The Empath And The Narcissist | JJKWords: 9954

___

After somehow getting home and seeing your father still asleep on the white leather couch, you rush into the bathroom. Taking off your clothes, you stand in front of the mirror. You pull your overcoat off you and stare at the fabric of your top totally covered in blood from the side of your torso. You had lost a lot of blood. No wonder why you struggled with excessive weakness while coming back home.

A whimper leaves your mouth as you take off the wet and stuck cloth of yours from over the wound. You were trying hard to not let out a loud wince as Yeonhan was right outside, sleeping. Your eyes start pooling up with tears trying to endure the extremely burning pain.

"Oh God" you mutter trying to catch a breath and hold the sink counter tightly, pressing your lips sealed gulping the strong sensation of pain.

You then get hold of the safety kit from the shelves there. Looking at the wound you seem confused as to whether or not you needed stitches. There is no way you can go to the hospital and get a bullet wound treated without getting police involved. Involving the police means your family will come to know about the incident. Right now you weren't in the sane state of mind to think of doing the right thing.

Not sure of how to treat a bullet wound, you still go ahead and however help yourself. Wetting a clean towel into the running water, you clean the area around the large cut. Fortunately the bullet just brushed and passed through your skin and did not actually end up in your body. Otherwise it would have been a chaos for you. After doing that, you gather up guts to clean the actual wound while holding a piece of cotton, sprayed with antiseptic liquid.

"It's ok, Y/N. It's going to burn like hell but you have to do it. You cannot go to the hospital" you cheer yourself up, still hesitating to perform the act knowing it was going to intensify the pain in multiples of thousands.

Fuck it. It could have been worse. You are at least alive.

Just do it.

Ordering that to yourself, you slowly slide the cotton through your open gash. The second you do that, you almost collapse on the ground feeling the sudden rush of killing sting through your body. This experience really showed what real physical pain is. Yet, it could have been worse. Thinking of that, you manage to stabilize your trembling jaw, hands and legs. Getting back on your feet properly, you finally dive into the wound, this time the pain minimizing not more than the size of a sand particle.

After a few minutes of cleaning the wound and dressing it very delicately yet securely, you get changed into other clothes after having a painkiller. With your unstable steps, you head towards your bed. As soon as you lay down on it, you feel like you went to sleep literally after fighting a war for years.

Just when you hit the bed, you immediately slip into sleep because of all the weakness and physical trauma you went through.

You wake up with a loud gasp and sit up. Staring at the wall in front of you for a few seconds you remember the events of last night. You almost ended up thinking it was a dream until the side of your torso started to sting because of moving suddenly so fast, rashly. Your hand immediately goes to your injury and senses something wet.

The blood leaked through the bandages and your clothing.

You panic realizing the bleeding didn't stop. Hurrying to check the gash, you stumble quickly to the bathroom. Waking up from severe fatigue and hiking fever followed by immediate striking burns should have been enough for you to give up but you held onto yourself.

After redressing the injury, you decide to take a sponge bath for the day, not letting the wound soak in water. It would be extremely painful and dangerous.

After putting on a fresh pair of outfit with your energyless hands and body, you step in your kitchen. The house was empty. It was a Tuesday morning. Yeonhan had gone to school and your parents had gone to work. Knowing you won't be able to work in this condition, you take a leave for a few days from your work telling them that you've fallen sick badly. Resting the job case, you knew you couldn't be absent for your classes with the exams coming up.

Luckily you had only one class today at the university in the afternoon. The usual one before you head onto your way to the store for your first part time job of the day.

Promising yourself to be stronger from now on, you prepare a healthy breakfast for yourself and sit on the dining table. You felt nauseous after you woke up but now you feel fine, therefore, you need to grab the chance to provide nutrition to your healing body.

While you had your meal accompanied by the silence, you were forced to recall last night's incident. A person died in front of you. A life was taken right before you. That guy? The guy's face who shot the man dead and tried to kill you flashes before your eyes. That pair of dark eyes. Now that the face is plastered in your mind, you out of nowhere realize those eyes are familiar. When you pressurize yourself to remember from where do you recall those dark brown eyes from, you fail miserably.

"You?"

He knows you and you find his eyes familiar which means last night wasn't the first time you both saw each other or even met each other. The only thing that's troubling is that he remembers it but you don't. While you think upon it, something else that you heard last night comes back to you.

"Jungkook" "Where are you?"

"Jungkook" you mumble his name, stirring the meal in the bowl subconsciously, staring at it.

His name is Jungkook?

***

Two days had passed since the incident and you were firm on your decision of not going to the police nor to the hospital and involving yourself in a murder case. You felt guilty towards the dead man but you needed to take care of the alive now. You. To make yourself feel less guilty and keep yourself just one step away from reporting what you saw to the police, you assume the man was a bad person too. Before he died, he was apologizing for betraying the guy which might mean that was involved with him.

You do not even want to think about the guy being totally innocent. You wouldn't be able to survive that thought.

It was Friday evening and you were going back home after attending an extra class of the day.

About the wound, he hadn't gotten any better since that day. Instead, it started bruising around the injured area and some swelling could be seen too. You were doing your best to clean and treat it but it just was getting worse. At least the bleeding had lessened. You did not know how long you were going to survive like this.

With your headphones on your ear, you walk slowly through the lonely lane, towards your house. Lost in your thoughts, you do not realize someone's presence around you until their shadow falls besides you, making it visible to you.

As soon as you notice the shadow, you abruptly freeze in your tracks and your stomach falls down in your ankles because the moment you stop, the person behind you stops too and that confirms you are being followed. Realizing that, your skin starts to turn cold making the hair on your skin stand, sending chills down your spine. While your heart starts pounding against your chest, your eyes widen at the shadow and you dare to start turning behind keeping an eye on the shadow.

The second you turn around with your heart in your hands, your eyes match with a man a bit older and huge than you. He was wearing a hoodie and a cap beneath it to hide his identity but you were sure he wasn't the one you encountered last night.

Noticing that you are aware of his presence, the guy loses his guard and begins taking slow steps toward you. As soon as he gets on his way again, you immediately turn around and start walking faster than before. Your palms start breaking into cold sweats and because of the fast movements, the skin on your torso starts to get disturbed causing sharp pain around the area. Pressing your eyes close for a second you gulp down the pain and the fear which is climbing onto you hastily.

The single shadow soon turns into a double one. Comprehending that not one but two people are following you now, your heartbeats accelerate even more. The pit in your stomach enlarges making you sweat even more out of dread and horror of tonight being the last night one of your night.

But just when you notice the presence of two people, a black van screeches and stops at the end of the street before you. That makes your heart jump out of your chest and your skin goes pale. With the rising pain of your wound and the loudness of your heartbeat in your ear pushed you on the verge of passing out.

You had stopped on your feet but the two men behind you hadn't. A second later, the door of the van slides open inviting your occupancy. You instantly turn around at the men who have fastened their pace now. Watching them come at you, you unknowingly start walking backwards towards the van.

"Taehyung, go get her"

One of the men following orders the other one. The other one immediately nods at the command and comes faster at you, taking his hands out of his hoodie pockets, preparing to grab you.

"No!" You scream, turn around and start running towards the van not knowing where to go as you were blocked by the gang but the feeling of delaying you getting in their hands made you run away from them.

Just a few steps before you could reach the end of the street, an arm appears from the adjacent dark and narrow alley to the street you were trying to escape from. The person grabs your arm hurriedly and harshly before pulling you in the alley to him.

That action of the man snatched the last bit of strength of fighting you had in you. The moment the man takes you into his arrest, you feel extremely lightheaded and soon black out in his custody.

Was he with those guys who were following you or was he your savior?
