The principal’s daughter was standing in the hallway in front of the door. While she wasn’t paying attention, she heard the door open and immediately peeked out. Just as she wanted to greet Wendy, Wendy had already run out.

He stared at Wendy’s back and his eyebrows raised slightly, “Are they arguing?”.

Then he looked back into the room, but did not take the initiative to enter. It looked like it was an unpleasant conversation.

After about twenty minutes, the director finished the meeting and came in from across the hall, seeing his daughter standing in the doorway. He asked, “Why are you standing here?”

His daughter smiled, “You have a guest.”

The director nodded as if he knew who it was.

Boyce had contacted him earlier.

“You know someone is coming to see you?” his daughter asked.

The principal admitted as much.

Following her father into the office, she picked up the bag on the couch and said, “I’ll go first, since you have work to do now.”

The director waved his hand, “Both of you and Nicolas, come home tonight for dinner.”

Nicolas was the director’s son-in-law. The director missed his daughter, so he asked her and his son-in-law to come home for dinner.

His daughter waved and acknowledged that he then left the office and closed the door.

Boyce stood up and the director motioned for him to sit down. He walked over to the office desk and sat down. He picked up the thermos on the table and took a sip of water before speaking, “Are you talking about the student?”

Boyce walked over and said, “Her name is Jasmine, you should get an impression of her.”

The principal did have an impression of her, and looked at Boyce as if remembering that the student was the one having a scandal with him at the time.

“Do you really have a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship with her?” the principal asked.

Boyce replied, “Yes.”

“Why are you here today even though she has already dropped out of school?” The principal folded his arms on his desk.

“I’m not sure I understand why she has dropped out of school.”

“I heard from her teacher, who was responsible for her, that she left school because of family issues.”

“Her mother passed away and there was no one to bury her, so she came back to bury her mother, as her mother was her only family member. The reason she made the wrong decision was that she was too upset at the time and could not accept the fact for a while. So, I hope I can give her another chance, it is not easy for her to enter this university and be accepted.”

The director considered this for a few moments: “I have read her file and she has done well, except for the scandal with you. However, it really isn’t good behavior for her to decide to drop out.”

Boyce replied, “Of course, we all know it’s not right. Please give her another chance.”

“Well, I can give her another chance for the sake of Officer Miller and you, plus her good studies. However, this will be the only time. Otherwise, no matter how good his grades are, but his behavior is bad, we won’t give him another chance ever again.” The director was a sensible man as he understood that the relationship between Boyce and Officer Miller was close, in addition to the fact that he and Officer Miller had a good relationship.

Considering their relationship, he readily agreed.

Boyce thanked the director.

The principal asked Jasmine to come in early to introduce herself to the teacher who would be taking care of her.

Boyce agreed.

After talking with the principal for a while longer, mostly about Jasmine, the principal finally said, “Please help me say hello to your boss.”

Boyce agreed. He then headed straight from the school to the villa. When he returned, he met Matthew Nelson and Dolores Flores, who were outside and about to leave for the airport.

Boyce helped the driver put the luggage in the trunk and said, “Let me take you to the airport.”

Dolores turned him down and asked, “Have you resolved the problem between you and Wendy?”

“Yes, she’s agreed to break up peacefully,” Boyce replied.

Dolores was surprised that it had been resolved so quickly, she had thought Wendy would upset Boyce and not let him leave.

But on second thought, Wendy might be embarrassed to keep bothering since Boyce had learned the real reason for their divorce.

“Jasmine is the only one in the villa, you can go in,” Dolores told Boyce.

Neither Jayden Nelson nor Kevin Forbis were home, and Coral had gone to the supermarket.

“We don’t have time, let’s get out first.”

The driver opened the back seat door and Matthew shielded Dolores’ head and told her to be careful and not to hit her head. Dolores bent down to get into the car. Matthew didn’t get in immediately, but gave Boyce a look and said, “Contact me anytime.”

“You can go with no worries,” Boyce said.

Matthew trusted Boyce’s ability; he nodded his head and bent down to get into the car.

After watching the car drive away, Boyce went into the house while Jasmine cleared the table. When he heard the sound of the door, he thought Dolores had forgotten something. He looked up and asked her, “What did you…?”

Before she could finish the sentence, she had already realized that the person who had entered was Boyce, not Dolores. Then she put the rag down in her hand and walked over, “Why are you coming back at this hour?”

Boyce said, “I only come back when I finish my work.”

“You just left…”

“I know, since I just greeted them at the door.” Boyce looked at her. Although Jasmine had been raised in a bad family, her heart was untainted. It was pure and very rare.

Boyce wrapped his arms around her and said, “Jasmine, let’s get married.”

Jasmine froze for a moment, hugged him back, and asked, “Have you thought this through?”

Boyce replied, “Yes, I have thought it through clearly. As for school, you may be going back to class soon. If you think it’s too soon, I can wait until you graduate…”

“I want to marry you.” Jasmine wrapped her neck tightly around his neck, “I don’t want to wait any longer and I’m afraid of any change.”

Boyce also kept her in mind before proposing to her, he was afraid that there would be some misunderstanding and people would spread the rumors and it would shock her.

Jasmine had reached adulthood. Once married, their relationship would be legal and no one could say anything.

Jasmine suddenly let go of him and asked if he knew why Dolores had left.

Boyce shook his head and said, “I’m not quite sure.”

“I know, it seems to be related to her pregnancy. The doctor is calling for an early delivery, but they’re not comfortable with it, so they decide to go overseas, to a hospital with more authority, for a check-up.” He heard her because Dolores and Matthew spoke without deliberately avoiding her.

Boyce finally understood why Matthew had decided to go abroad at that moment. He took a deep breath, he could only wish them well and all he could do was help him take care of his family.

“I don’t need to go back to the office. Later, let’s pick up the two children from school together. You’ve been here for two days, you should know them by now.”

Jasmine nodded, “Yes, but you don’t need to pick up the children. The job has already been taken over by someone else.”

Both Jayden and Kevin were responsible for the two children and normally the others couldn’t interfere.

“Isn’t the office busy?” asked Jasmine.

Boyce said, “I just got back, so I’m not busy these two days.”

Jasmine said, “Then let’s cook dinner together.”

She pulled Boyce towards the kitchen, Boyce rubbed his nose, “You know I don’t know how to cook.”

Jasmine turned her head to look at him, she suddenly stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek. She said with a smile, “Then watch me do it.”

Boyce froze for a moment and reached out to touch her face.”

Jasmine liked the way he was stunned, it was so cute. She said mischievously, “Look at you, it’s just a kiss. No, I’ll let you kiss me too.”

Boyce always felt guilty in front of Jasmine, as he felt he was committing a crime by getting too close to her.

Jasmine knew what made Boyce uncomfortable, so she didn’t continue to tease him. Then she said with a smile, “Come and help me peel the lotus root.”

Boyce said, “Sure.”

Jasmine handed him the paring knife, Boyce took it and asked, “How do you want to cook the lotus root?”

“I’m going to make lotus root balls for the two children.” Jasmine lowered her head as she cut the meat.

The pork chosen for the lotus root balls had to be both fatty and lean, and it had to be minced. The lotus root had to be mixed with the minced meat. The next step was to form the balls and steam them in the dishes.

Next, he boiled the soup and put some shrimp, vegetables, nori and the steamed lotus root balls in it. After adding some sesame oil, the lotus root balls with nori soup was ready. It contained the fresh taste of shrimp and nori, while the vegetable contained vitamins. Without adding too many ingredients, the soup had a light taste, and was very suitable for summer, as it was healthy and delicious.

“Do you also know how to cook dishes like this?” Boyce thought she only knew how to cook a few simple dishes.

Jasmine said, “Coral taught me how to cook and said both children liked this dish.”

Boyce looked at her, “Do they like it very much?”

Jasmine lowered her face, rubbed her lotus roots with a washcloth and said, “Of course, I know they are very attached to you. I will treat everyone around you well. But’ besides, the two of you are funny.”

They were always noisy, and their existence had enlivened this village.

At first, I was afraid of feeling uncomfortable here. However, after spending some time together, she found them all to be friendly and pleasant to deal with, even if they were of unusual wealth and social status.

Boyce leaned against the sink as he watched her. Looking at Jasmine, who was eloquent, and her face serene, unbeknownst to him, a smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

At the hospital…

After Elizabeth fell and was taken to the hospital, the doctor checked that there were no serious injuries. Once Armand rushed back from C-Town, he immediately went to the hospital.

Elizabeth was lying on the bed. She was happy to see her grandson, but at the same time she was heartbroken.

Worrying about her grandson’s marriage decision had turned into anguish for her.

Elizabeth took Armand’s hand, “Tell me I can see you married and let me see my grandson while I am still alive.”
