A head was not easy to chop. It would take at least three tries for even a professional executioner to decapitate someone with a sword. It wasn't a pretty sight and this was also the reason why the heads of the criminals were covered with a bag before the blade came down to cut it.

Yoongi knew the cut wouldn't kill Young Master Daesung.

It was deep and the blood poured out as if it were nothing more than water leaking out from a jug.

Young Master Daesung's hands reached up to put some pressure on the wound, a pathetic and useless attempt to stop the blood, but all it really did was make everything messier.

Taehyung cringed at the sight and his first natural reaction was to look away from the gore that could possibly traumatize him for life. He didn't want to remember this young master's face for that long.

Daesung's mother screamed out in horror. Her blood-curdling voice quivering in disbelief with her eyes wide open as if they would pop out from their sockets at any given moment. "Daesung-ah!!! Daesung-ah!!!!!" She screamed for her son that was being killed in front of her. The poor lady was unable to catch up with everything that had unfolded. She grabbed her head that had suddenly started to ache as she saw the traumatizing sight of her son gagging, choking on his own blood.

Young Master Daesung's eyes had turned as red as the blood that flowed out from his mouth and neck. Veins had popped up on his forehead as sweat trailed down to his jaw and his tongue being forced out as a natural instinct. A sight that could horrify anyone and everyone, however, Yoongi was completely unfazed as he saw it.

It wasn't like it was his first time seeing a person die in front of his eyes.

The first person who had died in front of him was his mother and if that hadn't traumatized him, this scene would naturally not be remembered by him after a few weeks.

It seemed as if Young Master Daesung wanted to say something but with his life slipping away from his hands and his tongue unable to move properly, his mouth wide open—gasping for air, all that could be heard were inhuman sounds of groaning and grunting.

Taehyung dare not turn his head to look at such a sight and when he heard the inhuman torturous sounds, he held his hand up to block his ears.

Yoongi stood up as his eyes dare not move away from the twisted face of young master Daesung who was covered in red but definitely not the kind of red one would pray to be covered in.

*A/n: 'The kind of red one would pray to be covered in' is referring to wedding garments as the groom and bride are covered in red garments from head to toe.

Yoongi raised his sword as he questioned with a rather cold tone that was devoid of any other emotions except for anger and disgust, "You dare plead innocent after trying to hurt a person that belongs to me?!" The sword came down with force and it stopped as it cut into the bone but couldn't go any further. The cervical vertebrae had blocked it and the sword got stuck.

Yoongi gritted his teeth as he raised his right feet and placed it on Young Master Daesung's shoulders before pushing the man away and pulling the sword out.

"Your highness!!!" The almost dead man's mother suddenly cried out as she fell on the ground and crawled towards Yoongi, clutching onto his leg, begging him for forgiveness on behalf of her son, "Let him go!! I beg you... H-he's our only son fufufu~ We'll teach him properly next time! Please just spare his life!!"

Yoongi frowned as he looked down at the noblewoman who had always been dignified and proud of herself as she tried to portray the elegant noble role she was given, however, at this moment, there was not even a trace of that dignity or elegance. She was crawling on the ground, her face red and puffy, stained with tears that made it impossible for her to open her eyes for more than a few seconds.

Yoongi kicked her off.

To put it blatantly, it was already too late for her to be begging. Even the countries best doctor wouldn't be able to save this man who had his half neck sliced as if it were nothing more than a chicken's neck.

Yoongi raised his sword once again and this time he used both his hands to put more force to the cut. He was successful! The head fell down in an instant but Daesung, who was already dead, wasn't exactly 'dead' yet. His head rolled on the ground and knocked against his mother's feet.

The woman turned reluctantly to look at the thing that had touched her leg and when she saw her son's eyes still moving around frantically in confusion and pain, she screamed out at the top of her voice and fainted right away.

At this moment, Taehyung decided to turn his head, thinking that it was all over, but Yoongi immediately covered Taehyung's eyes with his hand as he whispered, "Don't look."

Taehyung gulped but said nothing and simply nodded his head.

Young Master Daesung's headless body fell down limply and his eyeballs that were still moving in a crazed manner slowly came to a stop.

"Your highness!" It was the voice of Hyun who had arrived a bit late. He had transferred Jimin and Jungkook to jail before this and came here, running after the crown prince and Taehyung as fast as he could because he knew that the crown prince wasn't up to anything good, however, he was still late!

How was he to know that Yoongi would move so fast?!

He thought the crown prince would first start to talk the matter out since Young Master Daesung's family was influential, but now that he looked at such a scene, he could guess what had happened here. Yoongi had probably killed him as soon as he came here without even listening to an explanation.

The crown prince's temper was still just as spontaneous as always.

Hyun's eyes widened as he looked at the headless corpse lying on the ground along with a bodyless head and a fainted woman whom he could only guess to be Young Master Daesung's mother.

"Your highness!! What have you done?!" Hyun shouted in shock and worry.

He held no pity for the dead man lying in front of him, but this didn't mean that he supported this sudden execution. Young Master Daesung was not just a nobody and if his father got to know that his only son had been murdered by the crown prince, the result need not be voiced out.

In this dog eat dog world where the strong suppress the weak, one needed to consider the status of the other before killing. This was how things worked. If you didn't have a high status in this society, nobody would even care to cover up your corpse with a white cloth.

No matter how powerful you were, the consequences of killing someone from a noble family weren't gonna be pretty and the crown prince of the country would also not be an exception.

Hyun, "Your highness, we had almost managed to catch all the rats! What are we going to-"

"He dare spit on Taehyung," Yoongi interjected.

"Huh?" Hyun furrowed his eyebrows as he heard this small comment that was almost said in a mumbling manner but was still audible enough to be heard.

Yoongi wiped his sword on the clothes of the corpse before putting the sword back in its scabbard, "Hyun, has anyone ever spat on your face?"

"Eh?" Hyun was confused and it took him a whole minute to reluctantly shake his head as he answered, "Never..."

Hyun was the crown prince's most loyal and trusted subordinate so there weren't many people in this world who would even think about spitting on his face.

Yoongi chuckled but it sounded dry with no sense of happiness or amusement, "Of course you haven't... It's humiliating and disgusting. Do you think I should have just let him go after he tried to humiliate and look down on 'my person' like that?"

Hyun gulped as he heard this.

Young Master Daesung should have certainly not done something like that. His actions would never be justified, but how was the crown prince any different? He had also killed the man just because he spat on Taehyung's face.

This situation... Was really a bit too complicated.

Yoongi didn't bother waiting around to discuss it in greater detail. He grabbed Taehyung's hand and pulled him along as he headed out first.

Hyun was left dumbfounded on the spot as he suddenly wondered how he was supposed to take care of this mess.

The wolf can come and kill the sheep, but it was the shepherd who'll need to count the losses and make up for it.

Taehyung had his head down this whole time as he willingly got dragged away by Yoongi.

He would be lying if he said that he wasn't shocked at Yoongi's ruthlessness. Even though he was the victim of Daesung's bullying, he still felt sympathy for that dead man. That Young Master's one mistake had cost him his life. It was certainly a bit pitiful.

Taehyung was a bit afraid. He had never seen this side of the crown prince, he had merely heard about it before. Hearing and experiencing it with your own eyes were two completely different things.

This just came to show that the crown prince was really a hypocrite when it came to treating people. To his friends and family, he was kind and innocent while to those that offended him, he would turn into a grim-reaper.

After they had walked out of the manor and finally managed to put some distance between themselves and that place, Yoongi suddenly came to a stop and Taehyung also stopped.

"Are you afraid?" Yoongi didn't turn his head as he questioned.

Taehyung gulped but didn't answer. For some reason, he couldn't give a clear response to that question. His heart was racing and he wasn't sure what the reason for it was. Maybe he really was afraid... Just a little.

Yoongi let go of Taehyung's hand, "I'm sorry... For everything..."

"..." Taehyung looked up but all he could see was the back of Yoongi's head.

Yoongi, "If you want to go back with your brother... I'll understand your reasons..."

Taehyung didn't know what was going on inside Yoongi's mind, but somehow he could sense a feeling of guilt and sadness laced along with his words.

"I should have never been so selfish..." Yoongi was blaming himself. He shouldn't have put Taehyung in jail in the first place. If he hadn't done that, Taehyung would have never needed to go through that humiliation.

It was Yoongi's own selfishness and insecurities that had caused this whole scene.

It was silent for a few minutes as both of them dare not say a word and this silence was broken by Taehyung.

"I want to go home."

"..." Yoongi felt his heart clench, a feeling that he had never felt before this. It hurt, but for the first time in his life, he could not do anything about it.

In the end, it was Taehyung's decision.

Just like Shao Lan had said, the prince that came as a hostage would one day need to go back to his own country.
