Boyce was surprised, âWhy are you here?â
Armand finally looked at him again and asked rhetorically, âCanât I come here?â.
Boyce denied and said to Jasmine, âWait for me here.â And he left.
Armand didnât move, however, and her eyes lingered on him for a moment, âNo wonder you can stay outside. So thereâs a beautiful woman with you.â
Boyce knew Armand was like that, and did not hesitate to tease him upon learning of his relationship with Jasmine.
He pulled him aside and asked solemnly, âIâm serious, how did you find your way here?â
âYou called back â how could I not track your location? Besides, Dolores thought you were hurting for her and Matthew. She was worried about you and couldnât let you go. She asked me to come take a look at you. Originally, it was Matthew who was going to come, but Simona was so scared that she wasnât in a good mood, so Matthew couldnât leave her side. And so, I came. I thought you would be scarred, dying and suffering. I didnât expect you to have a good life here. How did you bring Jasmine here too?â
Boyce explained roughly, âShe came here after she left B-town. It was a coincidence that I met her.â
âA coincidence?â Armand had a flirtatious smile as he mulled over his word, âA coincidence? I think itâs more like fate.â
Boyce frowned, âWhat nonsense are you talking?â
Armand laughed, âIs it nonsense?â.
Boyce didnât bother him and walked over to the stone bar under the tree and sat down. Armand followed him, âDonât forget thereâs still a woman waiting for you in B-Town.â
Armand sat down next to him and gave him a look.
Boyce didnât forget, âI was just about to go back to settle this matter.â
Armand jumped up in surprise and asked, âWhat did you say, youâre going back?â
Boyce nodded.
Armand scoffed, âAre you out of your mind?â
He calmed down a bit and turned to Boyce, âFrom what Iâve observed, Miss Miller will never let you go if you come back alive. She was obsessed with you, and how is she going to let you go easily?â.
Boyce pursed his lips. He had to give her an explanation, since he was the one who had promised her.
Armand knew it was about his supposed sense of responsibility, but he was too ignorant when it came to women.
He sat down and analyzed with Boyce, âHereâs the thing. Youâve already brought Miss Miller to me and Matthew to see her, which shows that youâve already recognized her identity, and so youâve introduced her to us as well. So, since you are now in a relationship with her, what will you do when you return if she refuses to break up with you?â
Boyce thought Wendy was not the kind of person who would pester him relentlessly. However, Armand was right, what if Wendy refused to break up?
She could never let Jasmine down and hurt her.
Jasmine had nothing left, and now all she had was him.
âSo, what do you think I should do?â Boyce asked.
Now he had run out of ideas too.
Armand said confidently, âIâve already thought of a solution for you. Itâs not that Iâm bad, Officer Miller is the only good man in the Miller Family.â
Boyce pretended not to hear him. After all, he had respect for Officer Miller. But Armand must have had his reasons for suddenly being so disgusted with the rest of the Miller Family.
âI didnât tell the Miller Family that I had found you. I guess everyone in the Miller Family thinks youâve already died in the river.â He looked at Boyce, âMy plan is for you not to show yourself for these two months and stay here.â
Boyce frowned, âWhat kind of solution is this?â.
âAfter two months, if Wendy is still thinking about you, I think she really loves you. If she finds a new lover in less than two months, it only means that she doesnât love you that much, but only wants to be with you because she sees you as a good person. Since he has already found a new partner by then, he will have no reason to bother you if you show yourself again.â
Boyce hesitated, âWhat if he doesnât have a new partner in two months?â
Was he going to stay here forever?
âThen break the news to her that youâre dead for sure. Will she be waiting for you forever?â Armand emitted a âhmm,â obviously sensing that Wendy couldnât last even the first two months and would definitely be looking for a new lover as soon as possible.
Boyce said after a moment, âThis is cheatingâ¦â
âWhatâs wrong with cheating? Wendy was married, and what makes her think she can bother you?â Armand got angry as soon as he heard this.
Boyce looked down. He was in favor of Armandâs approach, he just felt sorry for Officer Miller cheating.
âSo thatâs it then.â Boyce accepted this idea of Armandâs.
Seeing that Boyce could go beyond the sense of responsibility in his heart and agree with him so quickly, it seemed that he had no feeling for Wendy at all.
He stepped closer to Boyce, and his hot breath hitched as he spoke, âHave you and Jasmine established a relationship?
Boyce pulled away and emitted hum.
Armand laughed, âDamn, thatâs the way to go! This must be a blessing.â
Boyce didnât bother with him and said thoughtfully, âI really like her and want to take care of her.â
Armand laughed, âDonât tell me you just feel sorry for her â didnât you always dislike her before, and now you donât?â
Boyce gave him a look. Indeed, he had never thought of it that way. He simply felt that Jasmine wasnât the right age for him.
Even if he had some feelings when he made contact with her, Boyce ignored it because it felt inappropriate.
When he saw someone pursuing Jasmine, he feared she was with someone else.
In fact, he liked her.
âWhen are you leaving?â asked Boyce.
