Jade was bored.
The tour bus was now entering Hallow Woods and all she could do from the moment they left the diner was study over and over again the huge book of Bodyguard Protocols that BC-13 had given her for tonight's event.
Everett had told her to meet him hours ago, but it was impossible because Alex had spent most of the trip in the bunk above his doing whatever wolves do to pass time.
Was there no privacy here?
Luckily, Alex came out from behind the curtains and headed for the kitchenette on the left side of the vehicle, opposite of the entry door.
Jade was sitting in the small armchair by the door when he took out a pan from under the small cook.
Finally! It was time to put this huge book aside and listen to what Everett had to say!
"Well, the concert will be in the pool area then?" Zeth was sitting in a small, two-seat dinette table next to the entry door on the right side, with many papers on the table and making many calls while Egor did the accounting. "Why not in the auditorium? What?! Some tickets sold twice? No, no, that's perfect! More money for Frank's charity but... Of course. There will be more space there and we won't have to face any problems. Of course. People who received a resold ticket will also be able to enter if there is more space, you're right. Was it our mistake or TicketMonster's? It was obvious that it wasn't us but as always we have to solve it ourselves."
"Vamos a aullarle a la luna! Scare the devil! Scare the neighbours! We'll be so loud!" Alex was singing 'Howl At The Moon' in the kitchenette while making some weird tofu hamburger. Jade really liked that song, it was very catchy, one of the best dance songs from 'Neon Wights' and the only Latin Pop song the boys had sung so far. The video was filmed in Mexico, the country where Alex was born, during a free concert in the Zócalo of Mexico City. It was a big deal. They even gave a surprise concert outside a place called the Palacio de Bellas Artes. It was just them, an amplifier and Finn's electric guitar. That was enough to make it memorable. Alex said in an interview that next year they would return to Mexico to film a new video during the DÃa de Muertos parade, and Jade was very excited about that. Maybe by then she would officially be Zeth's girlfriend, and the others' too, and would travel the world with them, all very much in love with her.
"Don't say a word and aúlla!" Alex continued singing while searching for some spices in a small closet, "Con tus gritos! I get so wild! Make me yours now! Be mine for a night! Hagamos 'eso'!" He grabbed some weird salt shakers and then continued singing, imitating Draco very well, even in his way of dancing, "Ooh that feels so good! Now dame un beso!"
"It's now or never," Jade slammed the book shut and stood up. Zeth noticed her urgency to go to the back and raised an eyebrow, but lowered his gaze when his phone rang again. "Don't be suspicious, don't be suspicious," Jade walked to the back of the vehicle, passing by the first set of bunks.
To her right, Frank was lying down in his bunk with his headphones on and Draco was in the one below playing Angry Bats on his tablet while eating Sweet Bat Gummies.
To her left, Finn was in the upper bunk reading a book and Paul was sleeping, even snoring, in the one below.
"Everett?" Opening some fancy red curtains, she entered the bunks located at the rear.
The top bunk was Alex's, and there were many stuffed animals on it. How cute!
On the lower bed was Everett doing... Nothing.
He was lying there with his hands on his chest and his ice blue eyes lost in infinity.
"I'm glad you could finally come," Everett said without looking at her.
"I was told that the beds stow away and the bedroom converts to a lounge area with a couch and coffee table." Said Jade, sitting on the bed, "Shall we?"
"If we must," Everett replied, "You want coffee?"
"Alex took over the kitchenette," Jade said, laughing because Everett's bed was huge, much bigger than the one above. "I doubt I will get any coffee anytime soon."
"Who is driving?" Everett raised an eyebrow and she pointed back.
"Autopilot," she replied, "Frank's invention, I was told"
"I hope we do not crash," Everett raised his eyebrows, "It was initially faulty and could only travel in straight line. It was rewired by Frank's younger brother but we better be careful. In fact, Franklyn built this entire bus from scratch, Erich helped too."
"They did a great job then," Jade said, sighing, "What else has he done?"
"Franklyn upgraded turbo engine," Everett began counting with his fingers, "Installed high-tensile strength cable to tour bus, like Evie's grapple gun. He added flamethrowers to exhaust pipes. Reconfigured panelling and windows to be bulletproof, installed rocket launcher in compartment on top of bus, installed laser turrets. Oh! And small spiked balls can be deployed to pop pursuers tires." He then hit the wall next to his bunk, startling Jade. A hidden gun compartment opened up. There was a gun inside, "Bus has many of these too."
"Oh! That's a..."
"Å korpion vz. 61, developed in 1959 by Miroslav RybáÅ," said Everett, "Cup holder between driver and passenger seats is hidden compartment too. It holds FN Five-seven semi-automatic pistol."
"You know about guns, huh?" Jade asked as Everett closed the compartment. "I don't know if you scare me or if that's sexy," she laughed and Everett smiled slightly, rising from the bed with a grunt to sit next to her, although he had to slouch a little. "Thank you for telling me that the tour bus is a mobile weapon, but I was talking about my dad. Do you know what else Erich has done? Regarding monsters? To begin with, why do you know my dad? Did you meet him at your sister's salon?"
"Oh! Erich and I became friends at his gym," Everett said with a slight smile, "In fact, I won bodybuilding trophy and he was my manager. Didn't you see photo in his office?"
"I've never been to his gym, I hate sweating," Jade looked around. "You know, I thought it would be more chaotic to be in such a small place all together but it's pretty quiet here. I like it."
"I like it too," Everett said with a slight smile, "We Yeti always seek silence. Mama Yeti used to say I was as quiet as Shadowman when I was Kid Yeti. Shadowmen are very quiet and don't like light nor noise."
"Shadowmen?"
"Hasn't Evie told you about Shadowmen? Because technically you already know one... Boomer, guy from Fifth Octave."
"Evie has hidden many things from me. Bestie of the year, huh?" Jade looked up at him with a frown.
"I want to be Bestie of Year, so I will tell you," Everett nodded, "Shadowmen were invention of Franco Rubinstein and Mother Alycia, lethal weapons with powers of God Azathor. Queen Zafira used Shadowmen to end Madmen rebellion in Madlands. All Madmen were banished from Evalon then, and Dukes Clyde and Jeyk Hill were exiled to Hallow Woods, where they founded town as we know it today, and that technically marked beginning of Age Of Disputed Lands."
"And why did the rebellion start in the first place?"
"Because Madmen were not happy with Franco Rubinstein being ruler of independent Franken's Town," Everett replied quickly.
"How can you know so much?"
"I heard Zeth and Draco talk about it once. I have a good Yeti memory." He replied brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Jade, I want to show you something," Everett lifted a pillow, pulling out an old notebook, opening it on some pages where he had left coloured markers, "People think I'm stupid or that I don't pay attention, but in reality, everything gets recorded in my Yeti Brain by accident."
"What is this?"
"Things I've written when Yeti Brain repeats other people's conversations," Everett was flipping through his notebook too quickly, "I did some math and realised something."
He stopped at a page, one that said Evie had spoken to Zeth on November 1, 2019 at two thirty-two in the afternoon outside the Solar.
"Evie said it was best not to talk about this in front of me, I was sitting on stairs writing song and Zeth said I wouldn't understand, so I listened to everything." Everett said.
"And do you really remember everything they said?" Jade raised an eyebrow and Everett nodded.
"I even remember it was Friday, that #1 song in UK was Dance Monkey, that Beto O'Rourke ended presidential campaign that day, that I was wearing white T-shirt with blue and purple stripes, that I had pancakes and blueberries for breakfast," Everett said.
"Ok, quick question. Do you possess hyperthymesia or something?" Jade raised an eyebrow, "You know... The rare medical condition that makes you remember all you have seen or heard? You never watched Unforgettable?"
"I like to think I'm unforgettable. It's nice thought. Thank you." Everett nodded, looking down, blushing, "But back to topic. This conversation was weird. We band members had known each other for less than month, and I guess Zeth thought I was dumb."
"And what did they talk about?" Jade raised an eyebrow.
"I wrote everything that same night. Yeti Brain keeps repeating conversations if I don't write them down," he cleared his throat, "Do you want me to read it or show you?"
"Show me," Jade nodded. He handed her his notebook, and then started to play with his fingers a little.
SEXY BODYGUARD - Mr. Rahman, I have collected all the data you asked me for. You see, in 1917, Franco's Pharma opened its first lab in Mexico City. My gut tells me House Rubinstein and House Alfaro were planning to join forces to overthrow the Shadowmen of The Madlands. That would explain why Lycans of Moonfall were brought to this new lab in Mexico and why a man with the Alfaro surname was named Chief Researcher in alliance with Franco, not under his orders.
BOSSY BOSS â That doesn't make sense. A year later, Human-Zeldrich Hybrids were created in Franken's Town's lab and Zafira was immediately informed, not to mention that the Hybrids became her three most fearsome weapons during The Age Of The Disputed Lands. If Franco and Alycia wanted to overthrow House Boogingham to conquer The Madlands, they would have used the Hybrids. There must be another explanation. Did you discover anything else?
SEXY BODYGUARD â Why yes, Mr. Rahman. In 1978, Franco's Pharma laboratory in Mexico created the Lycandros-Alpha project from a sample of Alfaro blood and a sample of Rahman Blue. Who was in charge? Dr. Loberto Alfaro, the question is, where did he get Rahman Blue from?
BOSSY BOSS - I don't know, but what I do know is that Alex's grandfather's name was Loberto. This further confirms my theory that the Rubinstein and Alfaro alliance had nothing to do with the abandoned lands of Evalon. The Age Of The Disputed Lands had ended sixty years before the creation of Lycandros-Alpha.
SEXY BODYGUARD - The strangest thing is that when Victoriano Rubinstein began an investigation of the Mexican branch in 1979, Lycandros-Alpha disappeared and there are no records of where it is. Ivan Helsee infiltrated the company before the project was engineered but never found any clue as to why it was created, where it ended up or what happened to it, and there is very little data because the laboratory was shut down shortly after Victoriano's investigation. In fact, Loberto Alfaro remained so off the radar with his family that I found no record of him until 2004 when some of the Alfaros moved to Hallow Woods for unknown reasons.
BOSSY BOSS - Okay. Then I want you to find out what happened during those years. Come back to me when you have that data, I'll try to get the information out of Alex, and I would appreciate it if you did the same. He has been interested in you since college, I'm sure it won't take him long to talk to you about his past.
SEXY BODYGUARD - You know I'm an expert at seduction, Mr. Rahman. I'll do whatever I have to do.
BOSSY BOSS - Don't put yourself down like that, woman. I'm not asking you to seduce him, I'm just saying that he tends to talk too much around women he likes. Just stand next to him and believe me, he'll talk.
SEXY BODYGUARD â Of course, Mr. Rahman.
BOSSY BOSS - And let me be clear, Evie. I don't like you and I don't trust you, but I would never ask you to wink at someone to get your job done. You are a person, not an object. Understood?
SEXY BODYGUARD â Understood, Mr. Rahman.
"I don't understand anything at all," Jade grunted. "And that thing about Alex being interested in Evie? Wow! But what does this have to do with me?"
"At first glance, nothing. That's why it took me while to connect dots." Everett nodded, flipping through some pages quickly, "Now look at this."
Jade immediately saw the page dated... Oh! That was the third Monster Mash Audition Day! October 10, 2019!
ERICH - I'm sure you'll win the bodybuilding competition, Everett. I haven't seen anyone as big as you since Oliver Richter, you know?
HANDSOME YETI (ME) - I don't know who that is.
ERICH - He is huge like you. You know? My family used to talk a lot about the Yeti of Yeti Mount, and I never thought I'd meet one!
ME - I am from Mount Everest in Nepal, not Yeti Mount. Are you from Evalon?
ERICH - Something like that. My ancestors were Queen Zafira's deadly weapons, but I don't want to bore you with stories from the past.
ME - If you are from Evalon, what are you doing here?
ERICH - I ran away from home with a friend who wanted out of Evalon, and came here thinking, I don't know, that this was a kingdom or something like that. I was very surprised that Madew Hill was the dean of a university, I mean, there's no such thing back in Evalon!
ME - Did you go to college? You don't seem very smart.
ERICH - Ouch! Wow, Big Guy! You have the gift of gab! But yes, I went to college and was very surprised to find Evalonian blood here. In fact, two of them offered to be my pregnant friend's 'Sapphire Sentinels' and boy was that fun! Hey! By the way, those guys are famous now or something. Their names are Zeth and Draco.
ME - Are they as handsome as me?
ERICH - Zeth is perfect. But I heard he and Draco are about to start a band or something. Why don't you go audition? I've heard you sing in the showers and you're amazing!
ME - I'll go after bodybuilding competition.
ERICH - You'll be late. Go now, it's at the Hallow Inn.
ME - I don't care, they'll hear me sing like it or not after competition.
"I don't understand any of this. What does it have to do with me?" Jade groaned.
"Erich said his ancestors were Zafira's weapons," Everett said and Jade shook her head, "You still don't understand? Well, look at this..."
Jade tucked her hair behind her ear and began to read...
DRACO - And remember, Everett, on housekeeping days, never forget your broom. Without your broom you are nothing.
FRANK â Does anyone remember how to prepare the rice that Alex's grandmother made for us in Mexico?
DRACO - Oh! I think she said that for every cup of rice, three cups of water. Let me help you.
ALEX â You know? I never understood why my grandmother didn't want to come to Hallow Woods. I mean, it's pretty quiet here.
FRANK - Damn! Draco! What did you do?!
DRACO - Damn! Fire! There's a Fire! Where's the fire extinguisher?!
"I don't understand any of this," Jade frowned, "What does it have to do with..."
"It's other page," Everett said with a grunt.
"Oh! Sure! Sorry!" She cocked her head, "And what is this one about?"
"This is conversation Zeth had with Evie. Zeth was on phone with speaker on and we had just arrived at university. It was just before you came in speaking Kardashark saying that Finn gave you his number." Everett explained, "I wrote this before singing autographs so I would have clear mind."
Jade looked at the notebook, and was impressed that Everett could even remember the exact hour of the day.
ZETH - So you've confirmed that Erich is Jannet's father? She is not a Hunter then?
EVIE - I talked to him this morning at his gym. And her name is Jade. She is Erich's daughter legally speaking. He told me that you and Draco were her mum's 'Sapphire Sentinels'.
ZETH - Better keep her around then. Maybe we should ask Baphelise for a new apartment in Lyonfort again.
EVIE - It's pretty risky that Erich brought her to Hallow Woods. And I found out that she's not here by chance. Erich had some messages on his computer at the gym. Apparently, he asked Jade's mother to hide the university acceptance letter to force her to come here.
ZETH - What for? Damn. Evie, I have to hang up. Everett keeps staring at me without blinking and it makes me nervous.
EVIE - Okay, and by the way, Draco didn't close the door of the tour bus.
ZETH - How do you know that?
EVIE - I'm in the bell tower, I see everything from here. Talk to you later.
"My mother hid the letter from the university?" Jade turned cold, covering her mouth, "But why would she do something so horrible?!" Jade was turning red with anger. Everett grabbed the notebook and flipped through the pages quickly. "What are we looking for now?"
"It's just that I never write in chronological order, I just open random page and write. Where is it? Where is it? Here!" Everett pointed with a finger. "Zeth and I were gossiping when we left you alone with Laska to go get shoes and wedding dress. You remember that? Laska asked me for Zeth's autograph."
"I do," Jade nodded and started reading as soon as he handed her the notebook. Everett was proud to be helpful, he even smiled a lot.
ME - What do you know about pretty scrawny girl?
ZETH - Jade? Well, there was not much. She officially moved here a few days ago, but she had lived in Hallow Woods before and was Frank's neighbour across the street.
ME - She lived here?
ZETH - Yeah, a few months after Jade turned eight, her mother decided she couldn't live in Hallow Woods with Erich anymore, so she left with Jade.
"Thanks for calling me pretty, and scrawny," Jade rolled her eyes and Everett nodded.
"You're welcome. When did your parents meet?"
"I have no idea. I only know that they both moved to Hallow Woods together and bought a house but they never got married."
"What year were you born?"
"I was born on January 8, 2005."
"Oh! Same day as Evie but different month, and year."
"When's Evie's birthday?"
"September 8th," Everett said.
"She and I aren't even close to... Whatever!"
"Anyway. You were eight years old in 2013 if my math serves me right," Everett said and Jade nodded.
"Yes, I left on December 23rd, I remember it because I was afraid that Santa Claus wouldn't find me if I moved without giving notice. Why?"
"In 2013, Zeth asked Baphelise to urgently make new apartment for Erich in Lyonfort."
"Wait, but I thought you didn't meet Zeth until 2019?"
"True, but Baphelise told me about 2013 thingy when she made urgent magic rooms in Solar in 2019. I asked for ice bed. Anyway, Baphelise told me that she expected Erich to move into new apartment, but instead some woman and her eight-year-old son arrived."
"God! I'm already lost. Can you simplify it for me?"
"Sure."
Then he remained silent, looking into infinity, humming a song. Jade stared at him, as if waiting for an answer. But he didn't say anything.
"So... Are you going to tell me your theory?" Jade cocked her head.
"Loading," he said, "My WiFi is slow sometimes. It's frustrating to me too. Like when you watch porn and it starts buffering, and you buffer with video."
"You know you can not-buffer with the video, right? That you can... Keep going." She bit her lip.
"That's possible?!" Everett raised his eyebrows very high.
"Well yeah, I guess," Jade rubbed her forehead.
"Wait! I have theory now!" Everett exclaimed, scaring Jade, "Shall I tell you?"
"Well... Yeah!"
"I think ancestors Erich was talking about were Queen Zafira's Human-Zeldrich hybrids engineered by Franco's Pharma. Erich ran away from home with friend but that friend was your mum, who ended up going to college with Zeth and Draco, who protected her from, I don't know, maybe hunters? I think Erich met your mum in Evalon and then you were born, but..."
"But?"
"Loading," Everett said, then snapped his fingers and nodded. "Erich must have discovered that he had son with another woman and to keep them safe, he asked Zeth to take them to Lyonfort. Your mother must have found out and left with you with broken heart, which means that..."
"Does that mean I'm the daughter of a Human-Zeldrich Hybrid?" Jade gasped, and then made a disgusted face, "Wait! I have a half-brother?!"
"I don't want to interrupt your 'Mattpat Theory' but..." Zeth said, opening the curtains, looking at Jade and Everett a little annoyed, "We're here."
"Were you behind the curtains listening?" Jade swallowed hard.
"Every word," Zeth nodded, looking at Everett with something resembling pride, "You amaze me, Big Guy. You are close to discovering the truth, too close in fact. I think you would make a great Yeti detective."
"I want TV show," Everett puffed out his chest and put his hands on his waist, "And raise!"
"We'll talk about the TV show later," Zeth patted him on the chest, "For now, let's..."
"And my raise?" Everett growled.
"For now! We have to get ready for tonight's concert," Zeth replied, "And Jade, I think you and Erich have a lot to talk about."
"You knew I was a monster and you didn't tell me?" Jade raised an eyebrow, "And you know who my half-brother is and you never told me anything?!"
"I know everything. Draco and I were your mother's 'Sapphire Sentinels' after all."
"And who is my brother?"
"Oh no, miss, it's Erich's responsibility to tell you everything, not mine. I don't do spoilers," Zeth said with a mocking laugh.
"I'll have to ask him, or my mum," Jade said and Zeth nodded, "She definitely owes me an explanation."
"And we're not going to talk about possibility that Alex's dad is result of experiment?" Everett asked, growling.
"Yeah, yeah, sure," Jade rolled her eyes, "But not now because that's not about me."
Soon enough, outside the main gate of Lyonfort, with the afternoon sun shining and the wind blowing hard, Zeth stood in front of everyone and raised his voice.
"Finn got an idea. Dress up as humans for Halloween," Zeth started walking, a finger on his chin, "Laska can help us with that, but it will have to be once we have arrived at the hotel."
"Zeth, I like the idea," Finn said, raising his hand, "But my hair is going to fall out with another makeover."
"My sister is hair expert," Everett said, snarling, "She would never let hair fall out."
"I think it's an interesting concept," Frank nodded with his hands in his pockets, "I have some skin-coloured plates in my workshop, I've been wanting to give myself a more human look for a while already."
"Frank, you already look human," Jade said and Evie looked down.
"Sometimes you need an extra to feel human again. Sometimes a missing piece ruins everything," Evie whispered and Frank looked at her strangely.
"Hey Frank! Remember the glass eye I found at the diner?" Draco said between laughs, taking it out of his pocket, "A little disinfectant and voila!"
"Hey! I can put the camera of my spare eye in there and wear it!" Frank said, taking the eye as Draco jumped happily in circles, "It will take about ten or twenty minutes as long as the glass doesn't crack. Thank you!"
"I have so much to do and so little time," Zeth pulled out his phone and checked his schedule, "Guys, go relax for a while, it's been a long day. I'll take care of everything. Laska will be waiting for us at the hotel in two hours... Shit! I have less time than I thought!"
"Zeth, can I talk to you..." Jade spoke but he raised his hand.
"It will be later Jade. You and the bodyguards go get your uniforms. Evie's apartment." He replied without even looking at her.
"This guy loses his charm with so much work," Kasey rolled her eyes.
"Zeth, let us help you!" Finn insisted but Zeth shook his head.
"Finn's right." Alex said as a trailer moved in reverse towards the Main Gate, "You'll do everything while we do nothing?"
"Pretty much... Damn! The moving team has arrived to take the tables and... Fuck!" Zeth held his head tightly, "I completely forgot to take the stage to the hotel this morning!"
"I can help carry things," Everett said, and Zeth shook his head.
"I have a team to do that, Frostakov. But I didn't dismantle the portable stage. It must still be at the Bailey because we were supposed to shoot the final part of the video there, which at the last minute was at the strip club. Shit!" He paced, then snapped his fingers, "Wait. Draco, do you have 'Alien Crap' ready yet?"
"Almost," Draco bit his lip and kicked a pebble, "I just need to record it entirely and decide who will sing what."
"Get that done quickly!" Zeth was pacing frantically.
"Zeth, I can help you..." Frank raised his hand but the leader shook his head.
"No. Do your eye thing, it is important for you," Zeth ordered, "If you want to wear your flesh-coloured plates, that's your choice."
"I'd like to," Frank looked at his bionic arm, "I'd like to look like I did before the incident again."
"Alex, you will be in charge of designating who will sing what in 'Alien Crap' while Draco reviews the track list for tonight's concert," Zeth said, "I don't want him to get distracted. Force him to focus!"
"Got it, boss," Alex gave a military salute, "Come on Draquito. We have to hurry."
"Zeth! Let me help you!" Finn yelled and Zeth pulled strands of his hair.
"Fine! You will help me with the inventory. Make sure everything on the list is in the trailer."
"And can I help carry things?" Everett asked, "I know portable stage better than anyone. I know how to maximize space. I can even take it completely apart and put it back together in second, I'll remember all pieces and where they go when I get to hotel."
"Well, do that," Zeth rubbed his forehead, "Jade! What are you and the bodyguards doing here? Go! If there are problems with the new uniforms it's better to know now!"
"I used to repair my stripper outfit often," Paul said, raising up a hand, "I can help. I'm good with needles and threads."
"Good! Then go with them," Zeth was already breathing heavily, worse when Egor came out of the tour bus with a bunch of papers to sign. "Of course, I also have to sign the permits to use the pool! Damnit!"
"Come on Jade," Evie grabbed her arm but Jade shook her head.
"Go ahead. I need to talk to Zeth." Jade insisted.
"Good luck with that," Kasey said, hugging Paul around the waist, surprising the boy, "Come on, handsome. There are things to take care of."
As the group separated to do their respective tasks, Jade approached Zeth, but Finn stood in the way.
"Finn? I need to talk to Zeth," Jade grumbled, "It's urgent."
"And what could be so urgent?" Finn raised an eyebrow, "Let Zeth work."
"Finn. My past is more important than your concert tonight, okay? I'm the protagonist of the story and everyone should stop doing their thing to listen to me."
"I'll tell him about your book fantasy when he is not busy," Finn nodded.
"I need to know what Zeth knows about my past, Finn. Didn't you hear me?" Jade said, "I just found out I'm a monster and I have no idea what..."
"What?! Oh! Well... Alright, come with me," Finn put his arm around Jade and led her to the tour bus, stepping inside and closing the door behind him.
Jade and Finn were now alone in here, and he was breathing heavily, frustrated.
"Jade," he said and she blinked a lot, "What are you talking about? What do you mean you're a monster?"
"Finn. My dad and my mum come from Evalon," Jade was breathing fast, "You don't know what's going on in my mind right now."
"Look, I'll tell you what," Finn crossed his arms and leant against the door. The way his biceps bulged was so attractive. Jade couldn't help but stare at a prominent vein. "Zeth is busy right now. I know it is shocking to learn you are a monster, trust me, I am shocked too, but Zeth can't pay attention to you right now. Yeah, he needs to learn how to delegate. He always supervises everyone, and he solves problems, but I think you are being selfish."
"I feel betrayed by Zeth." she rubbed her forehead and leaned against the kitchenette stove. She needed a distraction. ""Zeth always knew I was a monster and he never said anything! He's a horrible, horrible person! And I'm sure he's ignoring me on purpose!"
"That's absurd, Jade. If you haven't noticed, Zeth is always working!" Finn threw his hands up in frustration. "He and I? We are bandmates, and we don't even spend time together. We can barely talk to each other! He's such a workaholic and sometimes, I swear to God... Argh!"
"He is always too busy," she rolled her eyes.
"Last night he left me with blue balls and..." he blushed, swallowing thickly, "You weren't supposed to know that, okay?"
"And everything's okay now?" Jade asked.
"Well, yeah. I, well, took care of that myself?"
"I mean you and Zeth. Did he at least apologise?"
"Oh! That's what you meant! Well. No. Why?"
"Oh. Well, he obviously doesn't love you enough if he didn't even say sorry, I guess."
"I think Zeth loves me, but not more than his job," Finn rolled his eyes, "But... What does it have to do with your monster nature?"
"Nothing! Nothing is ever about me and I'm sick of it!" Jade then exited the tour bus, slamming the door behind her. "Stupid Evie! What does she have that I don't? What does she... Ouch! Watch it you moron!" Jade yelled at a boy.
Oh no.
"Oh, I'm sorry, Miss Kardashark," Zedrick. Why?! "Your Majesty, I don't mean to waste your precious time but could you tell Zeth I left some fanmail in the library?"
"Miss Kardashark has no time for you. Tell him yourself," she said, walking away.
"Fine! I'll tell him when I get back from Brooke's! I beg you forgive this pleb for wasting your time, Miss Kardashark!" Zedrick shouted and Jade pretended not to hear him.
