Chapter 77: Always Will

A Warehouse Full of Memories || BTS x ReaderWords: 27262

Kim Taehyung

Any second now. You took in a deep breath to try and calm your nerves. Today is a big day and no one can fight you on that. Not that anyone would. Who would fight the bride on her wedding day? You would be able to take them down anyway. You've only been in one physical fight in your entire life and you won that. To be honest, it still leaves you feeling pretty proud of yourself. She was crazy to begin with seeing as you're standing here in a white dress about to marry Kim Taehyung and not her precious Jungkook oppa. You were innocent the entire time and you refuse to let anyone tell you different. Though right now really wasn't the time for you to be getting heated over things that happened years ago back in high school.

The only reason memories like that were flooding back into your head was because of a special guest Taehyung managed to get at the wedding. He invited him through email, text, call, mail, and everything he could literally think of. You were a bit worried when Taehyung told you he knew his address. You had a feeling Taehyung would personally knock on his door and beg him to come to the wedding. It worked though. After persistently asking and not leaving him alone, Mr. Pyo was at your wedding. The boys couldn't stop staring at the man in awe. The man was now in his late fifties with his hair finally turning grey. Taehyung expected it to turn grey faster or fall out with how much he pestered the man in the past back in high school.

Even when Taehyung stopped having Mr. Pyo as a first year, he made sure to visit the man. He would constantly try to remind Mr. Pyo that he existed. It didn't matter to Taehyung if he got strange looks from others when he called Mr. Pyo 'Appa'. It felt true to him. Mr. Pyo just took it as an annoying joke that Taehyung was taking too far. It wasn't until graduation day that a lot came out. Not only did Jungkook expose Taehyung and you as a couple to the entire graduating class, but Mr. Pyo put his foot down and told Taehyung to stop calling him 'Appa'. Taehyung became quiet as he told Mr. Pyo that he was the only older male figure he liked in his life. Mr. Pyo eventually told Taehyung to do as he pleased and left.

Taehyung maintained a close relationship with his math teacher. It was a lot more Taehyung bothering Mr. Pyo still. While you were in college learning elementary school education, Taehyung was at the center with young kids himself. Except when he had free time, he would call Mr. Pyo. He kept tabs on the aging man just so he could invite him to your wedding without any conflicts. So here Mr. Pyo was as he stood next to you. He didn't think he would be right by your side at the moment, but it just sort of turned out that way. Your parents unfortunately couldn't come to your wedding. They were supposed to but Dad needed his gallbladder out so now Mom was looking after him at the hospital before they discharge him.

"Is it really okay for me to be doing this?" Mr. Pyo sighed heavily. He stood in a suit that was all black. Not a single color that matched with your wedding's theme was on him, but he was the only one who could do the job. Taehyung asked him, of course.

"There's no one else who can do it," You answered with a smile. Mr. Pyo pursed his lips as he watched you giggle. You were bright and cheerful. How could you not be? You were getting married today! You were standing in a white dress that made you feel like a beautiful princess. Five year old you would probably faint with how you look. It felt like a dream. Holding your bouquet tightly, you glanced at the wedding planner who was making sure everything was running smoothly. The rest of the boys had already gone down the aisle, meeting Taehyung at the far end with the officiator.

"Are you sure you want to marry him?" Mr. Pyo then asked as you gave him a quick glare.

"What kind of question is that?" You pouted. "We literally confessed to each other in your classroom! MET in your classroom! It's fate, Mr. Pyo, and the fact that you're going to be giving me away to Taehyung at my own wedding makes a lot of sense. Don't you think so?" You batted your eyes at the older man who didn't seem to be moved by any of your words. Another sigh left him as he stayed silent. He stuck out his elbow which basically meant that he was agreeing to what you were saying. Yay! Giggling, you wrapped your arm around his as the wedding planner nodded her head.

You couldn't stop smiling as you walked down the aisle. Taehyung was the first person you met eyes with. He looked so handsome in his suit, staring at you lovingly as Mr. Pyo passed you over to him. It felt like you would have started crying. This was the moment you've always dreamed of and it meant a lot that you were marrying Taehyung. Your best friend. He was the first classmate that talked to you. He turned around in his seat to ask if you were new. Thinking about it now made your heart flutter. First year you didn't know that the boy talking to her would be her future husband. He was the one. Blinking away your tears, you smiled as Taehyung gave you his boxy grin.

It could have just been Taehyung and you alone in the room. You forgot about everyone else as you stared at him. The man had your entire heart. You could always trust him when it came to speaking about your worries and he returned to you with the same. Taehyung held your hand as he slipped a ring on your finger, repeating the words the officiator told him to. Soon it was your turn. Holding his larger hand, you repeated the words softly as you put the ring on. You were trying so hard not to cry. Not yet. Taehyung was holding himself well compared to Jimin who kept wiping his face. His best friends were getting married, how could he not cry tears of joy for them?

"You may kiss the bride."

Taehyung took a step closer to you, rubbing his hands on his pants. Were his hands sweaty? The two of you giggled before the rest of your guests laughed along. It wasn't until Hyosung unnie shouted for Taehyung to just kiss you that things got serious. Taehyung placed his hands on the side of your face, bringing your lips over to his. Your eyes fluttered shut, allowing yourself to completely melt under his touch. Cheers erupted from everyone with the kiss finally happening. The two of you were married. Taehyung slowly pulled away to notice you crying and you opened your own eyes to see him crying as well. You stared at him in complete surprise.

"Y-You're crying!" You pointed.

"You're crying too..." Taehyung's bottom lip was shaking.

"You babies!" Jungkook shouted from behind, immediately getting smacked by Seokjin.

"I love you, Taehyung." You brought your hands up to wipe his tears. The two of you ignored the teasing from Jungkook completely. After all, the two of you were in your own world. Taehyung wiped away your own tears before pecking your lips again.

"I love you too, (F/n). So much." He chuckled.

Maybe not every moment of the wedding went according to plan, but you loved it anyway. It was perfect in your book. You married Taehyung with your closest friends and family there. Everyone was basically partying until two in the morning. You were surprised that you hadn't passed out, but you still had energy. All the boys did except for Yoongi. He eventually fell asleep in the back of Seokjin's truck. Still, everyone else was living it up with the newlyweds. Mr. Pyo even danced with Taehyung and you for a little before he muttered that his knees weren't so great. Taehyung almost cried, hating how Mr. Pyo was aging. That was close to starting another scene but Hoseok and Namjoon helped distract the boy while Seokjin escorted the older man to a free seat. Mom and Dad called you later on to hear all about it. They congratulated you, promising you that their present would arrive in the mail.

The married life was treating you well. Taehyung and you complimented each other well in the household. Responsibilities around the house were pretty equal. That was never a problem. The two of you hardly ever had disagreements either. It was smooth sailing for the both of you. One thing that you loved about Taehyung and you was that you both worked with children. He handled the ones at the center who needed to be watched. They didn't always have the best homes so Taehyung acted as their trustworthy male role model. That's what a lot of the kids needed. He was so patient, understanding, and loving towards them. He was so good with the young ones while Yoongi handled the teens a majority of the time.

Seeing Taehyung with young kids always made your heart melt. Mainly because you were trying to become an elementary school teacher yourself. At the moment, you were at the end of your student teaching. It wouldn't be long before you got a job as a teacher. You were extremely excited since the staff at the elementary school loved you and one of the teachers was retiring. Timing was working perfectly. And since Taehyung and you loved children so much, the two of you didn't really wear much protection when having sex. The two of you welcomed the idea of a baby coming whenever they wanted to appear. Though as a year passed of casually trying, Taehyung and you decided to change your approach.

This time the two of you would make sure the timing was perfect every time. It was important for the both of you to have sex anytime your ovulation cycle was occurring. It was making you anxious as the first few months passed of this new approach. You kept getting a single line. A negative. It's completely fine though! Taehyung and you are a young couple so it's alright. There's no rush. Though even when you tried to reassure yourself that way, you felt awful. How come you weren't getting pregnant? Was there something wrong with you? It was a thought that hurt you a lot, but you knew Taehyung was having the same fears about himself. It was his worst nightmare.

That's all Taehyung ever wanted. Kids. You wanted to give him that and you wanted some of your own too. Family was so incredibly important to him. It meant a lot to you. Wanting to make your own wasn't a crazy thought. It just felt like you were going crazy as time went on. How many more months of negatives do you have to see? You weren't so sure you could take much of it. It was getting to you. Walking into the pharmacy to buy pregnancy tests every month. The old woman behind the counter used to root for you and tell you to keep trying. Now she's silent by the one year mark, but you could see it in the look in her eyes. She pitied you. And it hurt more than you wanted it to.

"Don't cry," Taehyung whispered behind you. The two of you were laying in bed together. He must have been facing your back with how close his voice sounded. You were staring at the wall tiredly. You thought you were being silent. Looks like you got caught.

Taehyung scooted closer to you, wrapping his arms around your bare body. His skin felt hot against yours. The two of you tried again today. Today was the last day of your cycle before it would be the next month. You just hoped both of your efforts weren't all for nothing. You slowly began to sob harder as Taehyung held you tightly. You could feel his own tears on your shoulders. He trembled with you as the two of you desperately hoped that a baby would come to you both. Minutes passed with the two of you crying and holding onto each other. None of the other boys even knew that the both of you were trying for kids. You don't know if you ever wanted them to know with how things were going.

"You're crying too..." You whispered.

"I'm sorry..." Taehyung buried his face into your neck. You blinked slowly, confused as his words. Him crying wasn't a bad thing.

"What are you sorry for?" You question to feel his grip on you tighten. He didn't want to stay it, but eventually lifted his head up to take a deep breath.

"T-There has to be something wrong with me...I can't get you pregnant. I'm so sorry, (F/n)..." Taehyung's words felt like sharp stabs to your heart. You shook your head, shifting on the bed to face him. His eyes were red from how much he's been crying. Everything about this situation hurt you so much. His eyes were extremely puffy which you knew matched your own.

"Don't say that. It could be me...I could be the problem..." You caressed his face, using your thumbs to get rid of his tears. You didn't like seeing Taehyung cry. It pained you so much when he was usually such an optimistic and happy boy. He couldn't always be though. The two of you were going through something that wasn't easy in the slightest. "Taehyung, we should check with a doctor. Just to confirm if we really can't—"

"I don't want to." Taehyung shook his head, taking your hands off his face. He shut his eyes tightly as he took another deep breath. "I don't want to hear them say it's my fault."

"We don't know if that's even the case, Tae," You stated quietly. "And even if, I don't want you feeling guilty over something you don't have control over."

"Then you better not feel guilty either," Taehyung said. It took you by surprise at first, but you understood. You were beating yourself up probably just as much as Taehyung over this. The two of you were miserable anytime you came home. The room the two of you had free was still a guest room. No young giggles greeted any of your ears. Your stomach wasn't bloated with a baby. The house felt empty. It didn't feel like it belonged to a family. It was breaking the both of you down every day. "...I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, (F/n)..." He leaned down, pressing his forehead against your chest as he began to cry again.

"I-I'm sorry too, Taehyung." You wrapped your arms around him. If he cries then you're going to cry too. Shuddering as you sobbed with Taehyung, you hoped that everything would be okay. One year of casually trying and another year of trying seriously. Two years, but nothing. You don't think you can handle a third year of this.

Taehyung and you made the big step of going to the doctors to check out what was truly going on. Were the both of you infertile? Or was it just one of you? At this point, you just wanted answers on why the two of you were having so much trouble trying to conceive. Taehyung and you would adopt if the two of you couldn't do it naturally. That process was still one you weren't so sure about though. You've looked into it, trying to ignore the expensive price that Taehyung and you couldn't possibly afford. But there were roadblocks everywhere it felt like. The waitlist was long and adopting itself wasn't easy as most people made it out to be.

You were also feeling unsure of yourself. Was this a sign that Taehyung and you weren't meant to be parents? It was a twisted thing to think, but what if that was the case? What if the two of you weren't fit to raise a family? Taehyung didn't even want to think about that. He grew up with a big family and adored it. Aside from his father, he loved them all with everything he had. He wanted to add to that so much and you did to. That's why it was so hard to go through with the appointment. Taehyung and you did what was required of you so all that was left was to hear the results. Taehyung was at work so he left it up to you to find out. Mainly because you asked him to stay and help at the center. You'll hear it first yourself and tell him the results after work.

Sitting in the small room, you kept to yourself. You were left to wait in here by a nurse. As if waiting in the waiting room didn't take long enough. This was slowly getting to you. Maybe you shouldn't have been alone for this. Crossing your legs, you stared down at your lap for the longest time. It felt like you were trying to curl yourself into a small ball as you sat in the chair. You snapped out of it the moment the door opened. Your heart jumped as you looked up to see your doctor walking in. They held the results in their hands. Fidgeting with the handle of your purse, you noticed how they were smiling. Was that a good thing? Or was it sympathy?

"How are you doing, Mrs. Kim?" He smiled as he took a seat of his own. He shuffled the papers inside the manilla folder he held.

"Alright..." You weren't exactly sure how he wanted you to answer that. Depending on how this appointment goes, you might feel elated or crushed. He just continued to have that small smile on his face that was managing to make you anxious. "Can I know the results already?"

"Of course." He nodded as he looked up at you. "Everything is alright with you and your husband. The two of you are both able to conceive a child on your own. There are no issues with infertility. I understand things have taken a while, but that is normal. Some couples take over five years before they have their first child."

"F-Five?" You stuttered only for him to chuckle. What was so funny?

"Mrs. Kim, you won't have to wait that long." He shook his head at you. How could he be so sure? "From the previous blood test we did with you, I was able to find out that you are indeed pregnant. You're pregnant, Mrs. Kim."

It felt as if all the air had been knocked out of you. You came in here anxious to learn why Taehyung and you haven't been able to conceive. You were expecting some sort of answer. Closure. Instead you were hit with news that was better than anything you could have ever hoped for from this appointment. Tears were welling up in your eyes, your body reacting faster than how your mind was processing it. Taehyung should have come to this. He should have been next to you to hear it. Was this a dream? The doctor chuckled at your shocked expression.

"I-I am?"

"You are. Congratulations."

This was what you had been hoping for so long. The news was everything to lift your spirits up. Finally you were breathing easily. When you told the news to Taehyung after work, he was completely ecstatic like you thought he would be. He was so eager to have the baby already in his arms. He talked to your stomach that barely had a bump. Still, it felt magical to be going through this experience with him. This was everything the two of you ever wanted. Once you were over three months, you figured it was best to start telling everybody. Taehyung couldn't wait as he held you tight at the center with all the kids and your friends listening. The boys didn't know why they were called there until Taehyung announced you were pregnant.

The little kids didn't really understand, but the teens congratulated the two of you. Taehyung was going to be a father and you a mother! You couldn't believe it. Namjoon was stammering so much as he congratulated the both of you. Hoseok had to slap his back to make the man get it together. Seokjin felt bad for not having a present with him, but it was totally fine! Jungkook and Jimin were so stunned. Their reactions were hilarious. They immediately began fighting about who would be the better uncle to this kid. Lastly, Yoongi smiled proudly at the both of you. Taehyung and you have grown up a lot over the years. This was another step in the right direction.

Little did you know that you were pregnant with twins. That came as a major surprise. Taehyung and you were at an ultrasound when your doctor decided to casually mention that there were two heartbeats. Twins!? Taehyung was losing it. He was screaming and cheering in the office. It was a little embarrassing if you were being honest. Taehyung always called his little brothers twins even though they weren't. Gisu and Hojun had a small age gap, but now Taehyung truly had his own twins. Taehyung immediately called Yeona after that appointment to tell her. She was the first person he always reported to about your pregnancy. It was incredibly sweet. The second person though was Mr. Pyo.

He stayed an important person in both of your lives. Even if he would tell the two of you to just leave him alone. He was an aging man in his sixties now. It wouldn't be long before Mr. Pyo retired from SuChin which was still crazy to think about. The fact that Taehyung and you still kept in touch was crazy enough. The man insisted for Taehyung to just leave him be, but Taehyung couldn't get himself to do it. Not with Mr. Pyo being a divorced man with his two sons all grown up and away. They were too busy to spend time with Mr. Pyo as they focused on their own families and stayed closer to their mother. So of course Taehyung stayed glued to Mr. Pyo's side.

"Where do you want this chair, Appa?" Taehyung asked.

"I told you it's fine where it is." Mr. Pyo sighed. He could still be a bit of a grump, but Taehyung didn't care. He showed up to help Mr. Pyo whenever he could. You did your best too though since Mr. Pyo has grown to mean a lot to you guys. Mr. Pyo didn't want to admit it but the picture you guys took when Seokjin and Yoongi graduated with him was even framed in his living room.

"Halabeoji!" Hana ran over to Mr. Pyo. She jumped on the couch, crawling onto his lap as her attempt to escape you. This girl!

"I want to sit on Halabeoji's lap!!" Jinae whined behind you. She sounded ready to cry. The two girls were four years old now. Both very close to their grandfather.

"I have another leg." Mr. Pyo patted his left leg. Jinae stopped tearing up to hear that. She was like a puppy as she ran over to him excitedly. Mr. Pyo laughed as he had the two girls bouncing on his legs. Taehyung watched happily, leaning against the wall behind him. He stared at the entire scene fondly.

You were worried since the girls were running away from you at first. They weren't playing nice in the backyard so you were going to put them on time out. It only ended with them here like this. Crossing your arms, you shook your head softly at the girls. They better share next time. Still, you watched them giggle as they talked to their grandpa. Mr. Pyo didn't know how to feel about it at first, but Taehyung is a stubborn one. If Mr. Pyo is family then he's family. Besides, Mr. Pyo can complain all he wants that he doesn't want Taehyung's company but you know the truth. Anytime Taehyung calls to let him know he'll be coming over, Mr. Pyo sits out on his porch and waits for your husband. That says a lot since Mr. Pyo doesn't really like being outside for too long.

"Appa, what about your knees?" Taehyung asked only for Mr. Pyo to wave him off. He didn't want to hear Taehyung worrying over him for the millionth time. Taehyung grinned before looking over at you with his boxy smile. It's still adorable as the first time you saw it. "The girls will tire themselves out soon I guess."

"Their nap is in about an hour. It won't be long." You smiled back at him. Taehyung was quick to wrap his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close to his body.

Hana and Jinae busied themselves with Mr. Pyo as they slowly began to get tired. They were doing their best to stay up, but it wasn't working with their schedule. Eventually you had Hana in your arms and Taehyung carried Jinae. They were sound asleep, cute as they looked like the perfect balance of you and Taehyung. Lately Taehyung and you have been thinking about trying for another kid. He still wanted his big family and you didn't mind the idea of having a third. It was a conversation that even Mr. Pyo was made aware of. You suppose since you already have the twins, it wasn't too awful if you struggled to have another again. It would be tough, but you had thicker skin and you had the girls. That's all you could ask for.

"Are they sound asleep?" Taehyung asked. The two of you put the girls inside their booster seats. As quietly as you could, you closed the door. It was about time for all of you to head home anyway. While you got the girls ready in the car, Taehyung had stayed on the porch outside with Mr. Pyo. Now you were making your way up to the porch as you sighed softly.

"They're out like a light." You glanced back at the car that sat in the driveway. They were visible in their seats, sleeping heavily.

"Well, I guess we'll get going then, Appa." Taehyung turned to Mr. Pyo. All of his hair was grey now and no longer the jet black it used to be. It sometimes made Taehyung's heart ache. Especially when Mr. Pyo told Taehyung about possibly buying a cane in the future. You had to admit it did something to your heart too. Mr. Pyo only thought of it as natural, confused with how emotional Taehyung would get. "We'll see you soon again. How does tomorrow sound?"

"Is that even leaving then?" Mr. Pyo quipped. Taehyung grinned, giggling as he rushed to hug Mr. Pyo. "Hey, hey! Let me stand up first!"

"Right!" Taehyung took a step back. He was so impatient. You walked close as Mr. Pyo placed his hands on the handles of his chair. He made a little grunt before finally accepting your help to get him standing on his own two feet. Taehyung was staring at him with stars in his eyes, making Mr. Pyo scoff right away.

"I'm ready now—"

"I love you, Appa." Taehyung didn't let him finish as he hugged the man. He held him tight, snuggling into the math teacher. You smiled at how affectionate your husband could be. He always had so much love to give. Mr. Pyo blinked for a few seconds. His arms then wrapped around Taehyung, patting his back.

"I love you too, Son." Mr. Pyo smiled lightly. The hug lasted for a good while. It all ended the moment Taehyung tried planting a kiss on Mr. Pyo's cheek. At that point, the old man starting shooing the boy away. You laughed at the sight. Taehyung didn't take it personally though. He was like a dog, still loving his parent unconditionally. Taehyung made his way to the car to start it up as you wrapped your own arms around Mr. Pyo.

"Take care. Make sure to take your medicine for your blood pressure and—" You started to hear another heavy sigh from him. "What? What is it?"

"You two are something else." Mr. Pyo only chuckled, shaking his head as if the two of you were bothers.

"We care~." You sang as he nodded, looking away from you with his eyes on Taehyung instead. Your husband was in the car playing with the radio when Hana woke up. Taehyung panicked, currently trying to lull her back to sleep. "I'm so happy I met him in your classroom. Thank you."

"I had no control over that," Mr. Pyo remarked. He glanced at you, noting your big smile as you stared down at your feet. The old man nodded to himself. "I'm glad you're doing well, (F/n). And take care of Taehyung...don't let him know, but I do appreciate him. If it weren't for you two, I'd be a lonely old man."

"We'll never let you be an old man." You frowned at the thought as he chuckled. If Taehyung heard what Mr. Pyo was saying, there was no doubt in your mind that he would start sobbing. It'd leave him heartbroken and Mr. Pyo didn't want to deal with that.

"Just take care of Taehyung. He's a good one in this awful town." Mr. Pyo sighed. Taehyung may have been the boy who consistently interrupted class and grabbed his leg once, confessing he had 'daddy issues' yet that didn't stop Mr. Pyo from having a soft spot for the boy. SuChin was a tough high school, but he was glad he was able to be a good teacher and role model for at least one student. That made it all worth it. Mr. Pyo slowly took a seat again as you pulled your eyes away from Taehyung in the car.

You took a look at your wedding ring. "I will. I always will."
