*Autumn's P.O.V.*
"Uh that's not what I meant. I swear. I don't know what...I...I...um...I didn't mean to say that," I laughed trying to make what just happened less awkward. I don't think that was helping at all. I had a weird feeling in my stomach. It felt like fear. "I really don't understand how that came out of my mouth. I'm very sorry," I said.
They both appeared to be speechless. Not in a woah that was shocking way, more like they genuinely didn't know what to do. "I forgot something at my apartment that was important. Can I go get it please?" I lied. Victoria cleared her throat.
"You can when you are one break. Right now I need you to go through some paperwork. Kristen will help you," she murmured. She pressed a red button that made a noise similar to a doorbell that signaled Kristen to come up here.
"Why can't you help me?" I frowned. Victoria looked at the floor and sighed. After a few short moments she looked up at me.
"We both have some things we need to do. I promise Kristen will make it less boring than I would," she smiled.
"How is going through paperwork fun? You can't really make it fun," I questioned. She rested the side of her face on the palm of her hand.
"Kristen is very creative when it comes to this kind of stuff. Even if she didn't make it necessarily fun I'm sure the conversation between you two would turn out interesting anyways," she muttered.
"Oh okay," I whispered. The door handle raddled. I turned around to see Kristen with a black box.
"You forgot to knock," Diego mumbled. I forgot he was even here.
"I'm so sorry," she said sarcastically while rolling her eyes. "Anyways we'll be going," She chuckled as she walked to me and and made me hold her hand. After we left their office I heard a few mumbles. I listened closely.
"She'll be so sorry once I steal that damn rat," Diego growled.
"It's a hamster, not a rat. You just call them rats because you're mad your mom's ape accidently killed yours," she murmured.
"She shouldn't even have an ape. I thought that was illegal to own one of those things. She knows I'm terrified of monkeys," He complained. "Superalo, ese no es mi problema.(Get over it, That's not my problem) Yeah okay because getting a monkey wasn't preventable," He ranted.
The elevator door opened. I was kind of upset about that because I wanted to hear more of what they were talking about. I dreadfully got in to the elevator. I was trying to forget what happened a few minutes ago. Why did they just let that go? I'll never know unless I asked them. Wait what if they're going to bring it up later. Well we did just start. Right now this is all just a mess.
My hand was pulled by Kristen. She led me in to a room. Presumably the break room. I've never been in there before. It was the size of 5 rooms combined. She sat down on a grey couch and sat the box down on the glass table that was in front of her. This room was so colorless. I felt like I was going to go crazy because of it. She opened the box and put a stack of files on the other side of her.
I ran to the couch and flung myself on to it. "Why is this entire room filled with only grey things?" I asked her.
"One of Diego's favorite colors is grey. He should've added black or blue in my opinion. It reminds me of white room torture. Victoria has even tried to get him to get it refurnished," She said as she examined a piece of paper. I opened the my file.
"I thought Victoria was meaning actual paperwork? What is this? Why does this look something a preschoolers would need to do?" I questioned. It was fake job applications. This one said they were a fish.
"Well it's training besides the fact that this set of applications are better and you might be able to focus more on them. It just teaches you to make the right decisions," she explained.
"How many do I need to do?" I mumbled.
"Hmm...25," she murmured.
"After this can I draw something for Diego?" I asked with pleading eyes.
"Sure but I want you to take your time on these," she smiled. I decided to not take my time on them because they were pretty much easy. I just disapproved of the ones who were bad people.
"I'm done!" I exclaimed. She looked over at me with furrowed eyebrows.
"It's only been 15 minutes. How are you already done?" She questioned.
"They were easy. Can I draw now please please please please?" I begged.
"Okay then," She said as she got up and opened up cabinet. It was filled with gel pens and paper. She got me a notebook and the entire case of pens. IÂ immediately opened the notebook and pen case. I took out a black and brown pen and started drawing with them. Then I drew Diego who was going to be much smaller than the creature who was next to him.
"Do you think Diego will like this?" I asked Kristen. She looked over at the drawing and smiled.
"Yeah. What is next to him?" She asked as she pointed to it.
"A nice thing," I giggled. "Can we go give it to him please?" I asked. She nodded. She put out files in the black box. We walked back to the elevator.
"Did Victoria plan on us doing this before today or did she just decide for me to do it with you now?" I hesitantly asked as we waited.
"We've had that planned for two days now. Why do you ask?" she questioned. The elevator door opened. Kristen pulled me in and pressed the top floor.
"Just didn't know and was wondering," I lied. We stood in silence for a few minutes and finally the elevator came to a stop. We quickly got out.
"No I'm not listening to country music it gives me a migraine. I want to listen to Nicki Minaj in the car," Diego complained.
"Why is he so dramatic?" I asked Kristen.
"He's 50% a man child. He wouldn't act like that if he knew you were around though," She sighed. She knocked on the door.
"Come in," Victoria said. I giggled and walked up to Diego.
"I drew you something," I yelled.
"Let me see," he smiled. I put it on the table for him.
"Do you know what that is?" I questioned.
"Me and something else?" He guessed. I laughed.
"You and an ape. Do you like it?" I asked. Victoria turned around in her chair and started laughing.
"Yes...I love it," He muttered.
I got this done in exactly 12 hours like I said >:)
