The room was next to Matthewâs, where Emma planned to frame Matthew.
The door wasnât locked properly when Boyce came out to check what had happened. Emma was able to push directly on the door to open it.
Emma was calm. She didnât seem surprised to see them.
She knew Abbott had sold her out and had told Matthew of her plans.
She expected anything to happen.
Abbott picked up his phone. He wanted to call Emma and tell her that Matthew was drunk. She wanted to ask and see when Emma planned to send a woman to Matthewâs room.
But Emma showed up at the door.
Abbott stared at Emma with a surprised look on his face, âWhyâ¦?â.
Emma laughed, âAbbott, are you still planning on hiding the truth that you sold out your boss?â
Boyce turned and looked at Abbott as if to ask what had happened.
Emma ignored Abbottâs pale expression and asked Matthew, âHave you ever doubted anything Abbott said to you? Iâll tell you one thing. Abbott and I work together. You should see it by now. He bought time, and I went to the hospital to see your wifeâ¦â
âWhat did you do?â Matthew sounded angry.
âAccording to our plan, Abbott would buy time and I, of course, am going to do things that are unfavorable to you. But I regret it. You never finish taking revenge. So I decided not to take revenge on you,â Emma looked at Abbott. She smiled and turned around, then greeted Matthew, âMr. Nelson, how does it feel to be betrayed by people you trust?â Matthew didnât buy his story right away.
Abbott was in no hurry to explain himself, because he now saw everything clearly.
Abbott told Matthew about Emmaâs plan, and she knew about it. Therefore, she knew what could happen today. Therefore, she didnât need to bring in the woman who planned to frame Matthew. Emma went along with Abbottâs plan and told Matthew that they were working together, and then confronted them.
galnovâ¯âsâ¤com keeps you updated Abbott wondered. Did Emma hear him when she called Matthew?
âAbbott, this is the end of our partnership. Goodbye,â Emma smiled. She waved to Abbott and left the room afterward.
âDid you work with Emma?â asked Boyce to Abbott.
Abbott looked at Boyce and said to Matthew, âI didnât.â
Matthew didnât mean to make a big deal out of it, but he was cold: âYouâve been cheated on by a woman. Shame on you.â
The truth had come out. Emma knew that Abbott had told Matthew the plan. Matthew thought Abbott was sure to get the truth from Emma. Thatâs why they had a setup today.
Who was to know that Abbott had been duped?
He was a fool who let himself be fooled by a woman, not just once but twice. Matthew almost wanted to question Abbott about his IQ.
âIâm sorryâ¦â
Abbott didnât know that Emma didnât trust him at all. It was his mistake.
âWrap everything up here. I have to go now,â Matthew was worried. He needed to visit Dolores in the hospital.
Matthew didnât believe what Emma said.
Boyce said, âGo. Weâre on it.â
Boyce also understood what was going on.
Abbott thought he had fooled Emma, but Emma didnât trust him and was using him to put on a show.
Boyce patted Abbottâs shoulder and comforted him.
Abbott was embarrassed. He had been cheated on twice by the same woman. It was humiliating.
Suddenly, Abbottâs phone rang in his pocket.
He pulled it out of his pocket and picked up the phone.
Emmaâs voice came up from the other end of the phone, âAbbottâ¦â
âEmma!â Abbott was furious. This woman was his undoing.
She was making him make mistakes over and over again.
Emma had this plan in her mind when she went to see Dolores. At first she thought she had done her father and brother a wrong by leaving the country just like that.
But after talking to Dolores, Emma felt less guilty. She no longer felt selfish in giving up revenge.
Emma gave up revenge, but she wanted Abbott to pay for what he did.
Emma could never make Abbott fall in love with her, not even her body.
Abbottâs loyalty was with Matthew.
Emma stood in the exit vestibule. She glanced at the sky through the lobby window. It was the last time she would look at this city, âAbbott, you lied to me. So I have to send you a present too, do you like it?â
Abbott clenched his fists and gritted his teeth, âYouâre proud of your plans, huh?â
Emma laughed, but soon stopped, âAbbott, you lied to me and I used you. Now weâre even. Iâll leave you alone from now on.â
Emma took a deep breath, âBefore I go, I have to tell you this. Iâm pregnant.â
âStop lying to me. Tell me, what do you want this time?â
Emma paused and then laughed, âI just wanted to piss you off.â
âEmma!â
Abbott snapped angrily.
Emma laughed as she heard Abbottâs fierce voice, âGoodbye, Abbott.â
She hung up the phone and turned it off. Then she grabbed her luggage and walked into the gate without hesitation.
Goodbye, Abbott. Goodbye to everything.
It should all end now. Emma should live her own life, just like Abbott said.
So she left everything, including Abbott.
Abbott immediately called Emma, but all she heard was, âWeâre sorry, the person you called is not available. Please try again later. Weâre sorryâ¦â
Abbott hung up the phone and thought, âEmma turned her phone off?â. Abbott canât help but feel the urge to go see Emma now.
âTake care of the rest. I have to go now,â then, Abbott rushed out of the room.
Boyce was stunned. Well, he had to do everything.
â¦
At the hospital.
Matthew saw a bouquet of flowers on the table when he arrived at the hospital. He frowned and asked, âWhere did they come from?â
