Chapter 75: Great Addition

Kim Namjoon

Being pregnant wasn't necessarily easy, but you felt like you had a better understanding seeing as this was your third time. The first time you were pregnant with Eunkyung was a complete roller coaster. You were alert of literally everything around you as if even a plastic cup was your enemy. Looking back, you could see how ridiculous you were. At the time though, you believed you were just being cautious and caring for your first child. What you wanted was for the pregnancy to go smoothly which it did. The first time you gave birth was a struggle, but only about eight hours. It wasn't too bad. Ms. Kim was very proud of you after you gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Namjoon and you were ecstatic. Maybe a little too ecstatic.

Namjoon didn't really waste much time getting down to work seeing as your next baby was only a year apart from Eunkyung's. Everyone was shocked when you announced that you were pregnant again. There were a lot of cheers when you first told them about Eunkyung. They were happy for you including Yoongi who declared himself the second father. That bugged Namjoon, but you shrugged it off. When the news of Hakkun's pregnancy was out, they all had delayed reactions. In the end, they were all happy for you again. Except Yoongi was clicking his tongue, Seokjin told Namjoon to slow down, and Hoseok offered to buy the two of you condoms.

The teasing wasn't appreciated by Namjoon, but it was good for him to hear. Especially since giving birth to Hakkun was painful. Somehow that boy managed to be worse than your first. He took over twelve hours and he finally came out at one in the morning. You were sweating like a hog and he was crying nonstop. That birth didn't feel as pretty. Any excitement of having another kid was put on hold seeing as Hakkun required a lot of attention. Eunkyung wasn't even that difficult as a newborn. She has her moments when you felt stressed out, but Hakkun took it to another level. Namjoon sensed that as he did his best to help you and asked his mom to help out when she could.

Now Eunkyung was three and Hakkun is two. She's a cheerful girl who always has a smile on her face, wanting to share the joy with everybody. She's a smart girl too with a heart full of kindness. She's an actual gem. Though she did call every man she saw 'Appa' when she was younger. It was mainly Yoongi's doing that caused that to happen. It started with Eunkyung calling Yoongi that then Taehyung and slowly all the boys in the gang were apparently Eunkyung's father for a good year. She doesn't make that mistake anymore. It was embarrassing in the beginning. You're just glad that Namjoon didn't take it personally and all the boys politely corrected her every time. Aside from Yoongi.

Hakkun was a completely different case. He was his own bundle of joy and sweetness. He's a shy one who made you worry a lot in the beginning. It took him longer to speak than Eunkyung which made you question if he was having issues. It felt like his words were incredibly limited at first, but doctors told you that he was fine. Now you could see that he was just extremely shy. He becomes a chatter box when he's at home and depending on who is around. Of course, sometimes it's hard to understand what he's saying for everyone, but he's adorable. Now that Namjoon and you were feeling control over your lives again, the man got you pregnant once more.

This one will be your last. Your experience with Hakkun's pregnancy was a draining and exhausting one. As beautiful as pregnancy can be, you were done. Namjoon understood that and agreed that this third child would be the last one. Pregnancy with this little one has had its up and downs. You were currently in your eighth month since officially today. One more month to go through! You weren't huge as you thought you would be, but it was alright. That helped give you less back pains which Ms. Kim knew a lot about. The two of you were currently at her home while the kids played around in the living room floor together.

"Namjoonie gave me such a tough time!" Ms. Kim slapped her knee, sighing heavily. "Have I told you before?"

"Yes, you have." You giggled as she clicked her tongue.

"Well, I'm telling you again because it still makes me mad." Ms. Kim was ready to rant about her precious son. She loved him dearly and mainly did this to tease him. She's told you about her pregnancy many times, complaining but always telling you she would go through it again and again for him. "Him and his watermelon sized head! I was screaming so much because why does a baby need such a big head! But well...at least he's a smart boy. That explains it all."

"He's very intelligent." You nodded to see her smile.

"As you know though, I love Joonie more than anything. I'd like him to be my son in the next life too." Ms. Kim chuckled, bringing her hands around the cup of coffee she had. You could have melted from her words alone. She was so sweet, but you understood exactly what she meant.

Looking over to your kids, you had to admit that you felt the same. You wouldn't want anyone else to be your kids. They were perfect and beautiful. Eunkyung looked more like you while Hakkun took after his father. Staring warmly at your kids, you watched them play with each other. You weren't exactly sure what they were doing to be honest. It looked like Eunkyung had taken charge while Hakkun simply went along with it. He could never really tell his older sister what to do. The both were playing with dolls though it seemed like the dolls were on a mission to capture a mummy or something like that. It sounded fun.

Ms. Kim was watching over your kids today for you. It wouldn't be long before Namjoon comes over here to pick you up. All he's going to do is take you to the center because you insisted that you needed to be there one last time. He already wanted you to accept that you were on your maternity leave. It was a little hard since you missed so many faces. Not just your coworkers, but all the other kids that you cared for. They all called you 'Eomma' and Namjoon would tell you that so many would ask how you were doing. It made your heart ache. You wanted to go see them! After begging nonstop and threatening to drive yourself, Namjoon finally gave in. Yay!

Namjoon wasn't happy to hear that your strong persistence was motivated by his own mother. At the same time, he couldn't be surprised. He was used to his mom by now. He was just glad the two of you could get along so well. Most people usually complain about their mother in law's and judging by all the mothers of your male friend's, you could see how that would be a struggle with them. Though some of them didn't even have their moms anymore. Specifically your two coworkers. You've been wanting to see them for some time now. Just to make sure they haven't been giving Namjoon any trouble. You know how they can get when you're not there.

It was at that moment that there was a knock on the door. Lifting your head up like an excited dog, Ms. Kim laughed at your reaction. She patted your back as she got up to go open the door. The kids stopped playing to let their eyes follow their grandmother. Ms. Kim opened the door to reveal her son standing there. He looked handsome as always. His dimples were deep in his cheeks as he greeted his mother. Namjoon was about to step in, but his mom wasn't going to make that an easy task for him. You muffled a giggle as the kids squealed at the sight.

"What kind of son doesn't give his Eomma a kiss?" Ms. Kim huffed, grabbing Namjoon by the sides of his face. She pulled the tall boy down just so she could kiss him all over his face. Namjoon sighed, his entire face red.

"Eomma, seriously?"

"What does that mean?" Ms. Kim raised a brow at him, pinching his cheeks.

"..." Namjoon couldn't find anything to say. He grumbled a lot, but eventually gave his mom the kiss on her cheek that she had been asking for. Ms. Kim was quick to get in a bright mood as she winked at you.

"Persistence is key."

"Got it!" You nodded.

"Don't coach her!" Namjoon sighed from frustration. It was too late. You had so many lessons under your belt that usually came in handy when talking to Namjoon. Who better to discuss Namjoon than with his mother? The two had an extremely tight bond even if Namjoon got shy with his affection towards her.

By now the kids were running their little legs over to their father. Eunkyung was the faster one to arrive to him. She clung onto Namjoon's leg, happy to see him as Hakkun bounced his way over. The two made you feel so warm with happiness. Namjoon felt the same way as he stared down at his kids. Placing your chin on your open palm, you watched the little scene in front of you with loving eyes. Namjoon crouched down to talk to the kids. He was so tall so it was nice seeing him get down to their level when talking to them. He had his hands on both of their heads as he gave them cheek kisses. The kids squealed, immediately hugging Namjoon and giving him cheek kisses of their own. They didn't want to let him go.

"Alright kids, remember when we said your parents had business to go to?" Ms. Kim called out to them. They snuggled in Namjoon further, the male chuckling at them. "While they go do what they need to do, we're going to bake!"

"Bake?" Namjoon raised a brow as the kids gasped. They got off him with their attention now drifting over at the mention of sweets. You stood up from the table, walking over to Namjoon as his mom nodded.

"Just plain cookies. Not too much sugar." Ms. Kim shrugged. "It's more me doing the work and them just eating."

"They'll help when they get older," You said as Ms. Kim pointed her finger at you, holding you to your promise. You pointed your finger at her in return as Namjoon placed his hand on your back. He gently brought you towards the door as he looked back at his mom.

"We'll be back later, Eomma."

"I know the deal! Go on!" Ms. Kim motioned her hands for the two of you to just go off already. You were already waddling your way over to Namjoon's car. This was something you've been waiting for!

Namjoon smiled as he closed the door, unlocking his car for the two of you to get inside. There was no wasting time for you. It's going to be so nice to see them all again! Namjoon drove over to the center as you planned out your day inside your head. It's not like you can do any work. The moment you do, Namjoon is sending you straight home. That was the rule he came up with and that wouldn't be too hard to ignore. The main thing you wanted to do was see your other kids and friends after all. Namjoon can worry about the financial stuff for you. That's nothing for you to worry about until you get back from maternity leave after your baby is born.

During the entire drive to the center, Namjoon kept one hand on yours. He rubbed his thumb over your knuckles. He occasionally bumped into your wedding ring by accident. You smiled, eventually grabbing his hand and bringing it up to your lips. You love this man with your entire heart. Namjoon parked the car before looking over at you. He smiled to see you holding his hand. There was a light blush across his cheeks as you kissed his knuckles. Namjoon then pulled your hand over to kiss your knuckles in return, getting a giggle out of you.

"Are you ready for how hectic it gets at the center?" Namjoon asked.

"I work there and know exactly how crazy it gets." You sighed. "Besides, it'll never match how wild you and the bullet boys could get." Your little tease made Namjoon's lips twitch. The smile wasn't as strong as he let go of your hand.

"We were never called that and hearing you say that just makes me want to throw Taehyung off a bridge." Namjoon shifted in his seat, looking out the window. You were quick to burst out laughing from his behavior.

"So much for raising the boy." You opened the car door. Namjoon's brows jumped to see you leaving. He hurriedly got out to meet you by your side.

"I meant that jokingly and with all the love in the world," Namjoon clarified.

"How else would you throw someone off a bridge?" You grinned as he didn't say anything back. He was letting you have this one.

Just as the two of you entered, you were greeted with so many familiar faces. It was the best thing ever. Namjoon smiled as he watched you go off to the young children. They were currently reviewing work with Taehyung, but that came to an instant halt the moment he laid eyes on you. An excited yell left Taehyung as he went to hug you. He was talking so fast that you didn't know what to say to him. He seemed to be amazed by the size of your stomach yet this wouldn't be the first time he saw you pregnant. You chuckled, enjoying your old friend's wild personality. He honestly hasn't changed all that much in all these years.

The news of you being back to visit quickly spread like wildfire throughout the center. The teens were waving hi to you and were staring at your belly. It was almost funny how in awe some of them were. It made you feel like an animal at the zoo. Just as you were talking to them, you felt someone tap your shoulder. You turned around to see Yoongi giving you that gummy smile of his. Right away, you just had to hug him. Your two favorite coworkers alongside with your husband. Slowly pulling away, it felt great to be back at the center.

"Aren't you supposed to be on maternity leave?" Yoongi questioned.

"I am, but that doesn't mean I can't just hang out here." You shrugged as Taehyung bounced next to you.

"One more month and then we get to meet the baby!!" Taehyung looked ready to do flips from how excited he was. You still had some patience in you, but you were thrilled to meet them as well.

"I can't believe Namjoon and you want to keep the gender a surprise." Yoongi sighed as he stared down at your belly. "The doctor could have just told me."

"Hyung, flirting with married women is bad." Taehyung eyed the male.

"I wasn't flirting." Yoongi stomped his foot, gritting his teeth at the boy. Taehyung yelped as he went to hide behind you. The pregnant lady. The only protection you could offer him was the fact that Yoongi wouldn't harm you. Luckily, Namjoon entered the conversation at this point once he saw the two picking a fight with one another. Intentionally or not. Namjoon sighed, seeing the two grow quiet while you continued to smile.

"Were you both fighting?" Namjoon crossed his arms.

"No," Yoongi said.

"Yoongi hyung only used intimidation!" Taehyung gave Namjoon a thumbs up. Yoongi poked the inside of his cheek with his tongue, glaring at the younger boy. If you and Namjoon weren't here, he'd probably strangle Taehyung. Namjoon pursed his lips as he looked over at Yoongi.

"Hyung—"

"I know, I know." Yoongi groaned, not wanting to hear a lecture. He tended to get a lot from Namjoon even though he was trying to make that stop. It was just a little hard when Taehyung playfully bugged his hyung a little too much. Sometimes you wondered if Taehyung wasn't acting as innocent as he played it off. Was he purposely trying to make Yoongi lose his patience?

Namjoon and you weren't exactly sure. The most you guys could do was just make sure that those two didn't get too carried away. Not that they would actually get into a full on fight. Those days were way behind Yoongi. Besides, Taehyung was never really much of a fighter. He mainly sulked and hoped everything would be okay. He was a pouty baby even though suddenly right now he's claiming that he was some sort of bad@ss. He does remember you were in the same grade as him, right? You saw none of that the entire time he was in the gang. Then again, Taehyung's story telling was never trustworthy to begin with.

You decided to listen to his nonsense seriously, but you could barely go past a minute. In whatever alternate universe Taehyung was living in, he remembered a time when he was all bulky muscle with tattoos and piercings. He claimed his biceps were bigger than his head back in the day and that he could get any b*tch he wanted. At that point, you had to smack the man and for good reason. No one could judge you. Namjoon and Yoongi agreed it was deserved while Taehyung whined. He should write stories with that imagination of his. Not make up lies!

By the end of your visit, you hugged practically everyone at the center. You felt like a celebrity there. Who knew you were that loved? You giggled, enjoying all of it as you waved and left the center. You even blew a kiss back at them. Yoongi chuckled at that as Taehyung gave you one back. Seokjin would probably be throwing a fit if he was here. The flying kisses would usually get ignored by you and Taehyung then Yoongi would flip him off. Namjoon was shaking his head regardless of who it was as the two of you got back into the car together. Today was a good day. You sighed happily as he drove over to his mom's place. The tired kids got in the car as all of you went home for the day.

Eunkyung and Hakkun didn't want to brush their teeth, but lazily did it. They didn't have that much energy to fight or throw any kind of fits. Changing them into their pajamas, Namjoon and you tucked them into their little beds. They fell asleep nice and sound. Bedtime wasn't too hard today which was nice. You were feeling exhausted today despite not doing much. Sitting down in your own bed, you sighed as Namjoon closed the door behind him. The two of you were ready for bed well. A good night of sleep sounded nice.

"Have fun at the center today?" Namjoon sat down next to you.

"What do you...think?" You yawned midsentence. It was clear that you were done for the day. Namjoon chuckled, placing a kiss on your cheek.

"You should get some rest. We both should." Namjoon started to put his legs under the covers. He helped you get comfortable, covering the two of you before turning off the lamp by his bedside. "Goodnight, Baby."

"Goodnight, Joonie."

It didn't take long for you to fall asleep. It felt like you had completely crashed. The sleep was nice until halfway through the night. It woke you up around midnight which was strange. A strong sense of discomfort was felt in your lower area. You felt sore and tender down there for some reason. As you shifted, you gasped to feel yourself wet. What was going on? Gritting your teeth, you sat up to notice how much you were sweating. Sitting up didn't help as you began to feel cramps and pains in your upper body.

"N-Namjoon..." You called out to him in fear. Namjoon was snoring softly into a pillow as you stretched over to turn on a lamp. It was too dark in the room to tell what exactly was going on. The minute the light turned on, you screamed at the sight. Namjoon jumped awake to see you crying when he noticed the large red stain on the bed sheets. You were bleeding. "Namjoon!"

"(F/n), I'm here. Sh*t." Namjoon got onto his feet as he quickly got his phone and keys. The two of you were in your pajamas, but that didn't matter. He called his mother to come over to check on the kids so they could have an adult. He was going to take you to the hospital.

You could barely hear Namjoon as you sobbed. You were a complete mess and it didn't help that your body kept cramping. What is going on? Why you? What did you do wrong? Namjoon was trying to soothe you as he carefully took you to his car. He couldn't care less if you bled on his seats. The two of you were worried for the baby. Namjoon was doing his best to remain calm while you kept crying. The giant bloody stain freaked you out so much. The idea of losing this child was too painful to process. Please be okay. You held your bump, pleading for the baby to be okay as Namjoon drove into the hospital parking lot. He parked it, getting out to help you.

Soon you were in a wheelchair getting wheeled into a room where they could do an ultrasound. Namjoon felt like he couldn't have a moment to catch his breath. He saw how much pain you were in, close to breaking down himself. You were just waiting to see what the doctors had to say as they checked your stomach. Your hands were so tight until you heard the heartbeat of your baby. Hearing it immediately left you relieved, but still a sobbing mess. Namjoon listened closely to the doctor as the nurse rushed out. The baby had to be born early. You furrowed your brows, confused until Namjoon went to your side.

"It's gonna be okay. Our baby is just premature, but they need to get out." Namjoon stroked your hair as he kissed your lips. "They're going to do an emergency c-section."

"T-They are?" Your eyes widened. "Namjoon, I'm scared."

"It's going to be okay." Namjoon grabbed your left hand, kissing your knuckles. You nodded at his words. You trusted him.

Namjoon watched as you were taken to a different room. So many people in one room were preparing for the emergency c-section. It left him nervous, but he was thinking on the bright side. Everything was going to be okay. Namjoon was forced to wait out in the hall which was killing him. If it was just a planned c-section then he would have been allowed in. He wished the two of you didn't have to wake up to such a frightening sight. He paced outside before giving in and texting Hoseok. He needed a friend he could talk to. He was vague as he sent a message but grew shocked to see Hoseok respond back. Immediately, Hoseok was calling Namjoon. The male cleared his throat before answering yet that did no good.

Hoseok was Namjoon's best friend for a reason. He knew when something was wrong with Namjoon. Nothing had to be said. Why else would Namjoon be texting him at this time too? Hoseok listened closely as Namjoon confessed everything that was happening. He was scared. Alone in the halls as he watched hospital staff rush into the room. His heart was racing. His wife and kid were in there. He wasn't sure how long he could take waiting. Hoseok heard enough as he got his own keys to drive over to the hospital. Namjoon couldn't be left alone.

Despite it feeling like an eternity, Namjoon soon heard footsteps running down the hall. Multiple. They were pounding the ground as they slowly started coming to a halt. Namjoon looked up from his seat, his eyes red from crying as he stared at all his friends. They were staring at him in shock and worry. Hoseok slowly walked over to Namjoon, bringing his friend into a tight embrace. The others were completely silent. Jungkook stayed close to Seokjin and Yoongi who were quietly worrying over Namjoon. Taehyung and Jimin held hands tightly, leaning against a wall as they waited with Namjoon.

"We're here for you, Namjoon," Hoseok said. "I hope you don't mind that I called the other guys."

"It's fine..." Namjoon took in a shaky breath.

"Hyung, it's gonna be okay," Jungkook spoke up, fiddling with his hands. He was still dressed in his own thin pajamas as he shivered in the cold hospital. "(F/n) is strong so I know your baby will be too."

"Thanks, Kook." Namjoon pulled away from Hoseok. He sniffled, bringing his arm up as he looked over at Jungkook. The doe eyed boy rushed to hug his hyung who needed it.

"How long have you been waiting?" Seokjin asked.

"Thirty minutes...I don't really know. Feels like it's been hours." Namjoon frowned.

No one said anything else. Namjoon looked completely out of it, but who could blame him? Their own stomachs were doing flips and it wasn't even their own child. It was you in there though. Your child with their beloved leader. They were all struggling to be patient when they saw the doors burst open. Namjoon stood up immediately as he saw staff going down a hall with a small baby. They were giving the baby air as they transported it away from the room. Namjoon tried chasing after, but Jungkook held him back. The doctor was coming up to Namjoon anyway. All the men turned to the doctor as Namjoon silently cried.

"It was successful. Your baby was born and your wife is alright." The doctor's words made Namjoon feel faint. Pressure was lifted off his shoulders, but not quite. "Your baby is one month premature though. He'll have to be in NICU for a couple weeks until he's able to properly breathe on his own."

"He...?" Namjoon swallowed hard. "T-Thank you." He bowed.

"You'll be able to see your wife in a while. They're stitching her at the moment. Eventually, you'll both be able to see your son in his incubator. He looked about five pounds but we'll confirm that all soon enough. Congratulations." The doctor bowed his head before walking back into the room.

Namjoon was still in a major state of shock. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. It was great news and terrifying at the same time. He has another son! A beautiful baby boy, but he can't breathe on his own? Around five pounds? That's so small. Namjoon's worry was evident on his face. The boys around him were quick to hug him. That pulled Namjoon out of it as he noticed a group hug was occurring around him.

"You're a father!" Taehyung cheered.

"He was already a father, Tae," Jimin said.

"Congratulations, Hyung!" Jungkook grinned. "I told you that they'd be fine!"

"Your boy is going to grow strong and smart." Seokjin nodded. "I just know it."

"You better name your son after me." Hoseok joked, getting a chuckle out of Namjoon. He needed that.

"I wonder how (F/n) is holding up..." Yoongi muttered. The boys became quiet at Yoongi's words. Jungkook stomped on his hyung's foot, ignoring the string of swears that left him. Jimin and Taehyung gave Yoongi gentle glares that were telling him to know his place. He was overstepping his boundaries again. Namjoon saw the way the others were handling it for him and sighed. His eyes slowly met Yoongi's, giving him a small smile.

"I appreciate the concern for (F/n)...I'm worried about her too." Namjoon sighed. "It's been over five years though, Yoongi hyung..."

"...I know." Yoongi looked to the side. It was time for him to move on. It was just proving to be harder than expected. Others in the hall cleared their throats awkwardly. The elephant in the room had finally been mentioned. All of them weren't oblivious to Yoongi's feelings no matter how much they pretended like they didn't know. Seokjin patted Yoongi's back by the time the doctor came out again, giving Namjoon the all clear.

They would be moving you into a proper room to rest where all the boys could see you. They all perked up at the sound of that, following the direction that the doctor led them too. Staff wheeled you over to the room where you felt sleepy. The terrifying night was over. Almost. You were tired, but the staff told you that you had a bunch of visitors waiting to see how you were. It's so late in the night. Who was waiting for you besides Namjoon? You tiredly furrowed your brows until you saw all seven of your favorite boys walk into the room. You smiled in delight to see them as they returned the excited looks.

"How was it?" Namjoon asked, the first to rush by your side. He kissed the side of your head as he looked you over.

"I'm fine and it went smoothly...we have a baby boy," You said as his dimples appeared. "I saw him for a quick second."

"Me too. We'll be able to see him in his incubator soon." Namjoon found your hand, interlocking it with his.

"We want to see him too!" Taehyung shoved himself into the conversation. "My last name is Kim so just say I'm family!"

"I'd like to see him too! Add me to the family list!" Seokjin shot his hand up.

"But I want to see the baby too..." Jimin pouted.

"We all will. Relax." Hoseok wrapped his arm around Jimin, patting the boy's back.

"We better!" Jungkook went over to your side. "Did you think of any names?"

"Nothing yet."

"Hoseok is a beautiful name," Hoseok said in a strange gravelly voice. "Aw! Thanks, Yoongi!"

"Was that supposed to be me, you motherf*cker?" Yoongi looked offended.

That was all it took to make you laugh. Seeing all the boys and having them here was a nice energy boost. They could always make you feel better. This hospital was no warehouse, but you were glad to be with them together here. It was easier to look on the brighter side. The boys laughed and waited for you. Hours passed and by the time it was the afternoon, a nurse came into the room. She had a bright personality as she encouraged the idea of you taking a small walk. It'll take you about four weeks to recover, but this was the first step. All the boys were trying to help you that it made you feel like a princess. A suffocated princess, but a princess nonetheless!

The nurse slowly led all of you to the NICU that was nearby. You held onto Namjoon as they brought you over to a large window. Everyone was practically holding in their breath. There inside an incubator was a tiny baby. He had a ventilator attached to him, but you could see his chest rising up and down. The movement was enough to make you burst into tears. That's your baby. Namjoon was tearing up as well while the rest of the gang stared in awe. All eight of you stood close to the window, admiring the baby boy who all of you knew would have such a bright future ahead of him. A great addition to the Kim family.
