Chapter 28: CHAPTER TWENTY-SEVEN

A Kiss is still a KissWords: 13737

New groaned and reached for his phone that had been ringing non stop. He massaged his head and sniffed as he extended his arm to grab it from the bedside table.

He didn't wanna get up. After their confrontation last night, it seemed like he lost all his energy that he could barely move. His head was aching too after all the crying he did.

He looked at the screen and saw Pluem's name.

"Hello?" he said in a hoarse voice.

New?? Where are you?? I've been calling you last night but you weren't answering. Mr Tay's been rushed to the hospital.

He immediately sat up and clutched his phone tighter, his heart pounding and his hands shaking.

"Wh-what happened to him?" his lips were quivering as he held his breath.

He got into a car crash. We're here at the hosp—

He didn't even let Pluem finish his words. He ended the call and grabbed his car keys. Pluem didn't even have to tell him which hospital they were at because he already knew where to find Tay.

_____

New breathed heavily as he asked the nurse about Tay's room number. He immediately rushed to the VIP floor where he was directed and saw Tay's parents talking in the hallway.

"Oh my goodness! Thank God you're here, Son!" Tay's mother exclaimed and hugged him.

"But are you okay? You look...messy," she fixed his hair and straightened his shirt.

That was when he realized that he wasn't even able to change as he rushed outside his unit as soon as he heard the news.

He looked down at his feet and saw that he was wearing his bedroom slippers instead of shoes.

He muttered a silent prayer of thanks when he saw that he was wearing shorts and not boxers or he would have died on the spot out of humiliation.

"I'm so glad you're here. That idiot's not eating unless he sees you," she cupped his face.

"Wh-what happened to him?"

"He was almost hit by a truck last night. Luckily he was able to avoid it and hit the lamppost instead."

"How is he?"

"He has some scratches and a broken wrist but other than that he's fine. The doctors already ran the needed tests and found no other problems."

He heaved a sigh of relief after hearing the news. He felt somewhat guilty. If they had only talked about their problem last night, Tay wouldn't have gotten into an accident.

"But the moron's not eating. He said he wouldn't eat a single grain unless he sees you. That guy's smitten by you. What did you ever do to him?"

He chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Uhh, can I go in to see him?"

"Of course dear. And please make him eat. He hasn't eaten anything since last night. We have a meeting to attend so we're leaving him in your care, okay?"

He nodded and smiled at her.

"We're leaving, son," Tay's father tapped his shoulder.

"Don't worry, I'll take care of him," he smiled at them and waved them goodbye.

He grasped the doorknob tightly and took a deep breath before turning it.

"Sir, you can't take your medicine if you don't eat," the nurse attending to Tay complained.

"Just let him starve to death," P'Muk who was sitting on the couch scoffed.

He cleared his throat to get his attention.

"Oh my! I'm glad you're here, New!" P'Muk approached and hugged him.

"It's good that you're here. I've got to go. I still have some errands to attend to. Please keep an eye on him."

She then strutted outside of the room, her heels clicking on the floor.

Tay signalled the nurse to go out. He bit his lips as he approached his bed. He felt his chest tighten as he looked at Tay. His left wrist was in a cast while there was bandage on his head. His face was also filled with some scratches and his lips were somewhat pale.

"Uhmmm. H-how are you?" he asked while avoiding Tay's gaze.

"Are you still mad at me?" Tay asked while fidgeting his fingers.

He remained silent and just busied himself by looking at the interior of the room.

Tay then grabbed his hand and grasped it tightly.

"Hin, I'm sorry. I was being so selfish of you. I just got jealous that Earth can see you every day while I can't, so I did what I wasn't supposed to do. Sorry for being childish."

He cleared his throat and freed his hand from Tay's grasp.

He then grabbed the food tray on the bedside table and placed it on the overbed.

"Your mother said you haven't eaten anything. Come on, you need to eat," he helped Tay sit on the bed.

"So you're not angry at me anymore?"

"I won't be if you eat your food," he replied and gave Tay the spoon.

Instead of getting the spoon from him, Tay opened his mouth widely.

"Feed me," Tay grinned at him.

"Tsss. Such a baby."

"I'm a patient right now. Don't you pity me?" Tay pretended to sob.

"No. It's not like you lost a leg. Come on, just eat so you can take your medicine," he muttered and placed a spoonful into Tay's mouth.

_____

Tay beamed at New who was sitting beside his bed.

"What?" New hissed at him.

"I love you," he smiled even wider and pouted his lips then created a smacking sound.

"Tsss," New scoffed and flipped the magazine he was reading.

He shifted on his position and tapped the space beside him.

"Come here."

"Why?"

"Oh come on. Just lie down beside me. I want to sleep."

"Just go to sleep then."

"I can't."

"What's so hard about sleeping Tay? Just close your eyes and you're good to go."

He pouted his lips as he started sniffing.

"You're still mad at me," he sulked.

New then looked at him and sighed.

"Okay fine. What do you want me to do?" New put down the magazine and stood.

"Lie down beside me," he tapped the empty space beside him again.

"I'm not supposed to be on that bed, Tay."

"Oh come on. Just get on," he grabbed New's hand and dragged him to bed.

"There you go," he whispered as he scooted closer to New.

"Tsss. Didn't know you have this side of you."

"Hmmm. You're the only one who's allowed to see it though."

He hugged him tighter and closed his eyes.

"Hmmm.. This feels so much better."

"Be careful. You might hit your hand."

"Yes , baabe," he giggled and placed a kiss on New's forehead.

New then shifted his position and he let out a smile as New hugged him back.

"I'm sorry I lied to you. I was just at the mall to buy you a gift when I ran into Earth. It was purely coincidental," New whispered and started sniffing.

He hugged him tighter and brushed his hair.

"You're forgiven."

"By the way how did you know I was there?"

"Hmmm. Oh, Off sent me a photo and you happened to be caught in the frame."

"I didn't see him there though."

"Tsss. You know him. Unless it's Gun, he won't give a damn. Okay, let's stop talking about others. I just missed you so much."

"Tsss. We were just together last night."

"Yeah but we fought so it doesn't count."

New giggled and buried his face on his chest.

"I love you," New muttered and hugged him tighter.

"Hmmm? What is it that you said? I didn't hear you."

"I said I love you."

"Huh? Can you make it louder?"

"Yaaaah!" New removed his head from his chest and glared at him.

He leaned closer and kissed New fully on the lips, gently sucking the lower one.

"I love you, too."

_____

"Oh, you're still alive?"

Tay threw the pillow at Off who just barged in his room. Behind him was Arm who was carrying a fruit basket.

"As if you've never been in an accident yourself. Yours was even worse!"

"Oh hi there New!" Arm waved at New and handed him the basket.

He noticed Off staring at New whilst the latter placed the basket on the table.

"Hey! Why are you staring at my man?!" he hissed at Off and threw him another pillow.

"Tsss. You're so damn possessive! You're not like this with your previous lovers huh!" Off threw the pillow back at him. He groaned when it hit his face.

"New, do you have news about Gun?"

A long stretch of silence dominated the room as Off broke the question.

"Uhh, he calls me sometimes, but he often changes his number."

"Come on, Off. Just give Gun some more time. He'll come back when he's ready," Arm tapped Off's back and made him sit on the couch.

Tay stared at his friend and then at New. He then felt something in his chest. He couldn't even imagine what he would feel if New left him without a trace.

"Baaabee," he whined.

"Yes?" New immediately approached him.

"I want to pee. Help me."

"My God Tay! You're not disabled! I thought you were on the brink of death!"

All of them gawked at Apple who just came in without any announcement.

"Does anybody even know how to knock?? And why is everyone here?!" he raged as he looked at the three who were just making faces at him.

"I just wanna see if you're still alive. You still owe me three bags. And besides you still owe me some tea on your relationship with New," Apple flipped her hair and plopped down on the couch.

"What bags?" New looked at him in confusion.

"Uuh, just don't mind her. She's being weird again. Come on, I seriously wanna pee," he grabbed New's hand and pretended to limp when in fact, he didn't feel any pain in his legs.

"Such an actor. I thought you broke your wrist not your leg," Apple rolled her eyes at them.

He just neglected her remarks and held on to New as they slowly made their way towards the comfort room.

"Can you do it yourself? I'll just wait by the door," New asked him.

He lifted his hand and showed him his broken wrist. He pouted hoping New would get what he wanted to say.

"Yaah, don't tell me..."

He grinned at him.

"Seriously, Tay??!"

"Come on. It's not like you haven't touched this already. I'm in pain can't you see?"

New's face turned red and his eyes widened.

"Urrrgh! Pervert! How do you expect me to hold that one while you pee?!"

"Uhhhmm. I guess we should go?"

They both turned to look at Arm. New's face turned even redder as ever as they realized that they were not the only ones on the room.

_____

"Aren't you done??" New asked in frustration as he held Tay's length while looking at the ceiling of the comfort room.

"I'm almost done. Why aren't you looking? You have to aim properly at the urinal," Tay snickered and he had the sudden urge to smack the back of his head.

He glared at him. He was taken aback earlier for never in his lifetime had he ever held someone else's willy while peeing.

"Do you want me to chop this off??"

"Nah, you wouldn't do that or how am I gonna make you moan my name?"

"Urrrggh. Tay Tawan! Will you stop being a pervert?!"

"Why? I'm stating the truth."

"I still don't get why you're making me do this when your other hand is clearly fine."

"I can't hold it properly you see? I'm left handed."

"Tsss. Aren't you done??"

"Okay, okay. I'm done."

He quickly let go of Tay's and washed his hands.

"Why are you acting like mine is gross? You aren't like this whenever I'm inside you," Tay snickered and leaned on the wall.

He just rolled his eyes and continued washing his hands, lathering it with soap.

"New."

"Hin."

"Baaabeeee."

"Whaatt??"

He whirled around and muttered a curse when he saw Tay's length directly pointing at him.

"What are we gonna do about this?"

"TAY TAWAAANN!!!!"

_____

"You need someone to take care of you. You can be discharged this afternoon. If you don't want to hire a nurse, then you have to come home so we can take care of you."

It had been a week since the accident and he had been taking care of Tay during those days. He insisted on going to work but Tay highlighted the part in his terms about his duty of accompanying him even in personal matters.

"Moom. I don't need a nurse, okay? New's gonna live with me so you don't have to worry."

"Huh? Me?" New pointed himself while looking alternately at Tay's parents.

"Yes, you."

"He's your secretary for Pete's sake, Tay."

"And he's also my boyfriend so I don't see any problem with that," Tay grinned at his mother.

"Oooh, so you finally asked him for real huh? No more pretentions this time?"

New awkwardly smiled at her as she gazed at him.

"Oh, deaar. I officially welcome you to the family," she exclaimed and pulled him into a hug.

"Are you gonna be okay with that New? My son's quite a handful," his father smiled at him.

"Daadd," Tay whined.

"D-don't worry sir. I can certainly handle him," he nervously replied.

Tay didn't even inform him that his parents already know about their previous scheme. Now he was conscious with how he should act around them, especially his father, unlike their previous encounter. What if he would treat him differently now as a punishment for the dishonesty they did?

He looked nervously at Tay's father, waiting for him to say a word.

"That's Dad for you, young man," he tapped his shoulder and he couldn't help but let out a smile.

_____

New plopped down on the sofa at Tay's unit. As much as he loved Tay, he still couldn't get the point of living with him as a freaking nurse when he could hire someone else.

He glared as Tay sat beside him and placed his legs on his lap.

"What? You want me to chop off your legs?"

Tay chuckled and moved his legs away from his lap. But before he could say anything else, Tay already lied down and used his lap as a pillow.

"Hmm. It just feels so good having you around," Tay said and closed his eyes.

"Tsss."

He started brushing Tay's hair, running his fingers through the soft strands.

Tay then grabbed his hand and brought it to his lips, kissing it like it was the most precious thing he ever possessed.

"I'm sorry for doubting you, Hin. I promise, that would be the last time," Tay then placed his palm on his own cheek, his eyes closed and his breathing steady.

"I'm sorry for lashing out on you too without hearing your side," he replied and caressed Tay's face.

"I love you."

New smiled upon hearing those words from Tay. For the past years that he had been secretly looking at him from afar, taking stolen photos of him, never did he ever imagine that he would hear those words countless times from Tay.

"Yaah, aren't you gonna answer me?" Tay whined and shook his arm.

He chuckled and didn't say a thing.

Instead, he dipped down and kissed Tay fully on the lips.
