Lizzie was unconditionally happy as she packed for the trip. Josie seemed nervous and honestly so should she probably but the date went so well, she was so happy to have Rae as her girlfriend and everything. She just smiled widely as she finished packing.
"Your way too happy for a mission that could be deadly," Josie pointed out.
Lizzie shrugged still smiling, "I guess I'm just too happy to care."
Josie just sent her sister a supportive smile although she was still upset about Penelope Park.
The girls grabbed their bags and headed down meeting with the rest of the group. As Hope led them outside they ran right into a literal army.
Rae sat in her room at her desk, reading her dad's journals, he kept so many journals it wasn't funny. This one talked about magic; witches to be specific. Rae found her father to be crazy but recently with Lizzie she has noticed some strange occurances.
The lights flickering at random at night at the grill, that glass that broke at the empty table out of nowhere, and at the pageant when Hope Mikaelson was named Miss Mystic Falls she could swear the room was shaking like an earth quake or something... But it stopped when Lizzie comforted Hope.
As she read what he wrote about Witches it just connected dots. She closed the book and went on her laptop. She searched for animal attacks.
Then animal attacks in Virginia.
God, there were so many.
Vampires.
Her father's explanation on Vampires were talking about how they drain people of their blood and when police do find the bodies, they call them 'animal attacks'.
Rae just closed the laptop. Her father is crazy. She is not. None of what he says is true... It can't be.
Lizzie ran down the hall hiding, she took a shaky deep breath, she can do this... Remember what Hope said...
Hope is dead.
Shot by that fucking asshole!
She felt tears run down her face as she tried to breathe, she said to get the ascendant, and siphon from it and then the spell...
Lizzie got to her father's office, she went through everything and finally, she found what Hope described.
This is a horrible idea.
She suddenly heard people start to bang on her father's office door! The soldiers! Her eyes widened in fear, she pulled out her phone calling Rae's number.
Rae sat at her desk trying to ignore the possibility of her father being right...
That was when her phone rang.
Rae glanced over as she picked it up; the word
LIZZIE
Sprawled on it, she smiled as she answered, "hello?"
"Rae?"
Immediately her voice made her realize something was wrong.
"Lizzie, what's wrong?" Rae asked concerned.
Lizzie choked back a sob, "I just wanted to talk to you, just one more time..."
"What are you talking about?"
"I might die today," Lizzie admitted, "I just wanted to say that I love you and you were the best thing that ever came into my life."
"What?" Rae jumped up, she felt fear run through her, "Lizzie- where are you? I'll call 911! You'll be okay!"
"No, its too late," Lizzie said her voice strained.
That was when over the phone she heard shouting and banging!
"Lizzie what the hell is that?!"
Lizzie ignored the people trying to bust in.
"I'm going to save everyone, Rae, the cost will be great, but I don't have another choice," Lizzie said not answering her question, she grabbed the Ascendant, "I'm going to use the Ascendant, I'm going to get into the Prison World that Kai Parker is locked into," Lizzie explained carefully.
Rae was so confused, "what the hell are you talking about?!"
"Just check your dad's journals, I bet he knows about my Uncle," Lizzie said, "I love you, Rae."
"Lizzie-"
Suddenly the call ended.
Lizzie hung up the phone, she was crying as she siphoned from the Ascendant and then did the spell that Hope told her to do...
She half didn't think it'd work but then the entire area around her shifted and she was suddenly in the middle of Mystic Falls at night.
Lizzie looked around, she had to find him. He was strong enough to kill the Triad people. She came to the Grill first, her eyes went straight to the booth but she ignored it.
"KAI PARKER!"
Lizzie knew of Kai Parker, when she was four he tried to kill her and Josie, her dad and mom told them more about him as they got older.
The fact that he, a complete pyscopath, was their last resort was terrifying and that she was the last person; someone he wanted dead, to have the power to get him.
It honestly scared her.
She was scared.
But in her mind, she thought of what her peace could be... She was restless, broken, alone, selfish until she met Rae Fell and now she has someone to fight for. Peace.
So the entire time, she found him, made a deal. It didn't take long for him to realize who she was but he knew she was his only way out so he compromised luckily.
Lizzie held the Ascendant doing the spell as his dark eyes stared at her. She felt like the devil was watching her.
"You are just like me aren't you," Kai accused.
Lizzie looked at him when he said this but didn't say anything.
"I can feel it, that darkness, the urge to hurt people that you are trying to push away, you'll give in," Kai told her.
Lizzie clenched his teeth as her grasp on the ascendant tightened.
"It is just a matter of time-"
"Shut up!"
Lizzie snapped, "I am not like you!"
"Are you scared of the merge?" Kai asked as she glared at him, "you are stronger than your twin because of that darkness. I bet some of your fellow witches will want to make sure you don't even get the chance to beat her-"
"Stop it!" Lizzie screamed as some stuff around them flew, "do you want me to do the spell or not?"
"Actually," Kai put up a finger, "I have a solution, a present from your Uncle Kai that'll help you keep your sister without any stupid merge."
"What are you talking about?" Lizzie asked.
Kai suddenly grabbed her too fast for her to dodge since he was a vampire too, he bit his wrist and suddenly forced it to her mouth, "drink, drink or I'll smash that ascendant and you and I will be stuck here forever while everyone you love; dies."
Lizzie felt tears fall as couldn't help but drink his blood.
Alaric came home he was too late or that's what he thought. Josie ran into his arms and he almost cried when he saw she was okay and so was most of the kids!
"Thank god, thank god," he kissed her head, "wait, where is Lizzie?"
"Yoohoo," Alaric's eyes widened seeing someone he never wanted to see again; Kai Parker holding Lizzie by the neck, "your welcome, I saved all your kids, well most of them."
Alaric looked at Josie, "this is how you did it?! You let him out!?"
"We had no choice!" Josie said.
"You have to understand I can't let these twins merge and take me out. I just can't allow that," Kai told him smirking.
"Kai, please, I beg of you," Alaric begged making Kai cock his head to the side, "I'll do anything, we are trying to figure it out, we will find a loophole!"
Kai just grinned widely, "I already did."
Suddenly he snapped Lizzie's neck!
