Maximilian also knew what Chief Carr meant. He replied to Chief Carr with courtesy and said goodbye to him. Connor smiled and said, "Mr. Lee, Iâm leaving now. See you next time."
"OK." Maximilian nodded. He didnât stay for long, because it was getting late now and Maximilian had to go home. When he got back, he sneaked into the house, for fear that he would wake up Victoria and Flora.
"Maximilian, why are you acting so stealthily?" Floraâs voice suddenly rang out behind Maximilian, a glimmer of smile in her eyes.
Maximilian hit Flora on the forehead grumpily and asked, "Why are you not sleeping yet?"
"I just came out of the toilet." Flora stuck out her tongue in a naughty way and answered.
Maximilian had no time to joke with Flora. He turned around and went into Victoriaâs room. Maximilian saw Victoriaâs beautiful figure and enjoyed it.
Maximilian lay in bed and took Victoria in his arms from behind. Victoria mumbled something and went back to sleep.
Meanwhileâ¦
Gloomy, Mark went to Blake Robinsonâs room. When Blake saw Mark, he just threw a glance at him with a grim face. "How did my brother die?"
"Your brother didnât die. He was just arrested." Mark gave a dry smile. He found that Blake and Phoenix shared the same personality. Both of them were hard to handle.
"Humph, whatâs the difference between sitting around waiting and dying?" Blake stared at Mark in anger and asked.
Mark replied snappishly, "Does it have anything to do with me? Look for the man who captured you brother yourself, if you can."
"Where is he?"
Blake smacked his hand down on to the table. The table cracked and broke apart. Mark was dumbfounded. He swallowed and gibbered, "I can take you there."
"Take me there right now." Blake said in a cold voice. He wished he could take revenge for his brother.
Now Blake was no longer in agony, and he was exuding ferocity.
Mark could feel the ferocity exuded from Blake and shuddered. Blakeâs ferocity terrified Mark. It was horrifying, and overwhelming.
"How about this? Letâs act separately. You assassinate him, while I kidnap Victoria." Mark whispered.
"As you wish. I just want to take revenge." Blake waved his hand impatiently, not taking Markâs words to heart at all.
Mark clenched his teeth, ignoring Blake. No matter Blake made it or not, at least when he caught Victoria, there would be an opportunity for negotiation.
Just at this moment, Maximilian heard a gunshot. He flinched subconsciously, and covered Victoriaâs ears at the same time, in case she was scared in the dream.
After all, if one was waken up from the dream by a gunshot, it would cast a huge shadow on him.
Victoria woke up gradually and rubbed her forehead, asking, "What happened?"
"Someone fired. Find a place to hide in." Maximilian answered. He was not joking with Victoria. At this point, he had to be calm.
Victoria believed Maximilianâs words and put on her clothes in haste. Judging by the noise of the gunshot, Maximilian fixed the exact position of his enemy.
Hiding in the shadow, Blake cursed, "Damn it! My first shot actually missed."
Blake had presumed that this would be an easy thing to do, but he didnât expect that he would fire a blank shot, and that enraged him. He couldnât help but start to swear. This result was far from his imagination.
Blake opened the sighting telescope again, but failed to find Maximilian. He couldnât help frowning.
Could Maximilian have hidden himself? When Blake was about to throw the gun away, he saw a shadow rushing up to the mountain. It was running like a cheetah, too fast to be caught.
It was after Blake had followed the shadow for about a dozen seconds that he realized it was a human being. Blake was stupefied. It was the first time he had ever seen someone running so quickly. He could break the world record.
Blake gritted his teeth. He never believed that anyone would be able to dodge the bullets, but today, someone did it. Not only did that man dodge a dozen bullets, but he was also rushing towards Blake gradually.
Blakeâs color changed. At this moment, he didnât choose to wait for his doom, but threw away his gun at once, took out a dagger from his pocket and gave a cruel smile, saying, "I heard that my brother was caught by you. Is that true?"
"Your brother was simply looking for trouble. He asked for it. Itâs natural for him to be caught. Touch pitch, and youâll be defiled." Maximilian said flatly.
"Bullshit! Even if my brother was caught, he couldnât be caught by some noob like you." Blake roared and interrupted Maximilian directly. If his brother was captured by a master, he would be convinced.
Judging from Maximilianâs appearance, Blake concluded that he couldnât be a master, and thus asserted that Maximilian was a noob. Therefore, he didnât take Maximilian to heart.
Maximilian yawned and said, "Since you want to fight against me so bad, bring it on. Iâll play with you anytime."
Hearing Maximilianâs words, Blake was furious. Suddenly, he began to wield the dagger and kept attacking Maximilian. In the face of Blakeâs attack, Maximilian smiled silently, not taking it seriously at all.
"This move is useless to me." Maximilian curled his lips and said.
Blake was mentally fragile, and couldnât stand anyone looking down upon him. He began to act rashly, and his movements were full of flaws.
This was exactly what Maximilian wanted. He pressed his knee against Blakeâs underbelly, and Blakeâs face was distorted in pain. He half knelt down on the ground, almost losing his consciousness.
Maximilian took advantage of the opportunity and threw a punch at Blake, who fell backwards and flew out for ten meters. He climbed up hurriedly and kept stumbling backwards. When Blake saw Maximilian again, it was as if he was watching a demon.
"Donât come near me." Blake shouted crazily.
Maximilian was amused in an annoyed way. A moment ago, Blake had been so tough and bold, while now, he acted like a chicken.
Blake yielded to Maximilianâs strength. The moment they hit each other, Blake realized that he was no match for Maximilian. Besides, he was already severely injured, so Maximilian said flatly, "Just go with your brother."
"Wait. If you let me go, Iâll tell you something." Suddenly, Blake raised his hand and said anxiously. He knew that only by doing that now could he save his own life.
"What is it?" Maximilian asked. He was not afraid that Blake would find opportunities to launch a sneak attack on him. Judging from Blakeâs panic-stricken look, Maximilian didnât believe that he was lying.
"You landed in our trap because you believed our distraction display. That guy called Mark, is on his way to kidnap your girlfriend." Blake said hurriedly.
Maximilian gave a slight frown and made a phone call subconsciously. When his call was not answered by Victoria, Maximilian became aware that Blake was not lying to him.
