Dear Sweetheart Chapter 184 I Will Stay By Your Side After pressing the record button, she said, âRepeat what you said earlier, Jefferson.â
âYouâve learned your lesson, huh?â Jefferson smirked and repeated his words.â
After that, Rayna handed him the document. âDonât worry. I wonât take advantage of you. Sign this document.â
Jefferson flipped through the pages and dropped his signature on the document.
They had finally reached a deal.
After the dinner, Jefferson instructed his driver to send Rayna home because he felt it was dangerous for Rayna to drive since she had had a few glasses of red wine.
When they arrived at Raynaâs residence, Jefferson asked, âWhen should we leave?â
âThe day after tomorrow. Iâll meet you at the airport in the morning.â Rayna just wanted the seven days to end as quickly as possible, but before this, she must get Curtisâ permission first as she still had a lot of office work to take care of.
âAll right.â Jefferson agreed. âIâll see you the day after tomorrow.â
After watching Rayna enter her house, Jefferson retracted his gaze and ordered his driver to leave.
Meanwhile, Rayna was stunned when she saw Curtis sitting in the living hall. âMr. Faymon, youâre still awake?â
âItâs only nine in the evening.â Curtis poured her a cup of tea because he could tell she was a little tipsy from her flushed face.
The warm tea instantly perked Rayna up. Once she felt better, she said to Curtis, âMr. Faymon, Iâll be away for a few days, and Iâll get Mr. Lopez to take over my work.â
A glint flashed across Curtisâ eyes. âis it something urgent you need to attend to immediately?â
Rayna nodded in response. Letâs just treat it as my way of repaying his kindness.
Over the next two days, Rayna handed her work over to Wyatt and hired a housekeeper for Curtis. After packing her suitcase, she hailed a taxi and went to the airport.
Jefferson was already waiting for her at the concourse. Once she arrived, he stepped forth and helped carry her suitcase as if he was used to doing it.
âLetâs go to the departure gate.â
Rayna was not used to how tactile Jefferson was, so she gradually maintained a distance from him.
âBelle, Iâm willing to forgo shares that are worth billions in exchange for only seven days with you. You should know who has gotten a better deal out of this.â Jefferson wrapped his hand around her shoulder and pulled her into his arms. âI hope you can treat me like how you did when we were dating.â
Rayna took in a deep breath. Since I accepted the deal, I must suck it up and go through with this. Come on, Rayna! You can be nice and act womanly. Itâs just seven days. You can do this!
After giving herself a little pep talk, Rayna was confident she could handle this. After plastering a smile on her face, she asked, âWhat time is our flight?â
âWe can leave anytime since itâs my private jet.â
His answer rendered Rayna speechless.
At the airportâs apron, Rayna noticed a private jet tucked at a corner. It might seem small, but its interior was quite spacious. She felt as if she had entered a luxurious hotel suite.
A few minutes later, an air stewardess came over and asked, âWould you like a drink or a dessert?â
âA glass of orange juice will do,â Rayna replied.
âAll right.â The air stewardess then turned her attention to Jefferson and spoke more respectfully. âHow about you, Mr. Hamilton?
Would you like a glass of wine?â
Jefferson did not bother to look at her. âIâll have what my girlfriend ordered.â
âOh, sheâs your girlfriend.â The air stewardessâ expression changed. She left their seats after responding with an awkward smile.
Once the air stewardess had left, Rayna turned to Jefferson while trying to suppress her anger. âAre you insane, Jefferson? I said Iâll spend seven days with you at Hallsbay, but I never agreed to be your girlfriend.â
Jefferson crossed his arms and smiled elegantly. âI thought I made it clear? I told you I hope you can treat me like how you did when we were dating. So whatâs wrong if I call you my girlfriend now?â
Rayna was fuming. D*mn it!
She did not expect she would fall into his trap. Okay. Calm down. I just need to endure this for seven days. Hang in there!
As the flight took off, Rayna looked out of the window and watched as the buildings disappeared from her sight. She could not help but wonder how Curtis was doing. Will the new housekeeper take advantage of him?
While she was in a daze, Jefferson asked, âAny places of interest in Hallsbay?â
Rayna gave him a confused look. âAre you asking me?â
Jefferson bobbed his head. âI heard heritage buildings are all over Hallsbay, and itâs a good place to relax. But Iâve never been there before.â
âGood heavens!â Rayna rolled her eyes and said, âI thought you had had everything planned out since youâd arranged this private jet. Iâve expected too much from you.â
âWe can still plan it now.â Jefferson loved the carefree way Rayna was behaving around her. His mood brightened as he handed her a notebook and said, âHere. Find those places for me.â
âWhy me? Donât you have hands to do it yourself?â Rayna snapped.
Jefferson chuckled. âYou were the one who always planned our trips when we traveled in the past.â
âThat was because youâd always opt for places where money could settle everything, taking the fun out of trips!â Rayna mumbled.
She immediately zipped her mouth when she realized she had spoken too much.
The man cradled his chin with his hand and kept looking at Rayna with eyes that beamed with affection. At that moment, he wished that the aircraft could fly forever in the sky and never land.
The places of interest in Hallsbay were more or less similar to the other tourist destinations in the country. Rayna randomly picked a few and asked for Jeffersonâs opinion.
Jefferson replied, âIâll leave it to you.â
Once again, Rayna was annoyed by his response.
Two hours later, they arrived at Hallsbay Airport.
After stepping out of the airport, they hailed a taxi and departed for Bulgari Hotel.
After walking into the hotel, Rayna handed a card to the front desk. âOne premium suite and one standard suite.â
âWhy waste money on two rooms? One presidential suite will do.â Jefferson glanced at her and teased, âYou donât have to be that wary around me. Itâs not like Iâll devour you.â
Rayna pulled herself together and smiled at the receptionist. âOne presidential suite, please.â
The presidential suite was six times more expensive than the two suites she initially wanted to register for.
Rayna and Jefferson left the front desk after collecting the access card, but they could still hear the two receptionists mutter, âOh, my God! If my boyfriend is as handsome as that guy, Iâll allow him to do anything to me!â
Rayna was bereft of words when she heard what the receptionist said. I must file a complaint against those two women once Iâve checked out of the hotel!
The five-star hotelâs presidential suite was almost on par with a palace. The one they would be staying in was designed to resemble an extravagant eighteenth-century royal palace. Rayna felt it was worth the money they paid.
After entering the suite, she tossed her suitcase aside and hopped onto the bed. She wanted to nap at first but decided to get up, go to the washroom to freshen up, and change into fresh clothes.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, she saw that Jefferson had taken off his coat and changed into a pair of fitting grey casual attire.
She could not help but feel awkward upon noticing his muscular body. Coincidentally, she was also wearing a gray skirt. It was as if they were a couple who put on matching outfits.
âIâll get changed.â When Rayna was about to return to her room, Jefferson stopped her. âDonât. You look good in that skirt.â
She did not know how to react to his remark. All right, fine! Iâll keep the skirt on!
Rayna did not feel like going out of town as it was already late. She planned to get the hotelâs limousine to send them to Cocculus Avenue so that they could walk around the area and take the Ferris wheel ride in the late evening.
Unfortunately, all of the hotelâs limousines were not in service. To make things worse, they failed to hail a cab after standing at the side of the road for a long time. In a fit of rage, Rayna decided to take the subway with Jefferson.
After buying the tickets, she gave one to Jefferson. âThere are many people in the subway station, so stay close.â
On second thought, she felt she did not phrase her sentence correctly. âWhat I mean is, follow me closely if you donât want to get lost.â
Jefferson inclined his head and grinned. âIâll do as you say.â
Rayna lowered her head and strode off.
The subway station was filled with passengers because that day was a weekend and also a festive holiday for the locals. The second subway line that led to six places of interest was particularly jam-packed.
Rayna and Jefferson waited for two rounds, but all the trains were crammed with people. They eventually managed to squeeze their way through the crowd and boarded the train during the third round.
Yet, the other passengers kept pushing Rayna from the back. She almost ran into a man who wore a singlet. His sweaty odor was so intense that Rayna could not help but shudder in disgust. Oh, God. Kill me!
Fortunately, Jefferson managed to pull her into his muscular arms and stood between Rayna and the man. Rayna heaved a sigh of relief when she took a whiff of the pleasant scent on Jeffersonâs body.
