Uhmmmm excuse me??? Tell me why I'm #11 in Solby?? Thank you! I really don't know that to say. I was just going to write I didn't expect this.
Also I got a comment about Colby's girlfriend (like in real life) being controlling and a gold digger, which idk much abt so idk. She won't be crazy great in the book though. But I just wanted to preface, that we can't decide who he likes or is in a relationship with. We can only hope that he's happy (pretty sure he's in a very good relationship) <3
Anyways yeah <:

"Colby?" A muffled voice echoed in the back of Colby's mind. "Colbs, you idiot, why are you here?"
Colby fluttered his eyes, opening them lightly. There was Sam, looking concerned and worried, staring down at his best friend. Colby rubbed his eyes, adjusting to the sun's rays. He remembered his dream, flinching away from Sam's touch. That just made Sam more concerned.
"Cole, you are really worrying me." Colby couldn't tell if it was his brain messing with him, but Sam's Cole attacked a part of his heart, he didn't know it could. He was still disheveled and disoriented, blinking to regain his eyesight.
Sam reached out for his hand, looking at his eyes carefully, Colby nodded his head slightly, letting Sam touch his hand. (Consent.) Sam traced his hand up Colby's arm and down his back, rubbing slight circles underneath his shoulder blades.
"I'm sorry," Colby muttered, trying to get the words, caught in his throat, out. "Bad dream again last night... not ready t' talk about it." Sam looked at Colby softly, pitying him a bit, still rubbing his back.
"I get it, I'm here if you want to talk about it later. Okay dude?" Colby nodded, "You just really worried me, brother." Sam looked still slightly concerned, but he let it go. He reached his hands out, looking at Colby. Colby grabbed the others hands, pulling himself off of the ground. He leaned slightly against the wall, stretching his arms above his head.
(I wrote all of the above with my Spanish keyboard, and was so confused when it had accents and was underlining most of the English words. I'm too tired for this.)
"Hey, piece a' crap, we doing a video today? For the react channel?" Sam asked, wrapping his arm around Colby, resuming their normal playful banter.
"Yeah, the Dybbuk Box thing we talked about little while ago?" Colby smiled, walking down the stairs, Sam by his side.
"Mhm! I have everything in the office." Sam said, trailing behind Colby slightly. His hand brushing against Colby's stiffer hands. This caused Sam to flinch his hand away, blushing slightly. But Colby didn't seem to notice anything at all. As soon as they reached the living room Colby collapsed onto the couch.
Sam asked, clearing his throat, "Is Gabi coming over today?" Colby shook his head opening his phone nonchalantly.
"She said s'thing about going to visit family, I'm not really sure, she didn't really say much." Colby said, "I think she's at the airport or something, cause it still says for her location that she's in LA." He sighed closing out of her location. Shaking his head.
Sam just nodded, "I'm probably going to go shower 'n change in like five. Do you need anything?" Colby shook his head, smiling slightly at Sam.
Sam nodded back to him, walking into the kitchen to find something to eat. He saw some leftover chorreadas, trying to remember their pronunciation in his head. He grabbed one from the container and took a bite, heading back towards the stairs
He took one more look at the sleep deprived boy, laying on the couch, before he smiled and walked up the stairs.
He reached his room, opening the door and looking at Colby's makeshift bed, he made his way around the disheveled blankets and walked towards his closet. (He can't escape from the closet yet smh) He took another bite of the pancake in his hand, shuffling through his random clothes. Sam grabbed a random hoodie, and skinny jeans.
He slipped off his boxers and oversized t-shirt, grabbing the clothes and entering his bathroom. He finished off the chorreada, placing the clothes on his counter. He looked at his body. Looking at his slightly hairy chest. Admiring his collar bones, and his toned waist. Sam still felt slightly ugly and uncomfortable, but he was feeling more and more comfortable in his own body.
He walked over to the shower, opened the shower door, and slipped into the hot water. Letting it flush his worries away. He felt warm and relaxed. He felt like he was back, months ago snuggling with Colby in his bed. He felt safe.
When he realized his thoughts he flushed. He had been noticing how much Colby meant to him recently, how he would drop everything to take care of him. How he helped him through cancer, and how he would always stand by his side, no matter what. He loved Colby, more than he was willing to comprehend, he just knew he would sacrifice the world for his world.
He had noticed it more, when looking at him and Gabi together, and how they were so close. How he felt he was losing his best friend, his light. The person who would hold him when he needed it, and put him first in every situation. The person he loved. More than he was willing to admit.
More than he had loved Kat.
This shocked him out of his thoughts, the water had gone cold, he quickly finished up washing his hair and body. He turned off the shower, and reached for a towel, pulling himself out of the warmth. He covered his shivering body with the towel, drying himself off. He grabbed the boxers he had left on the counter and put them on, as well as his socks.
He struggled to pull on his skinny jeans, his legs still damp. He shoved on a random shirt and grabbed the hoddie before messing with his hair and walking out of the bathroom.
He walked into his room, doing a double take at his bed. Where Colby lay. His eyes flickering to the door, worried.
"Hey! Dude, you were in the shower for like an hour, I called your name and everything. I even knocked on the door. It was locked so I was contemplating busting it down, I didn't realize the shower ended. Sorry I was just getting worried-" Colby rambled on, rushing to Sam.
Sam just looked at him and smiled, his heart beating quickly, face turning red at Colby's worry for him.
"You good, your really red?"
"Uh-m yes, sorry I was lost in thought in the shower, I'm fine." Sam said trying to cover his face.
"Were you blushhhing?!" Colby sneered, giggling at his embarrassed friend. Sam just shook his head, and looked at Colby softly.
He realized Colby had changed into sweats and what looked like one of Sam's shirts. He ignored the others bothering comments, following him down the stairs. When they finally reached the bottom of the stairs, they decided to finally film the video.
Pretending like the past 30 minutes hadn't happen, Sam set up the items for the video, and started the camera. They pulled on their reacts sweatshirts, that sat on a chair by the desk. Then they talked a bit about th evidence before it started.
"What's up guys! It's Sam and Colby!" Colby said his iconic line.
The video was fine, mostly filled with a bunch of "fuck you"'s (they just kept on yelling at the dolls TT it was hilarious) It wasn't crazy exciting or anything. Sam did feel more comfortable now that they were cleansed. He was still caught up in the thoughts from before. But he tried to push them away.
Once they finished the video, they turned everything off and cleaned up there mess. Sam took out the memory card from the camera, tossing it to Colby. Colby nodded, pulling off his hoodie. Slightly lifting up his sweatshirt.
Don't look down Sam.
He rubbed his eyes and turned off the lights of their office, before rolling Colby up the stairs into his room to edit.
Normally they'd go their separate ways, but sometimes Sam would lay on Colby's bed while he edited, before taking over the rest of the editing. Getting help from a professional from time to time. This time Sam sprawled out on Colby's bed, turning to look at Colby, who just giggled at Sam's stupidity.
He sat at his desk and uploaded the video to start cutting it up. He opened the editing software, sighing lightly. He still felt overwhelmed from his dream earlier. He felt as though confiding gin Sam would help. So he did.
He was still editing but he started to speak. "Hey Sam, can I talk to you about my dream?" He looked back to Sam who nodded looking into Colby's blue eyes.
"I keep on having this recurring dream, where someone, something, it attacks me. Well, in this case it was more like... it was more like touch me. I don't know. It kissed me. Okay. Let me start from the beginning." Colby sighed. "It's like this shadowy voice, It's some sort of person-thing. It had arms and legs, and a mouth. But no discernible features."
Colby took another breath, "It tried to kiss me in the first dream, before it could really happen I was back... I woke up." Trying not to make it weird with the, 'I had just gotten kissed, then you showed up and it made me feel happy.' "But this one, it was different."
Sam nodded, focusing at every detail on his friend's face, trying to find some sort of answer. Colby turned away, focusing more on his computer for this part.
"This time the voice, it trapped me, it called me Cole. You are like the only one who does that. It scared me. Then it started to... touch me. Gripping me, keeping me from moving. It forced itself on me. I couldn't move, or scream or anything. I was just so scared." At this point Colby had started slightly sobbing.
He felt arms wrap around him. They coiled around his shoulders, pulling him into a hug.
"It's okay hun, I'm right here." Sam cooed into Colby's ear, holding him tightly.
Colby froze, that's what Sam had said in his dream. Those exact words. As not to worry Sam, he hugged him back.
"Thank you for comforting me, you are a wonderful person, sorry I ranted. It's probably really weird."
"No trust me it's not, thank you for feeling comfortable confiding in me, I really love you."
Sam said this, and for once in his life, he meant it the most. He genuinely believed in love. And his love for Colby.
They continued to hang in Colby's room till he was mostly done editing. They watched some videos, talked to Jake over call. Then they got takeaway pizza. Enjoying each other's presence. Just spending time like they did back in high school. Laughing, joking, flirting, pretending the world didn't matter. Pretending they were the only people alive, that all that mattered was each other.
That's was the night Sam genuinely fell in love with Colby, or at least realized how much Colby meant to him. How much he valued Colby. He genuinely loved his best friend. He just didn't know what his love meant.
It was just platonic. Right? (No you fucking idiot, once again HAVE YOU READ THE TITLE???) Sam thought that, but tried to ignore it. Knowing if he thought too much on it, that it would show him the truth.
But that night as he lay in bed, he decided to finally text Katrina, after two months of not contacting her much, he decided to say something.
Message to Kat ð "I think I love Colby. Like more than I realized, I don't' know. Just text me when you get this. Missing you Kat."
Them, he sent it.

(2000 words - exactly!)
That's was fun! I liked writing that, also no, Sam doesn't realized that he's in love with Colby, just that he really genuinely cares about him, sorry if that was confusing. I'll make sure it is more clear in the next chapter about his feelings. Hope you enjoyed this!
