Preston was suffering intense pain all over his body, and the pain in his crotch almost killed him.
In an instant, the front of Prestonâs robe was completely stained with blood, turning into bloody red.
"It⦠it hurts!"
Preston groaned, his face distorted, and then he threw himself on his knees slowly.
The chef and the others were dumbfounded, as they never expected that a plate would be so powerful.
It was nothing but an ordinary plate!
"Young⦠young master, how are you feeling now? How about we send you to hospital?" The chef asked in a panic.
Preston stared at Maximilian with resentment. "Who⦠who are you on earth? How can you be so powerful?"
"Iâm just an ordinary man. I just want to show you how to lay low. When one puts on airs, he will be attacked by a plate," Maximilian answered with a smile.
Preston felt depressed. All the arrangements he had made were to push him forward today, but in the end, he came to such a shameful end.
It seemed that Preston had never done anything successfully after he met Maximilian.
"You just wait and see!" Preston spat.
When he wanted to ask the chef to take him away, the crash of vehicles resounded in the air.
Maximilian and the others looked outside the yard gate, only to see a Land Rover crashing into the car Preston was previously in, and now Prestonâs car became a total wreck.
"Bastard! Who crashed my car?" Preston roared in fury.
Master Benedict got off the car with his people and strode into the yard while Preston was crying.
"Master Benedict? Why have you come here, Master Benedict? You come just on time. Come on and help me fix Maximilian!" Preston called out, as if he had seen the savior.
Master Benedict walked up to Preston with a smile and then spat out a gobbet of phlegm over Prestonâs face.
"Bah! You fucking bastard. How dare you make trouble at Mr. Leeâs housewarming banquet? Where did you get that nerve from?"
"Master Benedict, what do you mean by that? Havenât we reached an⦠agreement before?"
Before Preston could finish his words, Master Benedict lifted his foot and stamped it hard on his face.
Preston screamed in pain.
"I gave you a chance, but you wouldnât even admit you are wrong now! Come and fix Preston and his people!"
With Master Benedictâs roar, his men drew out their sticks one after another and beat Preston and his people up.
Master Benedict cast a glance at Preston and his people, and then trotted to Maximilianâs side.
He bowed and smiled obsequiously like a servant, and said, "Mr. Lee, Iâm late. Itâs my fault to startle you."
Maximilian squinted at Master Benedict and said in a cold voice, "Iâm afraid thereâs more to it. Do you think Iâm an idiot?"
"No, itâs not like that. How dare I regard you as an idiot? Please forgive me, Mr. Lee. Iâve played along with his plot on purpose, just to see what he wanted to do."
Master Benedict put on a miserable look, trying hard to beg for Maximilianâs forgiveness.
Maximilian snorted, pointed at Preston and his people and said, "Take them away and then sort them out. Itâs not an auspicious thing to beat them to death in my yard."
"OK, OK. Iâm doing it now."
Master Benedict straightened up at once, shouting orders at his people to drag Preston and the others away.
Before long, Preston and his people, who were badly injured, were brought away.
Master Benedict bent over and said fawningly, "I reckoned something might happen, so Iâve prepared many gifts. You may send them to your guests as compensation later, Mr. Lee."
Maximilian nodded and said flatly, "Then you are responsible for seeing the guests off. Send them to hospital for a check-up, and soothe them. Youâll be held responsible if anyone gets unhappy."
"Please rest assured. Iâll definitely get it done. No one will say anything bad about you."
"Go ahead."
Maximilian waved his hand casually, and signaled Master Benedict to deal with the guests first.
Now that it had come to this far, Maximilianâs move just now had held all the guests in awe. None of them dared to have any negative opinion on him. On the contrary, they were astonished at Maximilianâs sudden change.
The legendary loser dependent on his wife now seemed to be a martial arts master in movies and TV dramas. Maximilianâs change had impressed the guests.
Master Benedict arranged his people to send the guests away, while Samuel and the others settled down in the villa.
When everything was settled, Maximilian sat down on the sofa in the living room, face to face with Master Benedict.
"Benedict, now the gale is raging and the storm is about to burst. You need to figure out what to do."
"Iâve already figured it out. Iâve decided to follow you." Master Benedict said seriously.
"Are you sure about this? It will be a hard way ahead of you once you follow me. Even if youâve overcome all obstacles, you may not reach the other shore." Maximilian said with his eyes shut.
After he came back from Lingshan Temple, Maximilian had thought a lot. He figured out that what Master Fazhi said was inspired by his enemy.
His enemy couldnât wait any long and intended to drive a wedge between Maximilian and other parties involved, so the situation would become turmoil.
As long as the situation was in a chaos, each interested party would go into action, and then everyone would be locked in a tangled fight.
In the face of an impending dogfight, Maximilian hadnât been fully prepared yet. However, he was unable to resist the changes of situation. What he could do was to meet the challenges and break the barrier.
Master Benedict gave a bitter smile and said, "Now, everybody gives me a cold shoulder. Iâm marginalized by not only Dragon Queen, but also the Head of dragon lords.â
âIf I follow them, I may not take the credit, but I will be the first one to die. I donât want to be the cannon fodder. However, if I follow you now⦠Although itâs dangerous, Iâll benefit the most in the future.â
âI am just joking. Iâll take my chances and risk my life. If you win, there lies in front of me a way to a happy life full of delicious food, good wine, as well as beauties from various countries. If you lose, everyone dies anyway. It doesnât matter if I die a few years earlier. I have fought for my dream, so it will be a worthwhile life."
After a few monthsâ deliberation, Master Benedict finally made the most important decision in his life, and put all his chips on Maximilianâs side.
Maximilian gave a faint smile and patted Master Benedict on the shoulder. "Since youâve taken my side, do whatever I tell you to do. Donât waver anymore. Otherwise, I wonât let you off the hook so easily."
"Donât worry. From now on, I, Benedict, only have you as my master!"
