Emma shrugged and held up her hands, âSince you donât care, Iâll go get an abortion.â
She turned and left after saying that. Abbott stood in place for two seconds before stepping forward and stopping her, âYouâre kidding me, right?â.
âYou think a woman who just lost her father and whose brother was in jail is going to make a joke like that? All I want is to get back at the people who got them in trouble.â said Emma sternly.
Abbott sneered, âIs the whole Bailey Family dead? What are you, a woman, doing out here?â
âAbbott!â rebuked Emma.
Abbott ignored her and continued speaking, âItâs because theyâre still kind. They can clearly tell right from wrong. Only you people are crazy and obsessed with revenge.â
âAbbott, you asshole!â Emma disregarded his image and punched him.
Abbott didnât move and let her hit him. He would never hit a woman, even if in his mind he wished he could.
Dolores had been listening to him for a while and had probably understood what was going on. She didnât get out of the car to reveal it. She did, however, call Matthew.
By this time he was inside the private room.
Mr. Thompson had already learned of the situation from the doctor who examined Dolores. He had also reviewed the report and had assembled subject matter experts to investigate.
âBased on your wifeâs condition, it will be advisable to deliver in seven and a half months. If you are concerned about your babyâs health, let her stay in the hospital and we will observe her condition daily. She can make it to eight months at the most.â
Matthew rested his forehead on his hand, dissatisfied with that solution.
âActually, your wife is not fit to have another child. By this medical checkup, her body is considered weak.â Mr. Thompson leaned his body back, âFor the safety of the adult, a premature delivery is the most conservative option.â
Buzzâ¦
Matthewâs phone rang in his pocket at that moment. He pulled it out and glanced at the contact notification before picking it up.
âWhen are you going to be done?â asked Dolores.
âIâll be out soon,â Matthew said.
Dolores replied âokayâ and hung up the phone.
Matthew stood up and stated that he had something else to do. He thanked Mr. Thompson for the appointment.
Mr. Thompson also got up, âYou are welcome. Your father and I are old acquaintances. Weâll do our best and thatâs the best we can get at this time.â
He pulled a name card out of his pocket and handed it to Matthew, âThis is an old acquaintance we studied together before. Heâs now the attending physician at Mayo Medical Center. You can go to him if you need to.â
Matthew reached out to take the card with his name on it and said, âThank you.â
âYouâre welcome.â
Matthew offered to shake her hand, âI took up your time today. Iâll buy you dinner next time youâre free.â
Mr. Thompson graciously accepted and Matthew escorted him out. Matthew also left after seeing him get into his car.
He walked to the car that was parked on the side of the road. Then, he opened the car door and asked, âWhatâs wrong?â.
Dolores walked over to give him a seat. She replied, âNothing much, I saw Abbott with a woman just now.â
Matthew sat down and closed the car door. He asked, âWhat woman?â
Dolores told the truth and then asked him, âDo you know?â.
Matthew seemed to instantly understand why Abbott had been unusual. It turned out he was with Emma.
It was no wonder he wanted to resign.
He told the driver, âGo to the company.â
After saying that, he called Abbott and told him to go back to the company.
At the time, Abbott and Emma were on their way to the hospital. Abbott didnât believe he had gotten her pregnant. So he forced himself on her and dragged her to the hospital for a checkup.
Emma didnât want to go, but Abbott was too strong. She tried to fight, but she couldnât escape. She was escorted by him to a cab. Halfway there, Abbottâs phone rang and it was Matthew calling him to come back to the company.
Emma took the opportunity to escape from the car as Abbott was answering the call and the driver was waiting for the traffic light.
Was she going to go to the hospital with an empty belly? Wouldnât that be exposing herself?
âEmma!â shouted Abbott angrily. Emma ran quickly as she feared Abbott would chase her again.
Abbottâs head ached as he took a look at the bag he had left on the car seat.
This woman was simply a demon.
The cab driver asked him, âAre you still going?â.
Abbott sat back in the cab and said, âGo to WY Group.â
The cab driver soon drove off and headed for the WY Group.
Abbott paid and got out of the cab when he arrived. The driver reminded him, âDonât forget anything.â
Abbott glanced at the bag Emma had left on the car seat and hesitated for two seconds. He reached out and picked it up. After closing the car door, he headed down the hall. She stopped walking when she saw Boyceâs car pull into the parking lot.
Boyce parked his car and opened the car door. He then walked toward Abbott and asked, âWhy are you standing here?â
Abbott replied, âIâm waiting for you.â
âLetâs go in together.â Boyce put his hand on Abbottâs shoulder and looked at the female purse in his hand. Boyce asked, âYour girlfriendâs purse?â
Abbott looked down and said, âItâs a crazy womanâs.â Boyce laughed gently and didnât ask any more questions.
Abbott asked as he stepped into the elevator, âWhy are you here, is something wrong?â
Boyce said that Matthew had asked him to come.
Matthew was taking Dolores overseas and wouldnât be in the country for a while. So he wanted to ask Boyce to look after his family. After all, he was a little worried since there were old people and children at home.
Abbott said, âCoincidentally, it is also Mr. Nelson who has asked me to come, is there anything to announce?â
