Dolores patted his hand, “It hurts!”.

Matthew laughed angrily, “Are you playing games to get sympathy?”.

Dolores realized she was wrong. She shouldn’t have suspected him, not even a little. Right now, they were a couple. The most important thing between a couple was trust.

Before, she didn’t fall for it after seeing those pictures. But this time, it was different. Emma was pretty smart. She didn’t expose things completely, but hinted to him to overthink it.

Dolores realized she had been careless, almost falling into the trap.

It was her fault, so she admitted it.

She took the initiative and sat on Matthew’s lap. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she played at being nice to him, “Is my ploy to gain sympathy working for you?”

Matthew looked down. Even if he was angry at being suspicious, looking at her pitiful face, he didn’t have the heart to blame her, “Your ploy to gain sympathy might not work on me. I have a very cold heart and I don’t know how to appreciate beauty. You can play the honey trap with me.”

Dolores smiled, “Do you think I’m beautiful?”.

Matthew carried her in his arms and headed for the bedroom, “Otherwise, why would I want to make love to you every day?”

Dolores struggled and pushed him away, “It’s still daylight, why are you taking me into the bedroom?”

“To show how lovely you are.” Matthew kicked the door shut.

Dolores was unwilling, “No way. I don’t want it.”

Matthew’s voice sounded from behind the door, “What don’t you want?”.

“What do you want?” asked Dolores.

“I’ve fallen into your honey trap, so I’m attracted to your beauty, what else can I do?”

“I’m too tired,” Dolores refused, making an excuse: “Doing it too much is bad for the baby.”

In the name of ‘finishing marriage,’ Matthew continued to make love to her. Although the baby was bigger and more stable, Dolores didn’t think she would be strong enough to bear it.

“Okay. Then I’ll just hold you without doing anything.” Matthew hugged her. His concern for the baby worked more than anything else. She behaved immediately.

Matthew kissed her lips, “After we deliver this baby, we won’t have any more.”

Dolores asked, “Is it because you want to satisfy your desire, or because you care about me?”

“I feel sorry for you.” Matthew hugged her tightly. When he went to get the test result, he passed the delivery room and heard the women in labor howling and crying. It must have hurt like hell. Otherwise, how could an adult let out such a loud cry?

“Did you cry when you gave birth to Amy and Andy?”

Dolores snuggled into his arms and whispered, “Yes, I shed tears, but I didn’t let out any screams. Next to me, a woman kept cursing her husband. It was very funny.”

“If you’re in a lot of pain when you give birth, you should curse me too,” Matthew said fondly.

Dolores laughed, “It will be very embarrassing. I won’t.”

She changed the subject, “Shall we go home tomorrow?”

The older ones were staying home now. Matthew and she couldn’t stay out all the time.

Matthew let out a “hmm.”

Mathew continued, “Yes. It’s been pretty dangerous outside lately. Before the Roger Bailey and Declan Bailey thing is over, you’d better stay home if I’m not with you. I’m afraid they’ll do something desperate.”

Although he also kept an eye on the Bailey Family, just in case, he couldn’t rest easy until everything had been settled.

Dolores agreed. She understood what Matthew meant. The woman named Emma was obviously doing something desperate. She even came over and stood between Matthew and her.

Dolores again complained at herself for being so foolish, as she almost fell into the trap.

The next day, Matthew left for work. Dolores returned to the villa. When she got home, she immediately went to find Theresa.

She asked Theresa how everything had gone between Armand and her.

Theresa looked down, “We decided to start over. I should have listened to you then and told him the truth. Turns out it’s not so hard to face him after telling him the truth.”

Dolores patted him on the shoulder, “That’s good for you.”

“Uncle and I plan to go back to C-Town tomorrow,” Theresa said.

“And Armand?” asked Dolores. She wondered why they had split up right after reconciling.

“I’ve told him. He knows I’m going back to C-Town.” Although they decided to start over, last time they fell in love too quickly, so this time they also decided to take some time to get along. When they decided, Armand would take her to meet his grandmother.

“Did he agree with you?” asked Dolores.

“Yes, he did.” Theresa pressed her lips together. Now, Armand was quite obedient to her. He agreed with her on everything she said.

“I am very happy for you. If you had told him earlier, you wouldn’t have had to suffer so much.”

Theresa lowered her head in silence. It was because she didn’t want to face the fact that all the people were worried about her.

In the evening, Armand arrived at the villa. He bought a lot of toys for the children. On the one hand, he wanted to announce to everyone that Theresa and he had decided to start over. On the other hand, he wanted to thank the others for taking care of him in the past.

“You haven’t informed Boyce?” asked Dolores as she looked at Armand. Everyone except Boyce was gathered in the villa.

Armand replied, “I called him, but he was unavailable. It seems that Officer Miller invited him to dinner at his home. Officer Miller has taken good care of him and likes him very much.”

Indeed, Officer Miller liked Boyce very much. Otherwise, he wouldn’t think of letting his daughter marry Boyce.

He invited Boyce to his home under the pretext of talking business, but in reality, he purposely wanted his daughter to get along with Boyce.

This time, Officer Miller also told Boyce directly about his idea.

Over dinner, he suddenly asked her, “Boyce, I’ve always liked you. I guess you know that, don’t you?”

Boyce said, “Yes, Officer Miller. You’ve been looking out for me.”

Officer Miller gulped down the liquor. He felt too embarrassed to mention it if he didn’t drink first. If it weren’t for the fact that his wife and daughter kept bugging him about it, he wouldn’t ask Boyce out with his daughter directly, but, after all, this was his own daughter. “I wonder if you might notice that, in fact, Wendy has a crush on you.”

Boyce was taken aback for a moment. After a long moment, he finally realized what Officer Miller meant.

“I…I…”

“Don’t be nervous.” Officer Miller thought for a moment and continued, “I don’t think you’re a stranger. I’m going to get right to the point. I don’t like to beat around the bush. You know Wendy’s situation well. She’s divorced. I know she doesn’t deserve you…”

“Not at all. I’m not a good man either. Getting divorced wasn’t a lack,” Boyce immediately said, “it was because that man didn’t hold back when faced with seduction. It wasn’t Wendy’s fault.”

Officer Miller let out a sigh, “I’m glad you said that.”

Boyce didn’t respond. He almost knew what Officer Miller wanted to tell him now. For a moment, his mind was in disarray. He didn’t know what to do.

“Boyce, you’re not young either, would you like to…think about it?” Officer Miller blushed. As Boyce’s boss, he asked him to date his daughter who was divorced. He felt rather embarrassed.

“If you’re not willing, you can ignore my words,” Officer Miller added.

It happened rather suddenly. It was so sudden that Boyce didn’t know how to refuse.

Officer Miller had always taken good care of him. Wendy wasn’t bad. However, ever since that time it hadn’t worked out, he hadn’t thought about getting married again.

“Come on. Let’s go drink. Take it like I didn’t mention anything.” Officer Miller poured a glass of liquor for Boyce.

Boyce remained silent.

Officer Miller raised the glass and clinked his own, “We’re going to hit rock bottom.”

Boyce picked up the glass. After a moment’s thought, he said, “It’s happened too suddenly. I still don’t know how to respond at the moment.”

“Don’t be nervous. After all, Wendy doesn’t deserve you.” Officer Miller purposely did not say those words to Boyce, because he believed that the divorcee had a lower social status than others. He had some old thoughts.

Even if Wendy was his daughter, he thought so too.

Boyce was single, never married. He had integrity. Officer Miller liked him a lot.

If Wendy wasn’t his daughter, he wouldn’t let Boyce date any divorced woman.

Boyce was in a quandary. He said, “Please stop saying that. It’s too sudden. Please let me think about it.”
