreams, N/N."
"Sweet dreams, Jake," I replied before begrudgingly ending the phone call.
The rest of the night I could barely focus on my schoolwork. I eventually got it done just in time for dinner. At dinner I asked my mom if I could go hang out with Jake tomorrow and she said yes. I'd be home alone anyways. She's been gone a lot lately after taking on a second job to help pay the bills. I offered to get a job and help but she refused.
I crawled into bed and snuggled up in the blankets. I fell asleep dreaming of Jacob.
The Next Day
I must have changed my outfit four times now. God, I was so nervous. I had on a band tee, a flannel, jeans, and vans when Jacob pulled into my driveway. I looked into my mirror and sighed. This will have to do. I jogged out of the house to see Jacob walking up to the door. As soon as he saw me a cheesy grin sprung onto his face. I blushed and smiled, slowing to a walk.
"Hey, handsome," I greeted before stopping toe to toe with him, looking up at him.
"Hello, gorgeous," he replied.
I giggled before giving him a quick peck and trying to escape into the truck. Trying being the key word. Failing is what actually happened. He grabbed my arm and pulled me back, my face beet red. We were now chest to chest. He was gazing down into my eyes, his eyes darting to my lips before going back to my eyes. I fluttered my eyes closed, giving him permission.
I felt his lips softly meet mine. I trailed my hands up his chest before wrapping them around his neck. I could feel him wrap his arms around my waist as the kiss became more passionate. I didn't want to, but I pulled away to take a breath before looking up at Jacob. I opened my eyes to see him looking at me like I was the most important thing in the world.
I smiled before pulling away completely. Jacob then opened the truck door for me and shut it once I was inside. I buckled up and turned to him as he climbed in. "You ready?" he asked. I nodded and grabbed his hand, intertwining our fingers. He looked down at the action and smiled before starting the truck. I took a deep breath.
I hope they like me.
