Abbott walked out of the office and closed the door behind him. He lowered his head and glanced at the number in his hand, and the expression on his face became instantly horrible.
He didnât need to check the number; he knew who had done it.
âMr. Baron.â The clerk came out of the pantry and waved as he saw Abbott.
Abbott was so deep in thought that he didnât notice anyone coming. When suddenly someone approached him and spoke to him, he was startled.
âWhy are you here?â
âWhy canât I be here? What are you giving? Why are you so engrossed with that thing in your hand?â As he said that, the secretary glanced at the paper in his hand.
Abbott covered the paper and said, âWhat are you looking at? Get back to work.â
The secretary gave him a glance, âDo you think I want to see it? I can see by your pale face that it must be an annoying task.â
Abbott immediately touched his face and said, âMy face doesnât look good.â The secretary ignored him and returned to her seat with her water.
Abbott asked no more questions and headed for the elevator. Then, he looked around and made sure no one was around him. He then quickly ran to the stairs, pulled out his phone and dialed.
The call went through, but no one answered the call. Abbott called back with a somber face.
After the third call, the call went through.
Abbott questioned the other party angrily, âWhat are you trying to do?â
âWhy are you so angry? Iâm swimming, so I donât have the phone with me. Do you have to be so fierce? Youâre scaring me.â Emma was covered with a white towel, sitting in an armchair.
She touched her feet and said, âWhy are you so anxious, do you need something from me?â
Abbott gritted his teeth: âYou know what youâve done!â.
Emma laughed, âI really donât know what youâre talking about. But if you mean texting your bossâs wife, I admit it was me. So what do you want me to do now?â
âStop it!â
âFine. But youâll have to ask your boss to meet me at the Hyatt Hotel. Then, Iâll stopâ¦â
âIn your dreams!â Abbott abruptly interrupted her before Emma could finish her sentence.
Emma ruffled her hair, âIf you disagree, then tell me the daily whereabouts of your boss. Iâm also going to keep texting his wife. If I remember correctly, your wife is going to give birth, isnât she? I wonder if anything will happen to her if she gets too upsetâ¦â
âStop it!â Abbott shouted angrily, âWhat exactly do you want?â
âWhat do I want?â Emma laughed, then suddenly said in a cold tone, âHe killed my father and put my brother in jail, what do you think I want?â
âYou have only yourselves to blame for that!â
âAbbott, are you going to deny the relationship between us?â
âYou set me upâ¦â
âEven if I had set you up, that doesnât hide the fact that you slept with me. I have video evidence, it just shows your face and your naked body. If I sell it to a porn website or the media, I can probably get a good price for it. You can become famous tooâ¦â
âEmma Bailey!â Abbott was so eager until his face turned pale. If he could, he would really want to strangle this woman to death.
He never thought he would be drugged when he went to the bar for a drink. Besides, he slept with this woman without knowing it. Nothing would happen if it was a normal one-night stand. Who knew, this woman took a ânaked pictureâ and video of him and even used them to threaten him.
Emma really wanted to attack Matthew. But she really couldnât find an opportunity; therefore, she could only target the people next to him.
She had also considered Armand before. But after much observation, she realized that Armand was not an easy target, and even if she had succeeded, it would not be an easy task to threaten him.
In the end, he took aim at Abbott.
Abbott tried to calm down, âLetâs meet and talk first.â
Emma smiled and asked, âDo you miss me?â
Abbott gripped his phone tightly, âCut the crap. Letâs meet at the bar from last time.â
âOkay,â Emma replied.
Abbott hung up the phone, gently opened the stairwell door and cautiously looked outside. When he was sure no one was there, he quickly exited and rode the elevator down. After exiting the company building, he headed for the bar where he had met Emma last time.
Emma arrived even before he did. When he arrived at the bar, Emma was already waiting for him there.
She was wearing a black strapless dress and crossed her legs, sitting on the seat of the sofa. Abbot quickly stepped forward, grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her toward a booth.
Emma patted his chest and giggled, âWhy so eagerâ¦â
âCan you have a little dignity?â Abbott gritted his teeth.
Emma laughed, âIs Lord Baron a gentleman now? You were pretty wild when you slept with me.â
Abbott gritted his teeth, âTell me. What do I have to do to get you to destroy those things?â
Emma withdrew her hand, advanced to the couch and sat down. Then, she bent down and poured herself a glass of wine from the table. She elegantly held the wine glass in her hand and swung it gently, âWhat do you think, am I short of money or short of men?â
Abbott said nothing, but stared at her.
As the saying goes, the more beautiful women are, the more dangerous they are. This could be true. The woman in front of him is very poisonous. Once infected, he would be endlessly tortured even if he didnât die from the poison!
âI have only one motive. She has destroyed my family, so I want her to suffer as much as I did.â Emma suddenly raised her head, and her eyes were sharp as blades, âMr. Baron, if your father and brother die and go to prison, what will you do, just pretend it never happened?â
âNone of that will happen if they are good people. They can only blame themselves for what happened to them, so how could you blame others for it? Your brother could have left the country and lived a free life abroad, but instead he made trouble for himself, so who can save him? You are just a woman, so how can you seek revenge? Other than selling your body, what else can you do?
Abbott tried to convince Emma: âLet it be. You have your own life to live. Why do you want to ruin your own life for them? I know my boss well and Iâm pretty sure youâll be no match for him. If he knows youâre the one behind this, you wonât be able to escape so easily!â
