The three people had finished four jars of wine and it was certainly enough to make them so drunk that they weren't even able to tell their legs apart.
Anyone who looked at Yeowool would be able to tell that this man was dead drunk. His face had turned red and he couldn't even hold up his cup with his shaky hands. His body seemed to be swaying from side to side as he encircled his one arm around Yoongi and spoke in a slurred tone, "Your highness, you are so kind~"
Yoongi side-glanced at Yeowool and didn't say or do anything. His face was hidden behind the veil but Taehyung could still feel that this man was very much drunk, maybe even more than Yeowool.
Taehyung immediately stood up and went over to the other side in order to remove the man's hand from around the crown prince's neck.
"That's really inappropriate, don't you think?" Taehyung asked as he glared at Yeowool.
Yeowool squinted at Taehyung, "Why do you look so drunk?"
Taehyung sighed and lightly kicked Yeowool away from the crown prince. He made some room in between the two and sat down.
Yeowool didn't seem to mind the rude behavior nor did he notice the hostility aimed towards him. He simply looked at the empty cup in his hand and then back at Taehyung.
"Why is this empty?"
"Want me to fill it up?" Taehyung asked with a mischievous smirk that Yeowool could not sense the meaning behind.
"Yes! Yes!" Yeowool held up the cup and Taehyung poured water into it instead of wine. At this point, Taehyung was kinda impressed by the man's alcohol capacity. After drinking so much wine, it was impressive that he wasn't dead yet.
In the next moment, before the water could even go down his throat, Yeowool face-planted himself on the table.
"What? Did you really die?" Taehyung poked the man's head and asked.
Yeowool groaned as if he were trying to say that he wasn't dead, he was simply sleeping.
"I win!" Taehyung exclaimed happily as he smacked the sleeping man's head.
Taehyung suddenly felt like hitting the man was giving him a great sense of pleasure so he decided to hit him like a drum but his hand stopped in mid-air when he felt something heavy resting on his shoulder.
Taehyung carefully turned his head to look at the person who was resting his head against his shoulders. His lips softly curved up into a small smile as he poked Yoongi's cheeks and asked, "Is your highness tired?"
Yoongi seemed to be asleep but even in his half-unconscious state, he responded, "You shouldn't drink."
"Hmm?" Taehyung chuckled as he heard this, "What does your highness mean? You should be the one who needs to stop drinking."
"No... You have bad drinking habits..." Yoongi spoke with gaps in between his sentences.
"Bad drinking habits?"
Yoongi nodded in his sleep as he agreed, "Really troublesome... Habits."
Taehyung couldn't understand what Yoongi was talking about. He had a really high alcohol tolerance level and he didn't remember a time when Yoongi had seen him drunk so he couldn't understand why the man was saying something like this. The last he checked, he had never really got drunk even though he drank a lot and so, naturally, he didn't have any drinking habits.
"What is my habit?" Taehyung asked carefully with an amused expression.
"You..." Yoongi suddenly opened his eyes as he looked at Taehyung and continued, "Kiss people when you're drunk."
"..." Taehyung froze up as he heard this answer. It was not even the least expected answer, it was an answer that wasn't expected at all.
Yoongi and Taehyung seemed to be in a staring competition as neither one of them dared to say another word.
Yoongi was certainly very drunk and it was hard to not notice. His hand reached up and he removed the veil that covered his face. From this action alone, Taehyung could see that this man was as drunk as he could get.
Now that the annoying veil was finally removed, Taehyung could clearly see the face that was always hidden behind it. For everyone else, they would only be able to notice the cursed scar at first glance but when Taehyung saw his face, he didn't even seem to notice the scar, and instead his eyes were glued to the man's eyes that seemed to be holding within them all the stars in the universe. Taehyung had never seen eyes so beautiful. So black that Taehyung could almost feel himself getting lost within their intensity.
Yoongi pointed at his lips as he spoke, "Right here... You have a habit of kissing random people..."
Taehyung felt his heart stop for a minute as his eyes trailed down from Yoongi's eyes to his lips that looked to be flushed pink like a petal from the cherry blossom tree in Taehyung's manor. They looked a bit moist and a bit too soft as if they belonged to a newborn child.
Taehyung gulped as his eyes dare not look away from the man's face. His eyes were perfect and so were his lips. This man was born to win the hearts of the people with such a face so why did everyone hate him so much?
Taehyung sighed as he felt that he was a bit selfish. He didn't know why but he liked the fact that not many people were able to see this beauty. He was glad that not many people liked this man. If nobody else could see this man or like him, it meant Taehyung was the only one blessed and it was somehow really relieving for him.
Yoongi pouted and his lips seemed so tempting that Taehyung had to forcefully look away in order to control himself.
Yoongi frowned as he saw Taehyung looking away. His hand reached out to touch the man's face and he turned it back to face him and asked, his eyes brimming with tears, "You hate this face too, don't you?"
Taehyung was left stunned as he heard this.
Here he was thinking that there wasn't something more beautiful than this in the world but this crown prince seemed to have such a huge misunderstanding?!
"It's ugly, isn't it? You feel repulsed, don't you?" The tears that were being held within his eyes fell down as he asked. His cheeks flushed red and Taehyung found the sight to be so cute and beautiful that he was stunned on the spot with no words to say and his body not willing to move.
Yoongi looked up at the man with such sadness evident in his eyes that it almost made him look pitiful as he spoke, "You are going to turn away too, aren't you? You're gonna run away... Please... Please don't run away from me..."
Just who in the world was running away?! Even if the crown prince wanted to chase him away, there was no way he would ever be willing to leave Yoongi's side so what nonsense was this man spouting?!
Taehyung seemed to want to say a lot but for some reason he was silent. He wanted to listen more. He had never seen this crown prince be so weak. He had never seen him so defenseless and vulnerable.
If Yoongi wasn't so drunk, he would have never said things like this.
This was so out of character for him that it made Taehyung feel things that he couldn't even explain.
Yoongi clutched onto Taehyung's robe as he spoke through the tears that streamed down his face like a waterfall, "They all left... They abandoned me... Are you gonna be one of them too...?"
"Your highness..." Taehyung finally decided to open his mouth but Yoongi wasn't willing to listen as he shut his eyes and ducked his head down.
"Please don't say it... I can't lose you too..." Yoongi was finally being honest.
"Your highness, I'm not leaving you."
Yoongi looked up at his face and frowned as he spoke, "Liar! You're gonna go back, I know it!"
"Your highness-"
"Your mother would call you back! You'll run away like the rest of them!"
"Your highn-"
"Don't you dare lie to me! Don't give me hope!"
Yoongi was about to say something more but all of the words he was about to speak got stuck in his throat as he felt himself getting pulled closer by the neck.
Taehyung's warm lips wrapped around his and it was definitely not something Yoongi had expected. He seemed to have woken up from his drunken state in an instant and yet, at the same time, he seemed to have been even more intoxicated.
Taehyung no longer cared about controlling himself or acting properly. The man he loved was crying out in front of him and displaying his weak side. There was no way Taehyung could simply let Yoongi be lost in self-pity and insecurity like this.
Their lips moved in sync with each other as Yoongi closed his eyes and responded back to the kiss.
Taehyung leaned in more, almost making Yoongi fallback but he instantly stopped when he heard a sound.
Clunk~
Taehyung pulled himself away from the kiss as he looked at the origin of the sound.
It was the waiter who had brought them another two jars of alcohol that they hadn't even ordered.
"Leave!" Taehyung shouted in his deep voice making the waiter shiver as he took a few steps back and ran away from the site.
He glanced back at Yoongi and wondered if the waiter had recognized the crown prince. It would be trouble if the crown prince was to be found roaming around in these streets but it would be even more trouble if rumors about them were to be spread.
The country is almost at the brink of war and was facing internal strife while the monarch is leisurely drinking away in a wine shop and kissing a man? It was certainly going to cause an uproar and although Taehyung wanted to continue the kiss, he was aware of the dangers so he stood up and pulled Yoongi along with him as he spoke, "We need to leave."
"But we haven't paid..."
Taehyung looked at Yeowool and lightly kicked him as he responded, "Since I won, let him pay."
Yoongi looked down at the man and frowned but still nodded his head as he spoke, "A bet is a bet."
Poor Yeowool was abandoned and he was surely in for a heart attack when he woke up realizing that he had to pay up his one year salary because of the hostage prince who had tricked him.
Taehyung pulled the veil down and covered Yoongi's face once again as he pulled him along and immediately ran away from the wine shop.
"W-where are we going?" Yoongi asked.
Taehyung stopped walking so fast and looked back at Yoongi with an indecipherable expression as he answered, "We're going back home."
"...Home?"
Yoongi was swaying and stumbling as he walked and it made Taehyung worry about the man. He let his eyes trail up and down the man's figure.
In the next minute, he bowed as he apologized to the man in advance, "Excuse my rude behavior, your highness."
Yoongi tilted his head as he looked at the man in confusion but before he could ask him anything, he felt his legs being lifted up from the ground.
Taehyung picked Yoongi up with his one hand around the man's back and his other hand under the man's lower thighs, "Hold on tight."
Yoongi was stunned but still listened to the man as he encircled his hands around Taehyung's neck.
Taehyung thought he'd look cool but maybe he had overestimated his own strength. He thought Yoongi would be as light as a feather but this was still a full-grown man, there was no way he would be light. Taehyung only walked for a few steps and he was already exhausted but when he looked back at the man's face, he was reluctant to let him down again so he pushed his exhaustion away and kept on walking at a speed that couldn't be considered fast but it couldn't be considered slow either.
He thought he would be able to avert any type of danger but when he turned a corner, he was suddenly stopped.
He looked up at the man who was standing in front of him.
Taehyung wasn't trying to look for trouble today so he decided to go around the man but the man moved along with Taehyung and blocked his path again.
