People can do you harm,
They can spit nasty words at you;
They can threaten to take your life;
They can deceive you into doing things their way;
They can earn your trust just to ruin it;
They can make a promise they do not keep;
They can tell you flowery words
That are in contrast with their actions;
They can waste the efforts you have done;
They can overlook your achievements;
They can be nice to your face,
Yet they despise you deep inside;
They can love you for a while,
Only for the yearning to fade;
They can be with you for one day,
Then vanish the next;
Whereas the LORD ALMIGHTY GOD will be there
To comfort you, to help you, to strengthen you
When you are in need of a friend,
A hand to hold,
A shoulder to lean on,
An ear to listen to your rants,
A solution to your problems,
You can call upon His Most Holy Name;
He will send the angel to comfort you,
And encourage you in spite of your weaknesses,
That you are further exhorted to carry on,
In this world, where many sing a sad song,
Yet you are different; you choose to remain strong;
When you are firm in your faith, and your best friend is GOD.
