I think it's amazing that the founders of Target are recognizing the possible diversities in gender, and allowing people of different identities to use the bathroom they most comfortable in. Many people, (mainly conservative Christians) abhor this idea because they think the policy is allowing men into the women's restroom, but they're wrong. These people are simply women who were born with penises and have no intention of raping or in any way sexually assaulting children.
First off, there is a distinct visual difference between a transgender woman and a sexual predator in a dress. Second, rape has always been illegal... how come this policy is now bringing light to the subject of sexual assault? Women can commit the crime against little girls just as easily as men can commit it against young boys. Rape isn't always a man against a woman... yet that's what this commotion is implying.
I also feel sorry for all the transgender men and women who have to use the bathroom of the opposite sex because of the stupid law in North Carolina. There are plenty of cis-passing trans* people and everyone involved will be uncomfortable with these people using the wrong restrooms. Why can't everyone just pee in peace?
