Boyceâs depthless eyes looked like those of a deep well, and he froze as he took a glance at this girlâs eyes. Her face was pale and her eyes were crystal clear, which showed a kind of maturity beyond her actual age.
Under her eyes lurked a sense of steely strength, which awakened in him a feeling of protectiveness. How could he put her in a situation that would make her life miserable?
Slowly, he reduced his grip strength, and Jasmineâs scrawny arms curled around his neck. Her lips met his and she kissed him deeply.
Boyce was caught off guard by this sudden kiss and forgot to react or didnât even know how to respond for a moment.
Jasmine didnât mind his passivity at all as she pressed her lips harder. She liked the awkwardness in him, and she also liked how innocent he was.
Perhaps because of Jasmineâs passionate kiss, someone as passive as Boyce began to respond subtly. He took her frail body in his arms and tried to reciprocate her kiss, albeit a little awkwardly.
After a while, Jasmine was the first to release him, and her lips had become a dewy cherry. Moisture glistened on her ruddy lips, and as she blinked, she said huskily, âHow can I regret it all? I really love you. You are too dense and foolish since you believe everything I said. I was just playing with you. I will never, ever regret this.â
Boyce watched her sincere yet passionate face, felt something flutter in his heart like the fluttering of a feather, which made him go a little numb and tremble. His heart seemed to take on a life of its own as it spun out of his control. His heartbeat was irregular and rhythmless.
He wanted to reveal his feelings, but he was not good at expressing such intimate words. All he could do was stare at her in silence.
His eyebrows twitched as he said softly, âJasmine, I will not betray your trust. Thank you for believing in me.â
At first, Jasmine imagined that he would now tell her a âpassionate confessionâ, and even if he didnât, he should at least express his love for her. However⦠Was he thanking her for her trust with such a serious face?
She snorted loudly and groaned, âIâm almost about to cry, but somehow you make me want to laugh.â
Boyceâs face was still dense, âDid I say something wrong?â
He thought inwardly, âWhat did I say wrong?â.
Jasmine shook her head, âThere is nothing wrong with what you just said. Your words are perfect, and I am very moved by them.â
Boyce furrowed his eyebrows, âYouâre going to laugh instead of cry at the poignant moments. Do you really think Iâm that stupid?â
âNot at all, I never think of you that way. I just think youâre not smart enough.â After saying that, Jasmine rushed into the house and jumped onto her bed. She wrapped her blanket tightly around herself.
Boyce looked at that pile of fabric on the bed and his lips slowly curved up, revealing a slight smile. He entered without any urgency and sat on the edge of the bed before reaching out to remove the blanket. Jasmineâs head peeked through the blanket and her large eyes blinked up at him.
Boyce stroked her face and thought her face still looked a little childlike, but, at the same time, she also looked like a flower about to bloom. She was attractive and charming.
His heart continued to pound as he pecked her forehead without warning. He did not leave yet as he closed his eyes and breathed in her scent. There was a faint fragrance of shampoo in the air, which made him not want to leave.
He called her name: âJasmine.â
âYes.â Jasmine replied.
Boyce stood upright as he said, âSleep now.â
Jasmine shifted her body to the side and left a gap next to him on the bed. âWeâll sleep next to each other.â Boyce lay down and faced her.
The dim glow of moonlight streamed into the room, illuminating the whole place with a warm light. Jasmine asked him, âAre you warm?â
Boyce nodded, âYes.â
He didnât mean the actual temperature of the room. His blood was boiling, and it was the lustful longing a man harbored for a woman.
Jasmine got up and turned on a small fan by the table. Then she returned to the bed and asked again, âAre you still hot?â
Boyce shook his head, âNot anymore.â
Jasmine used her hand as a pillow as she continued, âKeep me company for a few more days before you come back.â
Boyce replied without hesitation, âOkay.â
âYou answer too fast. Donât you need to think about it?â Jasmine blinked in surprise.
Boyce replied, âNo need.â
Jasmine also smiled as she took his arm and placed it under her head. She was using his arm as a pillow, âHold me to sleep.â
Boyce was steady as a rock as he dared to stay away from her. He was a little dense when it came to his feelings, but he was still an honest man who couldnât control his bodily urges when he was this close to a girl.
Jasmine knew what he was on guard against, and he seemed especially attractive to her with that attitude. âAre you afraid Iâll annoy the hell out of you?â
Boyce couldnât come to his senses as he secretly told her, âHeâs still young, heâs still young.â He only replied after a pause, âWhat?â
âNothing. Just sleep.â Jasmine stopped sinking into his embrace. Although his arm still served as her pillow, there was a small space between them. She didnât mind Boyce touching her before they were married, but there was still an anxiety in her heart. In fact, she too was not ready.
The night passed very quietly. They both closed their eyes, but it took them a while to fall asleep.
Jasmine woke up in the morning, and Boyce stayed true to his words to accompany her for a few more days. She was going to inform her principal after breakfast about her absence today, as she wanted to accompany Boyce shopping for some clothes.
He forgot about the cold watermelon from yesterday, so he took it out and put it on the table.
He also prepared rice to cook porridge.
The leftover eggs given to him by Chris could be used. All the food in her house was given to her by the students.
Those foods were natural and organic ingredients, and those eggs were provided by a domestic chicken. They were natural and lacked artificial components.
He thought that since Boyce was injured, he wanted to fry two eggs for him. Then, she planned to go out and buy some supplements for him.
Accustomed to living alone for some time, she was very skilled at housework. The dishes she prepared were not bad at all.
When she went out to pour water, someone approached her.
She froze at the sight of that person.
