Dear Sweetheart Chapter 237 My Corset âAm I really that horrible, Dad?â Wyatt asked, displeased. âI am a man of my word. Iâll be good to Jessica, or do you dislike her?â
âThatâs right. I dislike her. You two come from entirely different backgrounds!â Gerald exclaimed. âHow can she benefit you when her family doesnât own a business? Youâre still too young and naive.â
âBoth of her parents are professors. How is that a poor background?â Wyatt argued. He was tired of his fatherâs condescending tone. âStop it with your condescending tone. Not everyoneâs head is filled with money. Also, I own various businesses. Thus, I earn more than enough. If youâre still concerned, Iâll return my Lopez Group shares to you.â
âWyatt Lopez! Watch your tone when youâre speaking with your father!â Gerald was fuming. He instantly extended his hand and slapped Wyatt hard. âI dare you to repeat what you said!
âHubby!â Pamela cried out, shell-shocked. As soon as she realized what was happening, she grabbed Geraldâs arm and forced him to stop. âWyatt didnât mean any harm. You should take a seat and cool down.â
âHeâs talking back to me for a woman. What else could it be other than him rebelling against me?â Gerald scolded. âHe thinks heâs able to make money now and has grown a pair! He did not, however, consider what I had done over the years. Where would he be if it werenât for the yearly few hundred thousand Iâve given him? What would become of him if I didnât provide him with food, clothes, and a good education?â
The corner of Wyattâs lips began to bleed slightly from the force of the slap. Jessica wanted to help him wipe the blood away. Yet, Wyatt stopped her.
Wyatt then used his hand to wipe away the blood before giving Gerald a rebellious glare. âSlapping me is a given since youâre my father. Here, if you think this isnât enough, feel free to slap the left side of my face.â
Gerald was livid to the point where his chest heaved violently. âI donât care if you want to play around, and I donât care how long you plan to do that. But you better get married to the daughter of a business owner if you want to do so. Marrying other women is not an option!â
âIâm not marrying a business ownerâs daughter. You can go ahead and marry one if you want to!â Wyatt countered.
âWyatt!â Pamela scolded. âThatâs enough. Apologize to your dad this instant!â
âHeâs the one who looked down on others in the first place!âWyatt argued.
âHeâs the reason I despise getting married. Not everyone desires to abandon their entire life in exchange for money.â
âI see. Youâre all grown up now, arenât you?â said Gerald as he let out a bark of angry laughter. âIf you think so badly of me, then let us cut ties. Do you think I lack a son like you?â
Wyatt sneered. âI should be the one asking you that question. Do you think I lack a father like you? If it werenât for your sins, Mom wouldnât have been kidnapped by those people and lost the twins!â
âGet lost!â Gerald roared, flipping the table over.
âCool down, Hubby. Wyatt is still young,â Pamela said, hugging Geraldâs waist. She cast a quick glance at Jessica in the hopes that the latter would notice the signal. Thankfully, Jessica did, and she immediately hauled Wyatt out of the house.
The commotion from the house could still be heard when the pair left.
Wyattâs expression was dark. He entered the car and drove without a word. Jessica, too, remained silent throughout the ride.
The car then came to a stop by a lake.
After getting out of the car, Jessica walked down some steps and found Wyatt lighting a cigarette by the railing. One of his hands was in front of the lighter, and soon, a cloud of white smoke engulfed his face.
Wyattâs indeed handsome. I see why heâs able to charm that many ladies now.
âIâm sorry,â Jessica said as she hugged Wyatt from behind. Yet, there was no sense of remorse in her eyes. âI shouldnât have followed you back home. These wouldnât have happened then.â
âItâs not your fault,â Wyatt replied. With a tone filled with mockery, he continued, âThatâs the type of person he is. Self-centered assh*le. Everyone he considers unworthy is automatically viewed negatively by himâ
âIâm the reason for the argument, though,â Jessica insisted.
Wyatt turned around to hug Jessica, keeping her in his coat. âThe argument was bound to happen. Even if it werenât for you, there wouldâve been another catalyst to start it. Now, give me a smile.â
Jessica stood on her tiptoes and kissed him.
Wyatt did not hesitate to place his hands behind Jessicaâs head and kissed her with great technique. It was not long until Jessica was out of breath and had no choice but to lean toward Wyatt.
âStop smoking. Itâs bad for your lungs,â Jessica said as she pointed at the cigarette between Wyattâs fingers, snatching it over in the process.
Wyatt pretended to be threatening. âHow dare you snatch my things, huh?â
He took the opportunity to pull Jessica toward him again and kissed her hard. With a hand on her waist, he guided them to the bench. Despite the presence of others, Wyatt shamelessly drew Jessica and forced her to sit on his lap.
Jessica tried her best to break free from Wyattâs grip but to no avail. Seeing the cheeky look on Wyattâs face, Jessica knew he was not planning to let go anytime soon. Thus, she stopped struggling and simply allowed him to have his way.
The pair cuddled against each other while admiring the night view.
While stroking Wyattâs hair, Jessica asked distractedly, âAccording to what you said earlier, you have siblings?â
Wyatt hummed in response as he laid his head on Jessicaâs shoulder. âI was supposed to have younger siblings, but my dad used his relations and stole a big project from a company. That companyâs CEO was enraged and found some people to kidnap my mom. She was expecting at that time when she was kidnapped and threatened. It was already too late when she was sent to the hospital. She suffered from a miscarriage and had some problems with her body. Since that incident, she lost her ability to get pregnant.â
âThe business world is like a battlefield. Fights are inevitable,â Jessica noted. Sighing, she continued, âStill, theyâve crossed the line when they messed with someone elseâs wife and children. Itâs not fully your dadâs fault.â
Wyatt snorted. âHe has committed too many sins. Iâm worried youâll get tainted by his wrongdoings by merely hearing them!
Sometimes, I canât help but wonder if the karma from his sins is all happening to my mom.â
âWell, your dad is doing this so that you can live a better life. Donât blame him.â Jessica pinched Wyattâs ear as she said, âHow could you, as a son, pick fights with your dad? Go back home tomorrow and apologize to him, all right?â
âNo!â Wyatt protested.
âWyatt Lopez, I dare you to repeat that!â Jessica raised her voice as she continued, âAre you going back or not?â
âFine, Iâll go back,â Wyatt replied, burying his head in her chest, shamelessly taking advantage. âWhat bra are you wearing today? Why is it so hard?â
âYouâre rubbing your head against my corset,â Jessica replied.
âThatâs why I couldnât feel the softness,â Wyatt complained. âWhy are you wearing a corset out of the blue?â
âI like wearing corsets. Any problem with that?â Jessica spat, punching Wyatt repeatedly.
Wyatt cried out in pain, immediately stopping his complaints.
He then took the ring and presented it to Jessica once again. âJessie, Iâm not kidding. I canât promise you anything, but I can guarantee that youâre the only person I want to spoil and adore when weâre together.
Jessica was slightly hesitant. However, her hesitance was soon drowned by her hatred.
âOkay,â she replied, holding her hand out.
The ring was placed on her long and slender ring finger. Under the light, the diamond glistened. Wyatt drew Jessicaâs hand to him and kissed it several times before boldly kissing her again.
Wyattâs voice was thick with lust as he suggested, âLetâs not go back tonight, okay?â
Hesitant, Jessica asked, âIs your place safe? I donât want to get caught. Itâs too embarrassing.â
âItâs safe, I promise. Iâve checked every nook and cranny thoroughly,â Wyatt replied. With that, he wasted no time as he ushered Jessica to his car, wanting to get back home and spend the night with her. But just as they got in his car, he received a call.
Wyattâs expression soured after the call.
Pulling on his hair, he turned to Jessica. âCurtis is making a scene again. I have to head over to the club.â
âGo ahead. I can call a cab instead,â Jessica suggested.
âNot a chance,â Wyatt replied.
Wyatt then sent Jessica to her residential area. After hugging and kissing her, he said, âI wanted you to console me after that incident at my parentâs place, but now my hopes are shattered.â
âThatâs enough. Itâs time for you to leave,â Jessica said, pushing Wyatt away with reddened cheeks. âWe can still do that the next time.â
