Matthew took one look at the woman and his eyes lit up. He had a plan and said, âFind a place to lock her up.â
Boyce didnât know what Matthew was thinking and objected, âWe donât have timeâ¦â.
âDo as I say.â He walked away after saying.
Boyce stood in his seat and pondered whether he had wasted his efforts to capture this woman. He was not satisfied.
Buzz, buzzâ¦
Abbottâs phone vibrated and he pulled it out of his pocket. It was a message from Matthew and he opened it immediately. He began to smile after reading the message. Now he knew what Matthew was planning to do.
He put the phone away, took a look at the woman and frowned, âThis woman is really stubborn.â
But he could understand that, since it took courage for her to instigate Benjamin to kidnap Joshua and demand company shares from Matthew as ransom.
If it hadnât been for the crisis due to Jaydenâs death, she wouldnât have had the opportunity to carry it out.
âToo bad.â Said Abbott in front of her intentionally, âWe had wasted our efforts capturing her since we canât get any information from her.â
âWhere do we lock her up, in jail?â asked Abbott to Boyce.
Boyce replied, âNot now, Jos is still in Benjaminâs hands. If we lock her up, that would be a signal to Benjamin that they have been exposed. What ifâ¦?â They were very concerned for Joshuaâs safety.
âWhy do I get the feeling that something isnât right?â Abbott sounded angry.
âI really donât think he doesnât care about his life!â Abbott was about to lash out and Boyce intervened, âSave it.â He couldnât stand aside and let Abbott commit murder.
Abbott sneered in disgust, âYou must be ruthless with a woman like that. Otherwise, sheâll think weâre soft and wonât dare act.â
âGo away all of you and leave this to me.â Abbott said as he squatted down next to the woman and continued, âYou will not be implicated by what is going to happen.â
The woman snapped and said, âHow dare you!â
âIâll show you whether I dare or not!â Abbott picked up a brick and then grabbed her finger.
âIâve heard that fingers are attached to the heart. Iâm going to see what your pain threshold is like.â
âNoâ¦noâ¦â The woman struggled but Abbott pinned her down and forced her to expose one finger. He jabbed the brick into her finger.
âArgh!â The woman screamed in pain.
Boyce and his men came out of the tower. He could act without mercy, but he was more concerned for Joshuaâs safety and didnât want to risk her by being too rough.
Abbott continued to gag the womanâs mouth and crushed one finger after another until all five fingers were a bloody mess.
âToday I want to see if you win or the brick.â Abbott tossed the broken brick aside and picked up another. He grabbed the other hand and spread the fingers apart, âIâve got all the time in the world. Letâs go have some fun.â
âMmph, mmphâ¦â The woman struggled and wanted to say something.
Abbott noticed, but ignored her. She was the type who considered herself too proud of herself and believed that nothing would be done to her since Joshua was captured by her. Not only was she carrying out Matthewâs instructions, but she also wanted to teach this woman a lesson.
Suddenly, Boyce came running up and appeared very concerned, âAbbott!â.
âWhat happened?â Abbott turned to ask.
âCome on, weâve been spotted.â He pulled Abbott as Abbott kicked him and said, âArenât you going with us?â
âNo time. With my status, Iâd be ruined if anyone found out I was here. Quickly.â Boyce used his strength to pull Abbott. Abbott pretended to be annoyed and shouted, âWeâre too nice to this bitch!â Shortly thereafter he âran awayâ with Boyce.
His footsteps slowed in the distance as another set of footsteps approached. The woman was dizzy with pain and barely saw someone familiar approaching her. Her eyes widened as she realized who it was and she began to mutter, âMmph, mmphâ¦â
Benjamin pulled the gag out of her mouth. Benjamin said he went to the bathroom and didnât come back because he couldnât find who he was looking for. Then Benjamin got a message that she was here and came immediately.
âItâs Matthewâ¦â The womanâs eyes were bloodshot, she hugged Benjamin and yelled, âYou have to get revenge for me.â
Benjamin assured, âOkay, okayâ¦â
He responded so quickly because he had been humiliated. This woman was his subordinate and was captured and tortured by Matthew. Matthew did not hold back on his account!
âQuick, take her away,â Benjamin ordered, and soon enough someone came to take the woman to the cars below. They got into the car and sped away.
A short distance away, several cars were waiting and following Benjamin. Soon Benjamin took the woman home and called the doctor to attend to her injuries. Although she was badly injured, the injuries were not life-threatening.
âIâm afraid these wounds on her face will scar her.â Said the doctor.
âI want her treated perfectly!â the woman shouted.
Benjamin appreciated her and said to the doctor, âPlease do everything you can.â The doctor nodded.
Soon, all the wounds were cleaned and treated. The woman took a look at herself in the mirror. Her face was bandaged and she said angrily, âThose animals have ruined my face!â.
Benjamin comforted her, âThey will heal.â
âJust look at my hand!â The woman held up her bandaged hand. She thought of the disrespect she had gone through and cried out, âI want revenge!â
It looked like the womanâs eyes were shooting daggers. They were full of anger. She kicked the blanket off and got off the bed.
Benjamin was surprised and asked, âYouâre hurt, where are you going?â.
âHow can I let this rest? You yourself have seen what they have done to me. I am your wife. They did it to show you. Now I want them to know that I am not easily intimidated.â She said angrily.
âDidnât you agree to meet them tonight? Iâll go with you, but first I have to go somewhere else.â
âWhere?â Benjamin sensed her motives, âYou want to go to that baby?â
âSomeone must pay for what I just suffered!â The woman said ruthlessly. âBesides, we shouldnât let that baby go even after we get what we want.â
Benjamin narrowed his eyes and asked, âWhat do you mean by that?â
âThink about it. When we give the baby back to Matthew, we wonât have anything against him anymore. Heâll come to us with everything heâs got. As long as the baby is in our hands, he wonât try anything funny. This baby is our human shield.â
âThatâs right.â Benjamin nodded.
âBenjamin, when I was captured and tortured, I didnât reveal anything because I know our situation is delicate. If I said where the baby was, then he would come after you. Thatâs why I was willing to die without telling them anything. I was just worried that they would threaten you. Benjamin, I love you. You must take revenge for me. The woman cried as she said.
Benjamin hugged the woman. It was certain that, if she revealed the babyâs whereabouts, he would lose any bargaining chip to negotiate with Matthew. Besides, Matthew would not let the matter rest just like that and would come after him with everything in his power.
He did not reveal the babyâs whereabouts even after suffering so much torture. It was clear that he had been thinking for him. Benjaminâs heart ached and he replied, âI will seek revenge for what you have suffered today.â
âNow I want to see that baby.â The woman insisted. She just wanted someone to pay for the injuries she had suffered.
She wanted Matthew to regret hurting her.
