Theo and Darian were terrified to hear that because they knew Samuel suddenly fell ill mainly because of them. They had thought they carried it out seamlessly but they hadn’t thought that Maximilian would have noticed the details, which really terrified them.

Damen told them honestly, “Mr. Griffith must have eaten something that can raise the blood pressure in a short time, such as fat, glucose and so on.”

Theo immediately cut in, “That’s impossible. My dad knew he had high blood pressure. He wouldn’t have eaten those. Cut it out. You will be sorry for it if you keep talking nonsense.”

Darian stopped Theo subconsciously and said in a low voice, “Bro, that’s reckless. We’d better not irritate Doctor Damen.” He knew Theo was just being so exasperated but he disagreed on his brother’s impulsive act which might cause them great trouble if Doctor Damen was infuriated.

Theo also realized that he almost got into big trouble by getting on Doctor Damen’s nerves, who was after all such a nationwide prestigious doctor that he must have acquaintance with quite a lot of big shots. At the thought of that, he couldn’t help breaking out in a cold sweat. Then he bowed to Damen clasping his hands, “I’m sorry, Doctor Damen. I’m such a big mouth. I hope you don’t take it to heart.”

Damen was not a push-over, but he didn’t bother to get even with Theo considering that Theo as the Griffiths must be acquainted with Mr. Lee.

Victoria came up to Damen and asked, “Thank you so much, Doctor Damen. How much should I pay?”

Instantly, the Griffiths and their relatives burst into whisper.

“Oh my! It must cost an arm and a leg to pay Doctor Damen.”

“I heard that the minimum charge was a few million dollars.”

“Nonsense. You can’t pay him too much even if the minimum charge is tens of thousands of dollars.”

Seeing this, Maximilian knew that they didn’t want to pay for it or something so he sneered, “Looks like you don’t want to pay for it.”

They were stumped by Maximilian’s words and didn’t know what to say looking at one another.

Theo frowned, “I wonder if the man who helped us held a grudge against us. Where do we get so much money?” The Griffiths were not what they used to be, so a few million dollars was not a small amount of money to them, let alone tens of millions.

“Doctor Damen, how much is it? I will pay,” said Victoria.

Damen wiped his sweat and said waving his hand, “Well, the man who asked me here had paid me already. Don’t bother, Ms Griffith.” It would be inappropriate to ask Mrs. Lee, wife of the young master of the Dragon Sect, for the money.

What a relief to the rest people on the spot, who were just worried about paying the fee.

Theo grumbled, “When did our family know such a big shot?” Nobody answered because they were all confused. While they knew there must be a reason but they didn’t have time for that at that moment.

After Damen left, Maximilian transferred some money to Damen secretly because he didn’t want to take advantage of Damen all the time.

Theo and his company then went to see Samuel. He said rubbing his hands, “Dad, how are you feeling now? Doctor Damen really deserves his fame.” He really had a thick skin. He never thought he was to blame for it and that he did nothing wrong about it till then.

Samuel was so irritated by his words that his face turned blue, which well illustrated how angry he was with Theo especially when he saw Theo took his will by force, showing no respect to him.

“Don’t bother me these days,” said Samuel coldly.

Theo looked awkward, knowing that Samuel was still angry with him. He would have been aggressive if Samuel had died. But since Samuel had pulled through, he’d better behave himself.

“Dad, don’t fly off the handle. It’s not good for your health. Please calm down. I’m just joking,” said Theo putting up a smiling face.

“Yeah, Dad! What accounts is your health,” added Darian.

Samuel didn’t bother to look at Theo and Darian. He was finally clear that his two sons were so bad.

Doctor Damen also told him the reason why his blood pressure suddenly went high. He knew it was Theo and Darian who did it but he was too ashamed of it to talk about it.

When Samuel was discharged from hospital, their plans fell through. Theo and Darian were extremely disturbed because they had thought that after Samuel died, the property of the Griffith’s would have been in the bag but for Damen. They would have been doing whatever they wanted with the money.

They couldn’t let go of it just because Samuel had pulled through.

Theo was smoking unhappily when he suddenly said with a vicious look in his eyes, “Well, now that it’s the case, he asked for it.”

Darian couldn’t help trembling when he saw Theo’s vicious look. He had a bad hunch and said subconsciously, “Bro, don’t do things on impulse. It will get you in trouble.”

“What are you talking about? Can’t you see that Dad already thought highly of Victoria today? If we don’t do something about it, we won’t be able to rival Victoria in the Griffith’s then, let alone the legacy.”

said Theo unhappily. He was straightforward with Darian.

Darian frowned, “You are right, bro! Then what should we do?”

Theo sneered, “Go big or go home. Since what’s done is done, let the storm rage on. Go get a killer.

I’ve saved quite a few million dollars these years. I will spend them all on the killer.”

“What?” Darian was stumped because he was after all not as cruel as Theo. He knew Theo really meant it when Theo began to scold him.

“Okay, bro. I’m on it.” Seeing that Theo pulled out all the stops, Darian also panicked but he could do nothing but obeyed his brother’s order. After all, they would sink or swim together.
