The content was [Good morning!]

Dolores stared at these words. She was thinking if last night’s message was a joke or a random message sent by someone.

So what did this one from this morning mean?

After Matthew helped his daughter wash her face, he went outside and saw Dolores standing by the bed as she looked at her phone. Matthew then approached her.

Dolores was deeply immersed in her thoughts and did not notice that Matthew was already standing behind her. She was surprised when Matthew asked her who had sent her a message.

“Why are you walking quietly?” Dolores put her hand over her heart, which was still pounding.

Matthew gave her a look, “It’s not that I’m walking without a sound. It’s just that you’re too engrossed. Who sent you the message?”

Good morning?

Who?

Charles White?

Had he still not given up on Dolores by now?

Matthew looked at her, “Why aren’t you saying anything?”.

Dolores scrolled to the last message and pursed her lips, “That’s strange. There are unknown messages from last night. What does this person want and what does he intend to do?”.

Matthew picked up his phone and scrolled through the messages. Then, he frowned as he seemed to be surprised as well.

“Have you been fooling around with girls outside?” Dolores frowned as she didn’t suspect him on purpose. However, she couldn’t imagine who would do that with a proper reason.

Matthew looked at her and said nothing. He forwarded the contact number from his phone to his own phone, “I’ll find out. Don’t overthink it.”

Dolores looked down, “I’m not overthinking it. I’m just feeling a little uneasy, who would?”

“I’ll find out.” Matthew’s tone was serious, with imperceptible annoyance.

He had been in a good mood this morning. However, he couldn’t calm down after encountering such a situation.

He was very afraid that something would happen again. Fortunately, the Boyce matter was resolved without a problem this time, but what about next time?

“How is Declan now?” Dolores asked.

It was him again.

“He’s been sentenced to prison.” Declan had been completely ruined. At first he’d had a chance to go abroad and avoid prison. Now, he was seeking his own death and no one could save him anymore.

Dolores looked down, “Then it won’t be him.”

Matthew told her not to think about it anymore, “I’ll find out. Your daughter is hungry. Let’s go downstairs and eat.”

Dolores nodded and reached up to stroke her daughter’s face, “Bring Andrew today. He can play with her too. She’s so lonely with no one home all of a sudden.”

Earlier, Theresa, Jayden and Kevin were home. But now, they were all gone and the village suddenly became so quiet.

At first, Matthew wanted to bring Amanda into the company, as it might be good for her recovery by getting along with more people. However, he abandoned the idea of bringing his daughter to the company after receiving those unknown messages.

The main goal now was to find out who had sent those strange messages to Dolores’ phone.

“I’ll look into it after lunch,” Matthew said.

Dolores nodded in agreement.

The house had been cleaned by Coral, but there was still a faint smell of alcohol. Matthew then asked Coral to open the windows to ventilate.

Coral said, “The windows are open. It may take some time for the smell to go away.”

“If you don’t get used to the smell, stay upstairs.” Matthew raised his eyes and glanced at Dolores.

She didn’t have much of an appetite as she chewed the food in her mouth bit by bit.

Perhaps, she was thinking about something and didn’t pay attention to Matthew’s words.

So she didn’t answer either.

Matthew gave her a glance.

He knew that even she had promised not to think about it anymore, but she must have been thinking about it over and over again in her mind.

He sighed, “Why can’t you listen to me?”

“Huh?”

Dolores came to her senses and didn’t hear clearly what he had said.

Matthew also lost his appetite and waited for Dolores to finish eating.

Then, he let Dolores take care of Amanda.

She left the villa to look for Andrew.

Incidentally, she also took Jayden and Kevin to the villa. So there was someone in the house who could help Dolores take care of Amanda.

Since Amanda wouldn’t even stay with Coral, only Dolores could take care of her alone when he was away. It was inconvenient for Dolores to take care of Amanda with her big belly.

At nine o’clock, Matthew brought them back home.

“Mom!” Andrew ran over and lay on her lap as he gave his sister a look, “Still not well?”

Dolores reached out and stroked his forehead, “Yes, that’s why I called you to play with your sister.”

Andrew had always been sensible and obedient. He nodded vigorously and then continued talking to his sister, “Amanda, I have something for you, do you want to see it?”

Amanda blinked and said nothing.

Andrew was not discouraged and continued to prompt her to speak, “You don’t really want to see it, then I’ll give it to someone else?” Amanda remained silent.

It seemed that the toys could not tempt her. Amanda went to bring the full set of toys for the playhouse.

In fact, they planned to return, even if Matthew didn’t bring them from the mansion today. Yesterday they had bought all these toys for her.

Amanda had always wanted to play house, but Andrew had always felt childish and unwilling to play.

His sister was scared to the point of mental illness this time, so he gave in just to get his sister back on her feet quickly. He was willing to do anything for her.

Jayden came over, “Amanda, come hug Grandpa.”

Amanda stepped into Dolores’ arms. She showed her reluctance with her action.

“Grandpa, let’s go play house together.” Andrew pulled Jayden to sit on the rug while Kevin joined Cotton.

Amanda blinked at them. Andrew laid out the toys nicely, especially the kitchen toys, which included all kinds of ingredients, pots and pans for chopping and sautéing. She had always wanted to play house like a princess living inside.

After a while, she took the initiative to break free from Dolores’ embrace and join them. Dolores let out a sigh of relief.

It was good to see that she had finally changed slightly. Even though she still wasn’t talking, she was willing to play with the others.

On the other hand, Matthew walked into his office and made an internal phone call after arriving at the company, “Tell Abbott to come to my office.”

“Okay, Mr. Nelson.”

He unbuttoned his suit and sat down at his desk.

After Abbott got the call from the secretary, he went to Matthew’s office. When he reached the door, he did not knock immediately, but stood at the door for a moment before raising his hand to knock.

Soon Matthew’s voice was heard.

Abbott pushed open the door and entered.

“You go and look into this number for me.”

Matthew handed Abbott the phone number that sent messages to Dolores.

Abbott took it and said as he lowered his head, “Okay.”

“Wait…”

Just as Abbott was about to leave, Matthew stopped him, “Why have you been so tired lately?”

It was unusual for Abbott to look off and feel down.

Abbott shook his head, “No.”

“I’ll give you an extra week of annual leave this year.” Matthew flipped through the document on his desk that required his signature.

Abbott struggled because he wanted to tell him something, but didn’t know how to say it. Finally, he said, “Thank you, Mr. Nelson.”
