Chapter 8: Chapter 8

The weight of loveWords: 3648

It had been 2 days now that Enoch had locked himself in that room. And at this point Jayden was pissed. His boyfriend had been in there doing nothing for 2 days. And while yes Jayden screwed up and he'll never talk to his parents again you have to move on. "It isn't my fault they're homophobic bitches" Jayden said to himself. He got some breakfast for Enoch and knocked on the door. He heard the door unlock so he came in and put the bowl of cereal down on the bedside table. But Jayden sat down next to his boyfriend who was curled up in a ball. "I'm sorry about the wedding" Jayden said. His boyfriend sat up. Jayden saw tear streaks all over his cheeks and he had red puffy eyes. "What have I done?" Enoch said looking at his hands. "I just lost my parents and maybe my whole family, probably my job because my parents own my company and soon my boyfriend because I can't do anything right. Just leave already because I'm worthless and I'll drag you down with me" Enoch said crying. "Don't say that" Jayden said. "It's true! You know it but you won't accept it" Enoch cried. "I'm never going to give up on you. You can't make me" Jayden said. "Do me a favour and save yourself" Enoch said before curling up into a ball. He was fully convinced he wasn't worth love. It really shocked Jayden how much a tiny bit of critiscim changed his entire personality. Jayden left the room and heard the door lock behind him. He was going to make Enoch's parents pay. They were terrible parents. He opened up his phone and went to all social media he had and posted a few pictures of the wedding captioned: HOMOPHOBIC PARENTS EXPOSED!!! He then realised that Tom and Alyce were both following him. He looked through the comments and saw things like: Wait those are the CEOs of O'Connor books! Never buying again! Or They litterally ruined a wedding because they're so homophobic! This single comment made Jayden think. Why was he blaming himself when it wasn't his fault. He felt better but was still worried about enoch.

A FEW HOURS LATER:

Jayden heard a knock on the door and opened the door to see Alyce and Tom. "Hey?" Jayden said. "Oh my god it's so nice to meet you properly. I'm sorry about my parents at the wedding. Tom told me about Enoch and I had to come immediately" Alyce said. Jayden welcomed them in. "So brief us on the situation" Alyce said. "Well Enoch has been stuck in the guest bedroom for 2 days now. He's completely convinced he isn't 'good enough' and I should 'leave him behind'. Total bullshit" Jayden said. "Hmmmm ok how long have you 2 been together?" Alyce asked. "Since middle school all though we technically only tied the knot in late high school" Jayden replied. "Interesting. I don't know what to do" Alyce said. "Maybe he just needs a slap in the face. You know like a wake up call 'stop this bullshit right now! I'm not leaving you behind!'" Tom suggested. "It could work but it's sounds too much like mum and dad which we definitely don't want." Alyce said. "Fuck it I'm just going in. Alone" Jayden said walking towards the door, knocking and waiting. He waited for a few minutes but it didn't unlock so he got the skeleton key and opened it. He went in and sat down. "Nox, look you will always be good enough no matter what. Everyone is deserving of love including you. Now if you really cared about me instead of moping and telling me to leave you, you would stop making me worry about you because, I love you okay and nothing will ever change that." Jayden said crying at the end and hugging Enoch. Enoch sat up. "Look I'm so-" Enoch said before getting cut off by Jayden. "You don't have to be sorry for anything"
