When Boyce reached the front door of the house, he opened the door. Jasmine was standing behind him. The phone in his pocket vibrated. He pulled out the phone and Elaine was calling her. He answered the phone.
âJasmine, when are you coming back?â Jasmine brought some daily necessities to the lodge and had said she would be staying at the lodge for a few days. It was almost ten oâclock and Jasmine had not returned. So, Elaine called her.
Jasmine entered the house. She looked up and looked at Boyce. Boyce was looking at her too. He pressed his lips together and said quietly, âIâm not coming back tonight.â
âWhy?â Elaine didnât know Boyce was back. Jasmine had said that Boyce was on a business trip and wasnât home during that time period.
Jasmine said quietly, âMy husband is back.â
âOh.â Elaine pursed her lips, âThen I wonât bother you.â
After saying that, she hung up the phone. She sat on her bed in the lodge and felt envy of Jasmine in her heart. Jasmine had not graduated and had found a good man to marry. Besides, the man had a good social status and knew a lot of rich people. He could simply give Jasmine a present worth more than two thousand dollars.
She sighed. âThereâs one thing I canât envy. I have to work hard myself.â
Jasmine hung up the phone and put it back in her pocket. Boyce asked, âWho called you?â
gⱯlnÏνð®ðsâ¤com is where magic happens Jasmine walked over to the table, poured herself a glass of water and said, âMy classmate.â
After saying that, she drank the water. She turned her head and saw Boyce standing in his seat as he looked at her. She reached out her hands and touched his face, âIs there something on my face? Why are you looking at me like that?â
Boyce said nothing.
Jasmine saw that Boyceâs dirty clothes were in the hamper. She walked over to him and put his clothes in the washing machine. Other peopleâs husbands would bring some gifts to their wife after going on a business trip. He was only bringing dirty clothes.
She sighed.
When she came out, she saw that Boyce was still standing in place as he looked at her. She blinked, âDonât you want to take a shower, or do you want me to take a shower first?â
Boyce remained silent for a few seconds. He asked, âThe one who called you a moment ago, is that a boy or a girl?â Jasmine was speechless.
âIs he really entangled in this affair?
Jasmine said the words intentionally, âNot all my classmates are girls. There are boys too.â
Boyce approached her, âCanât you get too close to your male classmates?â
Obviously, Boyce was jealous. Jasmine lowered her head so he couldnât see her expression and said, âItâs not just girls in the class. I have yet to interact with male classmates. Just like you, you canât have only male classmates. There are always some female classmates and subordinates, arenât there?â.
Indeed, she did have female subordinates just as Jasmine had said. Sometimes, she had to contact them at work, âWe just have a working relationship.â
Jasmine nodded, âI know, I only have class relationships with male co-workers.â
Boyce was speechless.
âIf you donât shower, Iâll go first. Iâm tired and I want to sleep.â After saying that, Jasmine went into the bedroom and opened the closet to get her clothes.
Boyce walked into the room and took the clothes in his hands, âShower later.â
He pulled Jasmine towards the bed and sat on it. He let Jasmine sit on his lap. Jasmine obediently sat on his lap and asked, âWhatâs up?â Boyce explained, âI have female colleagues. Theyâre just my female colleagues.â
Jasmine nodded, âI believe in you.â Boyce was speechless.
He put Jasmineâs hands in his palm and said quietly, âYou and I are not the same. You are still young. You havenât met enough people and issues. Maybe you will meet someone as young as you in the futureâ¦â
Jasmine broke out of his embrace and stood up, âDo you care about me or donât you believe me?â
âNo.â Boyce immediately explained, âIâm trying to tell you that Iâve encountered the issues I should have experienced at my age. Iâm not giving up.â
Jasmine pressed her lips together and her eyes reddened, âIâm not as experienced as you are. But that doesnât mean I want other people when I meet themâ¦â
Boyce covered her mouth, âDonât talk nonsense.â
âBut you wanted to express something like that. You think youâve experienced more and could hold back when someone seduces you. And I have experienced less and would betray you when someone seduces me.â
Boyce didnât deny it. Jasmine had not yet graduated from college. She would undoubtedly meet men of similar age and background to her own. He was a little worried in his heart.
He hadnât thought about it before. This affair had made him think about it more.
As Dolores Flores had said, Jasmine was young and beautiful. What if she met a man who suited her better than him?
âIf you donât believe in me, why marry me?â Jasmine was angry as she gasped harshly. She felt aggrieved as she said, âI will find a man who suits me.â
After saying that, she took big steps to go outside. Boyce hugged her and Jasmine struggled harshly. She was angry as she beat his chest, âIf you donât believe in me, why are you marrying me? Why?â she cried and screamed hysterically.
âI was wrong.â Boyce wiped away her tears, âI believe in you. I believe in you. Youâre a good girl.â
Jasmine had tired eyes, âYou obviously suspected me.â
âI didnât suspect you. Iâm not sure myself.â Boyce said quietly.
Jasmine stopped struggling as she looked at him, âYouâre so good, why arenât you confident in yourself.â
Boyce laughed helplessly, âDonât we have an age difference?â
âBut youâre not old.â Jasmine touched his face. She looked at his face closely and thought he was handsome. She lifted her head and kissed his jaw, âYou seldom come back and make me angry.â
Boyce looked down and looked at her. Jasmine also looked at him, âLetâs not get angry in the future. Letâs trust each other, okay?â.
Boyce nodded. He reached out his hands and pulled her head into his embrace, âThis time itâs all my fault. Next time Iâll do my best.â
Jasmine smiled. She still had some tear in her eyes. Her cheek rubbed against his chest, âYouâve been gone for almost a monthâ¦â
