Randhir looked down at the sleeping beauty in his arms... this woman had turned his world upside down. ...She had done what nobody had done before... she had broken his well garded shell... an how did she achieve that you ask ? ...with smiles, insults and hammer blows. ...Charming !

He knew he was rude, aggressive...he stole, he killed. And she ? well she was nothing like him... He wondered how this, ...whatever they had , was even going to work... Their worlds were poles apart.

She had principals and standards while he couldn't care less about trivial mundanities...She had perfect ideals and lifelong planning... While he wondered everyday if he was going to survive the next ... She was day he was night !

It made him wonder to what extent were they ready to compromise... And the question that had popped up the instant he had realized he had feeling for this woman was what if she left him ?... how would it be without her now ?...could he consider a life without her now that he had had a taste of her ?...of happiness ? ...he didn't know if he would be able to handle it...he sighed.

He felt her stir in his arms, she was waking up. He looked at her skimpy nightie in the broad day light. Her upper chest and bare thigh were a dangerous temptation, he started making pattern on her thigh.

"Wake up sleeping beauty..." he whispered, his face very close to hers.

Sanyukta sleepily opened her eyes...still in her bubble she wasn't prepared for the sight she caught. ...seeing a pair of eyes staring back at her, just millimeters away from her face caught her totally off-guard...

She got startled.

She screamed.

She punched...pushing away the thing that was creepily lurking over her.

"What the hell ?!" groaned Randhir, massaging his nose.

Oh ! ...Randhir... realized Sanyukta. Randhir was the thing that was creepily lurking over her... she frowned.

"What what the hell ? I should be the one saying that !... you are lucky I didn't break your nose !" she snapped back at him.

"Seriously who the hell scares someone like that when he just woke up ?!" she asked. Like seriously, imagine you are just waking up, still in your world, bathing in chocolate or whatever... and the moment you fully open your eyes, a dark figure sneaks up on you... just millimeters away from you... what do you do ? ...as a normally constituted human being you panic ! and in the panic the first natural reflex is a good tight slap... and then you screams bloody murder at the top of your lungs... It is a totally natural reaction !

"You almost broke my nose you wild woman !" Randhir whined.

"You almost gave me heart attack you monkey !... I could have died" she snapped back, dramatically, before adding : "You on the other hand, would have only lost the ability to greet Maori people in New Zealand..." she added to make her point...yeah because apparently theses people greeted each other by pressing each other's nose, weird right ?... Never mind the point was to show him how insignificant was his lost compared to hers !

"You know what ? ...am not going to ask what the hell is a Macaroni or whatever, and neither am I going to point out your monkey-obsession... I have a better idea" he said, his eyes twinkling with an evil glint.

"Come here wild woman... l" he grabbed her by the waist, pulling her toward himself.

"Let me check... if my nose is still functioning correctly" he said mischievously, forwarding it in the base of her appealing neck, deeply smelling her aroma.

"Ewww... what are you doing ?! stop that, we are not animals ! " she said pushing him away and getting up from the bed. ...The only time when one was allowed to sniff like an animal was when you sniffed food. Spicy meat byriani... freshly baked chocolate cake... fried green chilli...hmmm, she gluped down...drooling over the buffet in her imagination. ...While Randhir could be called sex on legs, Sanyukta could be called stomach on leg... lethal combination!

"Well not me at least...you on the other hand, it's debatable" she added straitening her nightie. She was sure she was not an animal...Randhir on the other hand...it was debatable.

Randhir smirked and said "Only you can talk to me like that !"

"Had it been anyone one else..." he started.

"...You would have his head cut off his body, impaled it on Satan's trident and have it hung up on the highest tower available, for everyone to see. I know... I know..." she finished for him, rolling her eyes.

"Ah you know me well kitten !"

She rolled her eyes at him.

"Ok now shut that pretty mouth of yours and put this sexy body on use, go and get me breakfast !" he ordered her.

"Am not your slave !" she snapped in outrage.

"No... but as you can see, am still injured... " he said gesturing toward his wound.

Right... the bullet ! The thing that triggered it all !

She sighed.

Without a word she left the room.

***

Nothing could have prepared her for the sight she witnessed upon entering the kitchen.

Vidushi and Parth were all over each other, heavily making out in the kitchen...Wow wow wow wait a second ! How ? when ? why ?... and above all... why had not she been informed sooner?!!! She was their official matchmaker, wasn't she ?... she should have been informed on the spot !...Right Sanyukta, like they would have stopped in the middle of a confession or a kiss just so they can call you and inform you of the latest improvement in their relationship... right.

No but seriously, how ? Last time she checked Parth was threating poor Vidushi like an old, over-used mop...

Not being able to contain her curiosity anymore, Sanyukta cleared her throat to gain their attention.

The couple instantly let go off each other and stared, or rather glared, at the intruder. Easy... easy there... intruder means no harm... intruder comes in peace... no eating intruder.

Parth clenched his fisted, then huffed and immediately left... His reaction had been unexpectedly civil considering his aggressive and impulsive nature... !

Sanyukta looked back at a grinning Vidushi.

"You missy have a lot of explanation to do !" she pointed her finger at Vidushi narrowing her eyes.

"Long story..." Vidushi smiled at Sanyukta.

"I have all the time in the world... details now !" Sanyukta replied.

Vidushi sighed and lifted up her top, showing a bandage freshly wrapped up all around her waist.

Sanyukta gasped at the sight.

"OMG... what happened to ? ...you alright ?" she panicked, seeing the ugly wound.

"After you and Sahil left with the boss, me and Parth stayed to finish off the work"

Flashback

Upon breaking in the room, Vidushi saw Sameer pulling the trigger. Her eyes grew wide as she instantly turned her eyes toward the target. Within the same second, she witnessed Randhir steeping in just in time, shielding Sanyukta... a bullet lodged in his shoulder. She cut short her moment of shock and on instinct she threw herself on Sameer, successfully tackling him on the ground.

She struggled to keep the upper hand but the surprise factor gave her the advantage she needed and eventually she disarmed him. She snatch his gun, aiming it at him. From the corner of his eyes she saw Sahil and Sanyukta getting out their injured boss.

She wondered where was Parth.

With her gun, she motioned Sameer to move in corner of the room.

Seeing that everyone had left the room, and the path was clear...she quickly closed her eyes and shot Sameer...lucky for them if was a soundless gun, otherwise a crowd would have gathered here by now.

...It was not her first kill but it always unsettled her and made her paranoid to take the life out of someone.

Then came the hard part. Dragging the body out of here and cleaning the mess... where the hell was Parth, she wondered again. ...She needed to find him, she couldn't drag the body by herself without leaving a trail of blood. Pushing the body under the bed, she closed the door in search of Parth. ...

Must be taking care of Sameer's bodyguards, she thought.

Turning the corner of the alley, she found Parth beating up one of the guards... but he seemed unaware of the other guards behind him, sneaking up on him with a dagger in his hand.

She panicked, and creamed Parth's name... and for the second time this day, she threw herself on the man.

Unfortunately for her, this time it didn't went as well as the first. The guy turned their position, trapping her under him, he swiftly aimed the blade toward her, cutting her... leaving a gash on her stomach. ...It hurt like a bitch !

But before she had time to react, the guy was thrown off her.

Parth had come to her help. She let out a breath and laid on the floor for a second closing her eyes. The adrenaline pumping in her veins. The wound on her stomach was bleeding profusely by now.

Her comrade, finished off the guards and looked toward her.

Vidushi sighed, it had been a long day !

Opening her eyes she came face to face with Parth staring at her ...with a angry yet confused expression on his face. She chuckled at the face he was making.

"What..." she said slowly.

"You are hurt..." he informed her. His tone uncertain... as if he was contemplating how to feel about it.

Vidushi chuckled "I have noticed..."

"Why did you do it ?" he asked her.

"Why did I do what ?" she retorted back. His jaw clenched as if he was struggling with himself.

"Helped me..." he said, his eyes roaming on her wound.

"As if you don't know..." she said, looking away.

"I didn't ask for your help..." he said angrily.

Vidushi scoffed... seriously ?! she thought. ... She sighed, she was going to explain it one last time, one last time !...Looking back at him, she let out her feelings... choosing her words carefully.

"Look Parth, despite everything you think about me... you and your well being matters to me... if you can't understand that, I can't do anything for you... helping you... was my own decision... I made this decision because to me, your life is more important than mine..." she paused.

"I don't expect you to understand... Hell !...at this point, I don't expect anything from you... but that was MY decision to make and you can't take that away from me...!" she finished confidently.

"Now if you are done ogling at me like I have grown horns, could you please help me before I bleed to death... " she asked him lightly.

For the first time, Vidushi witnessed something else in his eyes...something else than anger and repulsion toward her... something even better than love... She saw respect in his eyes.

Enfd of flashback

"And rest is history..." Vidushi told Sanyukta.

"OMG OMG ! Congratulations girl ! That's what I call having guts ! I.am.so.proud.of.you ! " she hugged Vidushi.

"Yeah... yeah enough of me, now would you tell me what's going on between you and the boss ?" Vidushi asked Sanyukta suggestively.

"Nothing is going on... " she replied concealing her smile.

"Oh come on, we all know something is going on between you two... besides that's smile at the corner of your lips says it all" she smirked at Sanyukta.

"Seriously you guys are perfect for each other... " added Vidushi.

"How so ?"

"You are the only one that can stand in front of him, talk to him the way you do, no one dares, and no offense, but he is the only one that can tame a wild girl like you " she chuckle and winked at her.

"True... "

Sanyukta kept silent for a moment.

"You are right there is something going on... but I dnt know what to make out of it." she tiredly told her friend...

"I don't know how to say that...I know randhir like me and care for me ...and even I care for him... there is no doubt on that..." she started resuming the situation.

"Come on Sanyukta, this is more than just like... you know that !" stepped in Vidushi

"Okeyy, fine... may be... may be there is more... but hey he didn't say that..." Sanyukta countered.

"Does he really need to ?" Vidushi raised her eyebrow.

No he didn't need to...she was right.

"Whatever...this is not the point" she brushed away the topic "...the problem is the context, the situation, us... who we are... I always wanted a safe and secured life..." she explained Vidushi her vision of the future.

"...getting married, having children, raising and educating my children, having romantic dinners with my husband and so on... but none of this fits with... well... withthis... " she said gesturing around her, referring the current situation...to the gangsters.

"How can will it work ?... Am sure about my feelings, and I thinks he feels the same too... but... " she added, still something bothering her.

"But what ? if you love each other then it's all good, you'll make it..." claimed Vidushi.

"If life was as simple as that..." Sanyukta sighed at her friend ignorance.

" If life was as simple as that... there would not be such a high rate of divorce." she informed her.

"Face the reality Vidushi, we are not on a movie where the girl and guy fall in love and they have their happily ever after... it's real life, and we can't overlook threats saying oh it's ok we love each other, we will find a way... this is not realistic !"

"I don't understand, If you love someone you are ready to go to any extent for him her..." argued Vidushi.

Sanyu smiled and said "That's in theory...don't forget we are human darling... under pressure, under difficult situations, under time of doubts it does not take long for us to forget all the happy moments, all the promises and do the stupidest thing ever... "

"Think about it that way, you have expectations from life...then you marry someone... but after a while you see that you are not getting what you expected... the life you are living is not what you thought it would be...you are not fully satisfied with the situation you are in... first you'll act like a responsible adult and you do compromises...but even after those efforts, you are still not getting what you expected...so how many time do you think you will last before exploding and saying f**k it all, am done ? " she explained, expressing her concerns.

"Do you understand ?"

"I think I see your point... " told Vidushi

"See this is why divorce rate is so high, people have their own expectations from life... while committing to another person they does not really discuss about it, all they see is their love and their bright future...the question is does your partner have the same definition of the word bright as you ?..."

"This is precisely where fights start..." she sadly added.

"Yeah you have a point..."

"I know some couple work really fine and am not saying love is pointless on the contrary it is the thing that gives you courage to keep going... but at the end of the day if you do not get the happiness, the satisfaction you expected in return, you'll probably give up at some point...this is the main point."

"So the real question is : to which extent am I ready to go to make this relationship work ? Can I compromise with some of my expectations ?..."

"And not to forget Tara... what about her ?" she added.

"See am stuck here at the moment, and I don't really know what to do think of it all... " she said tired.

Vidushi only look at her and said "I kind of understand your point... I can't give you any advice as you may have noticed am not really an expert when it comes to relationships" she chuckled."... but I hope whatever decision you take, it will give you the satisfaction you need."
