Jasmine was very anxious. After entering the room, she realized that Boyce was actually there and then turned her gaze to the Director of the Research Department who was sitting across the table from her.
It was obvious that he was the person who had been questioning Boyce.
He said no unnecessary words and got to the point. He asked, âIs there a law that states that college students cannot marry?â
The principal replied, ââ¦No.â
âIs there a law that couples with large age differences between them cannot marry?â
The principal answered, ââ¦No.â
Jasmine asked again, âIs there a law that states that government officials cannot marry university students?â.
The principal replied, âErmâ¦. as long as their ages are appropriate and the two of them are in love, no one can interfere with their decision to marry, except their parents.â
Jasmine pulled out her marriage certificate and handed it to the principal, âIs it illegal for Boyce and I to get married?â The principal did not answer her question.
âJasmine.â Boyce walked over to her and tugged at her, âDonât be agitated.â
âHow can I not be agitated? On what grounds are they arresting you? You have worked diligently â why should they slander you?â Jasmine still remembered the horrible words those people had said when they took him away.
âHe and I are married. Is this considered a problem of inappropriate behavior? Doesnât he have the right to get married?â Jasmineâs words were blunt.
The director smiled, âIâm so sorry. We have not investigated this clearly. Actually, we asked Mr. Shawn to come here so he could answer our questions. Mr. Shawn has already explained the situation to us.â
He showed her the marriage certificate Boyce provided, âYou can see that we already know that he and you are a legally married couple. There are no issues of inappropriate behavior.â
Jasmine looked at the marriage certificate in her hand, raised her head and looked at Boyce. Her face reddened inexplicably. Actually, she had already explained the situation.
âStill, Iâve said a lot of things here.â
âI feel so embarrassed all of a sudden.â
Boyce took the marriage certificate from the headmaster and handed it to Jasmine, âYou should keep mine too.â Jasmine lowered her head.
The director smiled, âYou have a strong personality. You have done this for your husband. Donât feel ashamed. Your intentions are honorable.â
Boyce put his arm around Jasmineâs shoulder, âSheâs never faced this kind of situation before. Sheâs quite shockedâ¦â
âI can see sheâs very brave,â the director said with a smile on his face.
âShe was too anxious. I donât want her to get into trouble because of me,â Jasmine said.
The director laughed, âOkay.â He extended his hand in Boyceâs direction, âYou have to invite me to the wedding ceremony.â Boyce said he definitely would.
After exchanging greetings, they left the Research Department.
Jasmine and Boyce intertwined their fingers. She said, âI was so shocked.â
Boyce comforted her, âItâs all right now.â
He never thought Jasmine would arrive so soon.
He knew she was really worried about him.
His gaze toward Jasmine became softer.
Armand glanced at them, snorted coldly, and walked over to the car in front of them, âDo you two still want to sit in my car?â
Boyce said they would definitely sit in his car.
They drove him there. He didnât drive there, so they had to return using Armandâs car.
âBoyce, you are really capable. You tricked Jasmine into marrying you and kept the affair from all of us.â
Jasmine pursed her lips and smiled faintly, âIâm the one who tricked her into marrying me.â
Armand curved his lip, âYou are very protective of him. Men canât be pampered. If you pamper him like that, you will suffer in the future.â
âI will pamper my man. Even if he suffers in the future, Iâm willing to do it,â Jasmine said.
She liked Boyce.
She liked being nice to him.
In his mind, Boyce thought, âArmand, you rascal. You donât succeed in provoking a quarrel between the two of us, do you?
âYour own relationship is unsuccessful. Seeing that others have successful relationships, youâre jealous, arenât you?
âI often hear it said that women who date donât have intelligence. I think this statement is absolutely true.â Armand started the car.
Jasmine laughed, âIâm not dating. Iâm already married to someone.â
Armand didnât respond to her words.
âYou should both get out of my car. Youâre both very annoying.â Armand thought he was the most miserable person, âClearly Iâve found my true love before Boyce has found his true love.
Why am I in the worst situation in the end?
What kind of sins did I commit in my past life? Why am I living such a difficult life?
Both Jasmine and Boyce knew what Armand was thinking. They both laughed at the same time.
âYou both keep laughing. If you both keep laughing, Iâll throw you both out of the car.â Armand pretended to be fierce.
Boyce looked at him calmly, âIf your jealousy is too intense, it will hurt your body.â
Armand snorted coldly, âIâm going to live a short life. Iâm living in misery these daysâ.
âHow am I going to live a long life?
âIf I donât die soon, itâs already a good thing.â
âYouâre a fool, too. You shouldnât have told Mrs. Bernie the truth that time. In the future, after you and Theresa get married, the two of you can adopt a child. Then everything will be fine,â Boyce said.
âHow can things be so easy?â Armand had thought of that method, âI know my grandmother very well. She wants a great-grandchild with all her soul. If Theresa and I have a relationship, sheâs sure to nag her every day. Considering Theresaâs state of health, will she be able to handle the daily nagging?â
After some thought, Boyce thought that what Armand had said made sense. If Theresa couldnât have children and Mrs. Bernie kept urging her to have them every day, she would be very depressed.
âSince youâre being frank with her now, wonât she have a hard time accepting that?â said Boyce.
Armand said, âIf gentle methods donât work, Iâm willing to go back to aggressive methods.â
Boyce asked, âHow aggressive do you want to be â can you be more aggressive than Grandma?â
âI will threaten her with my life. Iâll see if she can be more aggressive than me.â
Boyce even gave him a thumbs up, âYou talk aggressive!â.
Armand looked at Boyceâs reflection in the rearview mirror, âYou can lose it. Stop making snide remarks.â
âHave you noticed?â Boyce laughed.
