"Oh hey, I was just wondering where you guys were. Come on, take a seat" Beomgyu says and waves his hand around the empty seat at the table before going back to eating a large piece of tonkatsu.
"Oh by the way this is Yuri" Beomgyu gestures toward me and I try my best not to flip the table and run away.
I needed to get out of here.
I don't know how he knew Beomgyu and the others sitting here with me and I didn't care.
I just had to leave before I created another scene with him.
"Yuri?" another familiar voice calls out and that instantly makes my head snap in their direction.
My brain was not ready to take in the view in front of me.
Shit.
For God's sake.
Shit.
This cannot be happening to me.
I have never wished for an earthquake or a natural calamity to occur this bad.
If only the earth could crack open and swallow me whole.
In front of me stood not one, not two, but three men clad in the tell-tale maroon leather jackets.
All three gave off a menacing aura and I hadn't even looked up at their face. My eyes were still glued to their chest.
I didn't want to look up.
I didn't have to strain my neck to look up at their faces.
Given my luck, I knew exactly who they were."What are you doing here?" I hear the voice again, maybe even colder than before and I do everything not to cower in front of him right now.
Yuri, keep your head calm.
You can face him.
He is just another Human being right?
No! He most certainly is not!
He is the son of the President of the Choi Group, the same company that owns this school, and the same family whose grant is allowing you to attend this school.
Do not mess it up.
Do not fuck it up.
Well, any more than I already have.
I finally trail my eyes slowly up from the three chests and to their faces.
The first one I notice is Soobin's. He is standing in the middle, a few steps ahead of the rest, and staring at me with an almost neutral expression.
Soobin looks the most proper out of them, with his neat uniform and well-set hair, and kind eyes.
He passes me a smile when our eyes meet, a similar smile to that of a parent telling their child it is okay, don't be scared.
Is my fear that visible on my face?
Even with everything going on in my mind and how my thoughts are racing, I manage to pass him a smile back, on autopilot.
The person to Soobin's left is Taehyun.
He has that air of carelessness that he carries making him look like he's bored with everything around him. His hair is slightly wet and tangled, pushed back from his forehead and he is not wearing the uniform.
Instead, he is wearing a white jersey and maroon shorts paired with the maroon leather jacket.
I dare anyone to wear this combination and pull it off like he's doing right now but that's not the point here.
The point is, he is scowling at me.
Well, I wouldn't say he is scowling at me but his expression is very condescending as if he considers me an ape who decided to join his superior civilization.
His stare makes me uncomfortable and I shift in my seat.
Finally, unwillingly I pull my gaze to the person whose voice made shivers crawl up my skin â Yeonjun.
He was already looking at me.
His eyes were laser-focused on me and when I say if looks could kill, I'd be six feet under right now, I am not exaggerating.
His eyes were shooting daggers at me and burning me alive at the same time.
I did not want to be here.
Why did I keep running into him?
Hell!
Why did I keep running into men in leather jackets!
Wait a minute.
I snap my head at Beomgyu sitting beside me and then to Huening.
If these three wear leather jackets and these two know them, then what are the chances of these two also wearing leather jackets?
My eyes widen in realization as I stare at the two men seated at the table.
Huening has a cool demeanor and I can almost see the wheels churning in Beomgyu's head.
He is up to something.
I feel everyone at this table staring at me and then some.
I need to think of something to help me get out of this situation.
"First everyone sit down and then we can all chat" Beomgyu waves his hand in dismissal and the other's eyes shift from me.
Everyone but Yeonjun's.
Because of his stare, I don't see everyone filling up the chairs.
"Yeonjun do you plan to stand and eat your lunch?" Beomgyu asks in a very sweet manner. I turn away from Yeonjun finally to look at Beomgyu.
His eyes are filled with mischief.
I look around the table to see only 2 seats vacant.
One beside Soobin, who is seated directly opposite to me
And, as if the Universe willed it, the other vacant seat was right next to me
"Oh this is going to be interesting" Beomgyu muttered just loudly enough for me to hear.
For crying out Loud!
It was as if everyone at the table were holding their breath to see who Yeonjun sits beside.
He must have told them about me already.
Maybe this is all an elaborate plan to get back at me. I am sure Yeonjun is spiteful enough to do that.
I should probably just get going. I try to get up from my seat but Beomgyu wraps his arm around my shoulder keeping me in place.
He has a bright smile on his face.
"Finish your food. There's plenty of time" He is up to no good.
I look back at Yeonjun, still cemented to his place, standing there with hard eyes.
Please sit next to Soobin.
Please sit next to Soobin.
Please sit next to Soobin.
I don't realize I had closed my eyes and crossed my fingers because I shoot them open when I hear the creak of the chair beside me.
Shit.
An ominous silence falls over the table, the only sound being the light clanking of cutlery against the tray.
"What's with the change of place? What about the main table?" Taehyun is the first one to ask as he bit into his food.
Even though I stand by my statement of calling him a smart-ass, I am thankful to him for breaking the ice.
"We are the main table," Huening said, his eyes staring at me directly.
There was no arrogance in his voice but was more as a matter of fact.
I make the mistake of looking around the room. I feel their eyes more so than see them openly staring at me.
San's words ring in my ear once again.
I feel my stomach drop and lose my appetite.
What have I gotten myself into?
