Chapter 2: Plans

Not Alone [Jacob Black x Reader]Words: 7629

The next day

I pulled up to school and saw a couple familiar faces in the parking lot. Bella and Edward were standing in front of the school while Bella was talking to a boy with long hair. God he's gorgeous. And muscular. I got out just as the boy handed Bella a dream catcher. I decided to walk over to them.

"Hey, Bella! How are you?" I asked as I walked over. They all turned and looked at me, Bella and the boy smiled.

"Good. How are you settling in?" She asked

"I'm settling in all right, just have to decorate now," I shrugged, "Who's this?" I nodded towards the boy she was just talking to.

"This is my friend Jacob. Jacob, this is Y/N." She introduced us.

"Hey, nice to meet you, Y/N." He said, holding out his hand. I shook it, but not as harshly as I shook Mike's the day before.

"Nice to meet you too. I should head inside." I said but before I could walk away, Bella stopped me.

"I already took a picture of everyone else, but I didn't get you. Could I get a picture of you and Jacob now? I didn't get one of him either." she asked, kind of jumbling her words. "Sure!" I responded, looking over at Jacob, who nodded.

I stood next to him and he put his arm around me. Oh my god, he just put his arm around me. Calm down, Y/N, you just met him. Bella took the picture and you could see Edward behind her hiding a smile. You mentally questioned this but quickly shooed the thought away.

"Alright, well now I should head inside, it was nice meeting you Jacob, see you later Bella!" I laughed as I walked away.

The rest of the day went uneventful. My mom came home about an hour after me, bringing some food from the diner with her. "Hey, Y/N, we have some plans this weekend." she told me when she set the food down at the table.

"Oh really?" I asked, "What are we doing?"

"Well, we're going over to my friend's house on Sunday to watch the football game, his name is Billy Black." She answered.

"Alright, sounds fun!" I responded.

Sunday

Sunday came around, I wore an oversized black sweatshirt, skinny jeans, and my black vans. My mom and I rode in her sedan to her friend's house. We pulled up to a small house on the native reservation near town. As we got out, a man with long black hair in a wheelchair rolled out of the house.

"Lynn! Thank you for coming!" he said to my mom, "This must be Y/N! Nice to meet you dear, I'm Billy."

"Nice to meet you Billy!" I beamed.

"Jacob! Come meet our guests!" Billy yelled into the house.

Jacob? It's probably not the same person, Jacob is a common name.

"Coming!" I heard a familiar voice yell as they ran out. Lo and behold, it was the same person.

"Jacob, this is Lynn," Billy introduced, "and this is.."

"Y/N! Nice to see you again." Jacob nodded.

"You two met?" Billy asked.

"Yeah, Bella introduced us." Jacob explained.

"Nice to see you too, Jacob," I smiled.

"Well, let's get inside before the game starts!" Billy exclaimed before going inside. The rest of us followed.

My mom and Billy were in the living room while Jacob and I sat in the dining room.

"Hey, do you know why Bella wasn't at school on Friday?" I asked Jacob, trying to start a conversation.

"You don't know?" Jacob asked, shocked.

"No, we're not really close." I replied

"Edward left her. Him and his family moved away," he said in a low tone, "She was crushed."

"Wow. What a dick." I grumbled. Bella seemed like a nice girl, I don't know why he'd want to leave her.

"Tell me about it," Jacob laughed. He had a cute laugh. Dammit, Y/N stop. "Anyways, what brought you to Forks?"

"Well, my parents got divorced, so my mom decided to move us close to my grandparents." I answered

"Oh, I'm sorry," Jacob said regretfully, putting a hand on my shoulder for a second before pulling it away. I smiled at him.

"Don't be, my mom is better without him. He was a cheating bastard anyways." I laughed before wiping a small tear away from my eye. Sure, my dad was a dick, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

Jacob seemed to notice this and decided to distract me, "Well, how is life in Forks treating you?"

"It's been alright, the people are... interesting," I responded with a laugh.

"Interesting meaning..." Jacob questioned

"Flirty... forward I guess," I laughed, remembering my first day and Mike's advances towards me.

"Oooo, get it Y/N," he joked, wiggling his eyebrows. I laughed along with him.

"No way, the guy flirting with me? Not my type,"

"Well, you better hope he gets the hint otherwise he'll keep bothering you." Jacob said with a small smile and raised eyebrows. I giggled.

"I'm sure he'll realize sooner rather than later."

Him and I kept joking for the rest of the night. I didn't realize how late it had gotten until my mom had gotten me to go home.

"I'll see you later, Jake. We should hang out sometime." I called while walking out.

"Of course, see ya, Y/N!" he responded.

I was still smiling when I got out, earning a comment from my mom. "Ooooo, does my little Y/N/N have a crusshhhh??" she teased as we drove home. I laughed.

"Noooo, just a new friend." I responded. I was kinda lying. I didn't have a crush, I was developing one.

I went to bed that night smiling, and actually felt happy for the first time in a while.

A couple months later

Jacob and I have been hanging out a lot in these past months. I've hung out at his house, he's hung out at mine. It was safe to say that I now had a crush on him. But, how could I not? He was caring, funny, smart, and not to mention hot. But, all of his thoughts were on Bella, it was obvious he had a crush on her. He was concerned for her, and to be honest, so was I.

Bella had been sitting alone at the table where her boyfriend's family used to sit for months now. I was really scared for her. She seemed empty. But things must have gotten better for her because she called and asked if I wanted to go to the movies with her and Jessica.

Bella, Jessica, and I were walking out of the movie theater after watching a zombie movie. Jessica was complaining about not watching a romance movie while I rolled my eyes. At least Bella was getting out of the house instead of staying home all day. "I actually liked it." I interrupted. She was more talking to herself than anyone else so she continued.

"I was surprised you even called at all, Bella. You know, like your depression thing." She explained.

"Jessica!" I yelled at her.

"What?? I'm not wrong," she defended.

"Let her heal the way she wants to, she doesn't need judgement right now."

Bella didn't seem to care about what either of us said after she noticed a group of guys catcalling us. "I think I know those guys," she mumbled. I looked at the guys then back at her, shocked, they were like twice our age.

"Well, they seem great, can we go?" Jessica asked

"Agreed. I don't think talking to them is a great idea." I urged.

"I just gotta see something." Bella muttered

Before we could protest she walked toward the men and got onto one of their bikes and rode down the street with him. I turned to Jessica, "What the hell is she doing?!"

"I have no idea!" she returned.

Before we knew it she was back on the corner where the group of men were. Jessica and I ran down to her. "Hey, um, what the hell is wrong with you?" I asked as Bella started walking away with us.

"I thought that I saw something," Bella responded.

"You're insane actually, or suicidal." Jessica countered, with that last comment I lightly slapped her arm.  She shrugged as if to say 'I'm not wrong'. "That homeboy could have been a psycho." she continued.

I ended up tuning them out. How could she do that? She has family and friends that care about her.

By the time I got home I decided it was best to just go to bed.
