"Well, you do look like you've never done laundry before. For instance, your white dress shirts should never go with your reds, and you use a cup and a half of soap. If you think it's too much, it's not. You can add beads for a plus to make it smell good," I see Evan chuckling.

"I usually have a maid do laundry for me. Since I've moved, I've become more independent and started doing laundry for myself. I'm starting to realize, I've never done laundry before," I laugh.

"Awe, poor baby. You must have had such a hard time from being a spoiled rich boy," I hear him laugh as I help him sort his clothes.

"How do you know I'm rich?"

"It's obvious. You have rich boy written all over you. Look at the way you dress. These clothes each must have cost fifty dollars each. Plus, you rented the penthouse across from me," I hear him chuckling.

"That's a fair point. What do you mean by the way I dress? What's wrong with it?"

"You have rich boy written all over you. It's like you're dying to get girls attention saying look at me, look at me. I'm rich. I get all the girl's attention and get everyone thrown at my feet of bidding," I smile and hear him chuckle.

"Well, I like the way I dress. Besides, it got your attention," I see him wink at me, and I roll my eyes.

"Oh, touche. You've got me there. I'm dying to throw myself at you," I laugh, and Evan smiles. I help him separate the last piece of his clothes.

I see him load his laundry, and I load more laundry into my washer next to his. I sit on the washer to hold it still. He sits next to the washer he was using next to me.

"Woah, I haven't been this close to you since I bumped into you," I hear Evan laugh.

"You sure did make an introduction by squeezing my arm," I could feel myself blushing thinking about his muscles.

"Well, I had to test out the water. I had to make sure it was okay," I hear Evan laughing.

"Oh, I see," I smile and look at my watch.

"Oh, I think I forgot to eat lunch today. Do you wanna have lunch with me?" I see Evan smile.

"That sounds amazing."

"So, what sounds good to eat?"

"I can order takeout for the both of us-"

"You would? That would be amazing! I have tips from today that I could help pay with."

"Nonsense, this is all on me. Maybe next time you'll get it," I chuckle.

"I have to pay you back and get it next time."

"No, you don't have to. Call this my treat," I roll my eyes.

"If you say so, Rich Boy," I see him smile. I bump into his side playfully.

"Did you bump into me?"

"Me? Never. It was the washer's fault," I smile.

I feel him slide his hand on my hand, and I fake gasp.

"Did you put your hand on mine?" I see him smile.

"Me? Never. It was the washer's fault," I roll my eyes.

"You're cute when you roll your eyes," I start to blush, and the dryer beeps done.

"Well, I better switch them," I quickly grab the clothes.

The moment replays in my mind, and all I can think is, Charlotte's going to kill me. I unload the clothes. I hear Evan's washer beep. We both finished the laundry.

I try lifting the basket, and the sack of laundry, but my ankle almost gave out, so I drop the sack.

"Here, let me help you," I see Evan pick up the laundry sack with no mercy.

Damn, his muscles be looking good carrying all the sacks. I have to catch myself from biting my lip at admiring him. I see him smile, knowing I'm marveling at him. Shit. I clear my throat.

"That's very sweet of you to carry my sack."

"Anytime you need me to carry anything, just ask me. I'll carry it for you," I see Evan wink at me, and I can feel myself blush. He helps carry my sack to my apartment.

"You can come in and set it down."

I hobble into my apartment, and he follows, setting all the clothes down.

"We can put our clothes up while we wait for the food. Come back in whenever you are done."

"Okay, I won't be too long," I see him wink at me and leave.

"Damn Charlotte claiming him. That man is fine as hell. Don't have coffee with him. I like him. We would make cute babies too," I continue mocking Charlotte and complaining as I put up my and Charlotte's laundry.

I get done with laundry and complaining. I go out of the room and see Evan with the food.

"Oh good, the food is here," I see Evan setting the food on the coffee table as I hobble to the couch.

"I ordered extra napkins. I didn't know if we needed it," I think back. Why would Evan order extra napkins? It hits me.

The last time he saw me eat, I was trying to look unattractive for Charlotte. He probably thinks I eat like that all the time. I start laughing.

"Sorry, you probably think I eat like a slob. I was eating like that for girl code," I hear him chuckle.

"Girl code?"

"Yes. VERY, important things girls do for other girls that I cannot explain to you, or I will give ourselves away," I hear him chuckle, and I smile as I grab a container of food.

"Oh no, I just realized. I just let a stranger in my house twice! Not to mention, you've seen my ass and probably my boobs too. Then again, my work does that daily. My Dad would have slapped me," I laugh as he chuckles.

"Where is your Dad?" I can feel my smile wiping away at the thought of him.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to bring up such a touchy subject."

"It's okay, he comes up now and then. He's bound to come up sometime, but I guess I never really talked about it.

"Can I ask what happened?"

"He was murdered. They haven't found the killer," I look down at my food, trying not to cry at the memories.

"That's terrible. I'm sorry for your loss," I look at Evan and smile.

"It's okay. I still talk to him, every morning and watch the sunrise with him. A bit of me feels like he's still with me, watching over everything I do."

"What about your mother?" I hear him say nervously.

"I never really had a moment with her. She left when I was five, and we never saw her again. Now, I only have pictures with her."

"What about your parents?" I see Evan look at me confused.

"What about my parents?"

"You know what are they like? Are they dead or alive? Are they rich like you?" I chuckle.

"To answer your question, yes. My parents are both still alive and rich like me. My father owns a company. He passed it down to me a couple of years ago."

"Must be nice growing up rich," I see him smile.

"It would have been if my parents didn't pressure me so much to build me into a strong character."

"Well, I think it worked perfectly," I smile, and he smiles back.

"So, what happened to your ankle?"

"Oh, that thing. It went to war with a pole and never came back the same," I see him looking at me with a concerned face.

"I'm kidding. I was practicing dance, and someone booby-trapped the pole, so now I have the dirty brace to wear."

"Have you gone to the doctor's?"

"Hell, no. That's going to be one expensive bill, and I don't want to deal with that much stress in paying it."

"What's your favorite color?" I say to get the topic on something else.

"Blue. What's yours?"

"Mine is red," I say with a chuckle.

"Oh, before I forget, I have to pack today."

"Pack? Where are you going?"

"Me and Charlotte are going to see my sister in Toronto. Our plane takes off at 10 p.m. Friday, and we won't be back until next Friday. I have to pack it today so I can rest tomorrow."

"Oh, okay. Well, hopefully, you will have fun," I look at my watch.

"Oh shoot. I have to get to Julie," I see him look confused.

"Julie?"

"Yeah. Julie lives next to me. She's like a grandmother to me. She invited me to dinner tonight. Do you wanna come with?"

"Sure, I've got nothing else planned."

"Okay, she'll love you. Let me change into different clothes and put the leftovers up. She'll tear another, if I'm not dressed for the day," We both chuckle.

"I can put the leftovers away while you get dressed," I smile at him.

"Would you? That would be so perfect. The containers are in the cabinet, or you can just put them up as it is. It'll be fine."

I go to my room and dress in a yellow sunflower dress. I then decently comb my hair. I slip on a pair of shoes with blue socks.

"All right, I'm ready. How do I look?" I see Evan look at me.

"You look beautiful."

"Thanks, but flattery doesn't get into these shoes. All right, let's go," I see him smile, and I roll my eyes.

Evan and I go out the door, and I knock on the door next to mine.

"I hope you're ready to eat again because you're going to have food that tastes so good, you'll question what you've been eating all your life."

"We're going to eat again?" I give Evan a confused look.

"Of course, we're going to eat. If you think you got full, you haven't learned the meaning of being stuffed.

I see the door open and Julie smiling.

"Hello, babycakes. Who do we have here?" I see her smile, looking at Evan.

"Julie, this is Evan. Evan, this is Julie. He'll be joining us for dinner. If that's okay with you?"

"Of course it's okay with me, come on in. The more, the merrier. The food isn't finished, yet. It won't be out until an hour or two, so come in and relax."

The smell of spices and food wafts me in the face as I walk in. I see Evan following me cautiously into the living room to sit on the couch. I see Julie hand us both a cup of tea.

"So, Evangeline, is this your boyfriend?" I nearly choke on my tea. I see Evan look at me.

"Oh, no. We aren't dating. We're just friends," I see her look up at me and Evan, up and down.

"Are you sure? I see how he looks at you and how you look at him," I roll my eyes.

"Yes, I'm sure. We're just friends," I see Julie looking at me with an mhm look.

"Well, you two would make some cute babies, too."

"Julie!" I see Evan smile.

"What? You know I'm right," I roll my eyes.

I see her startle.

"My word, child! What happened to your ankle?" I see Evan's eyes go wide as he sees it.

"Nothing happened. I just fell while practicing, and my ankle hit a bar," I look at my tea, knowing what's coming next.

"You need to go to the doctor."

"The doctors-"

"No buts. No coconuts. Now, go to the doctor," I hear her say, interrupting me.

"Now?" I try to use my puppy eyes.

"Yes, now. Go or no dinner."

"Fine, I'll go," I grab my bag.

"Evan, you go with her. Make sure she goes and doesn't cuss out a doctor."

"Yes, ma'am."

I grab my bag and head to the elevator, and Evan follows me.
